J.Crew's December Catalog Sneak Peek on Pinterest

"Thanks!" to many of you, including HeatherInSearchOf (in this post) who let us know that there are several images from the upcoming December catalog on Pinterest. (Click here for J.Crew on Pinterest.)

 * How beautiful is this image?!?
 *These girls dress better than I do! {sigh}

Okay... I am now super excited about the upcoming new arrivals. This is another location catalog: Zermatt, Switzerland. I always love location catalogs and this setting is particularly breathtaking.

As for the merchandise... there are so many gorgeous pieces! The Llama Sweater made me smile- can't wait to check that out in person.

I am also interested in the Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flanel in Mint. I am curious what other colors they will include too. Now let's take a  moment to disect this outfit, shall we? Is she really wearing a pajama top and sweatpants? Even better? She is wearing J.Crew's "Collection Cashmere Sweatpant". I can't even begin to imagine how much those are going to cost.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming collection? Are there any pieces you are super excited about? Does your local store carry any of the new arrivals yet? If so, please share!

  1. I hope this is in my mailbox tomorrow!!!!!

The star bracelet is so cool. There's a matching necklace, too. I saw them in store this weekend.

The medallion sweatshirt looks comfy and cute.

The new dot silk blouse was in store and is gorgeous.

I'm just bummed that J. Crew bottoms have been a huge fail for me this fall. I've been rocking a lot of Kut from the Kloth jeans. They fit me PERFECT!!

And my dark blue matchsticks from last fall ripped on Friday. Oooooh. I was so mad. Serenity now. Not even a year old, and those things were 100 bucks. What the what?!?!

    1. I feel you on those Matchsticks...mine fell apart too. I just presumed that it was the wear and tear (because I love them so!) but I am glad to hear the complaint from someone other than me.

    2. Oh no, this is disappointing. My teenaged daughter's matchstick ripped, but I assumed she was just hard on them. Mine are OK so far, but I wear them less. She refused to buy another pair - didn't trust them.

  2. Hi Alexis - thanks for posting these. I like the buffalo check peacoat, red Sperry boots, and that's about it. Nothing else is really speaking to me and that's okay 'cause I've got to get into Christmas shopping mode. Truth be told, I'm more interested to see what Factory releases. I wonder if they'll also roll out this week.

    2. High five, Vava!

I like the navy/red of the coat instead of black/red and may order it to try it on because my store doesn't get much in terms of outerwear....unless of course, the back view has a giant exposed zipper or some other craziness!

  3. Is it just me or does that top cuff bracelet look like a white cat with green eyes complete with whiskers. Or do I need bifocals?

    1. Took me a few tries but I see it now lol! I think that just means you are a creative person, no bifocals required!

  4. Schoolboy wool flannel $198. Available in heather graphite, heather mineral, heather caramel, pack green, faded teak. A colorblock version ($298) and a black watch plaid ($236) also shown in catalog.

Collection cashmere sweatpant ($298) available in heather grey, heather mineral, black, navy. "Sweatpants get the ultimate upgrade"

The catalog has a few cute items but nothing that speaks so loudly to me that I have to have it now.

  5. Some look promising, but we'll see when they get online/in store.

I totally agree about the sweatpants. I appreciate loungewear, but I don't want to have to worry about being delicate with sweatpants that can't be machine washed and get dirty.

  6. I think it looks promising too. We'll see! Pinterest says November 13th it's available, do we think that is online or in stores?

  7. I cant wait to see the items online and at a B&M.

I really love the Buffalo plaid coat. I've been wanting a coat like that for a long time. J.Crew sold one last winter, it was a 3rd party brand, which was super expensive. I hope this plaid coat is not a collection piece. :- /

    2. Thanks, shopalot. Do you happen to know the price of the Sperry Shearwater Boots? I know they're also pricey.

    3. Sperry Top-Sider for J. Crew Shearwater
Leather in Modern Red, Kraft Brown, Natural $150. Flannel in Blackwatch, also $150.

    4. Thank you! Dang modern red, JC. Why not *real* red?

      Delete
    5. I know, right? It is definitely Modern Red (i.e. ORANGE). The kraft brown color is a really nice olive green bottom part with a natural tan colored leather on the top. I think I like that colorway the best. The natural colorway is a navy bottom with natural leather top but the sole of the boot is bright neon green!

    6. Thanks Shopalot. I'll wait for it to go on sale..haha..as always. ;-P

    7. I am also interested in the buffalo check peacoat. Thank you for the pricing on it shopalot. I was hoping it was going to be a bit more reasonable though. Hopefully it will still be around in my size when it goes to sale. :)

  8. I like the gray jeweled sweater (the one with the green purse), but the image is cracking me up. The model is hunched over with her arms wrapped around herself like she's cold. Wear some pants or tights under that skirt! LOL.

  9. I think that's my favorite sweater in the catalog. Of course it is collection cashmere and out of my price range at $268. I love the quilted mini-purse, too. The skirt would be so much more appealing in a longer length and maybe the model wouldn't be so cold! :)

    1. @Shopalot do you happen to know the style # of the grey jeweled cashmere? I like the idea of the jewels not being so big even though the sweater is alot of dollars I still like it and does it come in any other colors?

    2. Hi, Mary! It is called collection cashmere tiny sequin, item 09265D. Only shows one color right now "dusk/ivory".

    1. Yeah, bah humbug JC. Prices are OOC, but probably in part because they know they'll be taking 25% off right away. Still...makes it harder to want to shop for yourself at a time you're shopping for others.

  11. This is off-topic, but relates to J Crew. There is a posting on Thought Catalog called "21 Signs You're Destined To Be a Soccer Mom" and number 1 reads:

    1. There is a feeling you get when you set foot in a JCrew, and it’s a feeling incomparable to anything else in your life. It’s a sort of spiritual certainty, accompanied by a buzzing excitement and a sudden, overwhelming urge to spend the next 45 minutes trying on enamel bangles and touching sweaters. It is your Happy Place.

  13. So glad I held on to my buffalo check jacket (still love it)!

  14. I see they have a berry print shirt and pants that match my new kikis. Afraid to call to get the price...

  15. I saw the Llama sweater IRL the other day at my JCrew. They have the gray one and a cream colored one with pink/fuchsia llamas.

  16. The Collection Berry bouquet sleeveless blouse is $228 and the Collection café capri in Berry bouquet shantung is $248. Both are silk/cotton. Went to the Fifth Avenue flagship store to get a catalog. I liked the simple styling but nothing I had to have. Still a lot of sequins and jewels being attached to the sweaters.

    2. Yes, I got one last Saturday but sorry I don't know how to scan and upload.

  17. I did laugh when I read the description on a couple of the pictures sander ribbed inexpensive sweater. Not sure what JCrews definition of "inexpensive" is?

    1. I would venture a guess ...that is the "not so well received" dream knit sweater with a "new" name.

      Delete
    2. Well I guess someone else read the descriptions and now that line has been deleted in one and changed to ' the wool cashmere turtleneck sweater'. We may never know what the 'sander ribbed inexpensive sweater' is or was.

  18. I tried on the llama sweater last week...loved it! I was all set to purchase when I realized that two of the jewels were dangling by a thread. When I pointed this out to the saleslady, she acted like it was no big deal and referred me to the attached bag of extra jewels (like extra buttons for pants)...sorry, but at that price point, I expect the jewels to at least last past the front door of the store. Very disappointed, J. Crew, very disappointed. I couldn't lay down my credit card for this one.

  19. Anybody know if the Majesty Peacoat is going to come in any new colors? That modern red-esque one gives me hope. Praying for a dark pine green (or in my dream world, a blackwatch-ish plaid instead of the loud buffalo check pea coat which I could never pull off)

  20. WFF - I was just thinking the same, love my buffalo check jacket too!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like the buffalo check jacket, too. The cat cuff (lol ShoppingCelle) and the printed loafers the model has in the pic below the llama sweater.

I reviewed both colors of the jeweled llama sweater here.

  22. Thanks Marie! (can't seem to put my comment under yours...)

That means $260 CDN and $300 CDN for the pants! ARRGGHH! Ah well, saves me money!
