Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

    1. Bless you! I need some black jeans and cords big time. I will run up to The Loft tonight to check these out. I'm wearing BR's cords today, so I can fall back on their cords if need be. :)

  4. At my local TJMaxx I saw some navy patent flats from Me Too that looked very similar to the Janeys - they also had the little gold heel. I don't buy JC shoes any more because they're too uncomfortable, but these were great - they had a padded sole and were really cute. I think they were $34.99.

    1. I saw those too, silver_lining! They are a dead ringer for the Janeys and they were pretty comfortable. I didn't buy them because I have Janeys, but had I known ...

    2. I'm going to go look for these. Me Too is a really decent brand. I have a bunch of Me Too flats and wedges from Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. They look great - leather and comfortable soles.

    3. Thanks for the heads up! I think I'll look for these in my local store.

    4. The Me Toos I have are synthetic and I wouldn't know it if I hadn't read the shoes or the box. They make both synthetic & leather, so I'd check them to be sure if having leather is important. They're a very comfortable brand and I don't mind that mine are synthetic.

    6. TJ Maxx online has a very cute pair of Me Too flats with studs on the cap toe. I ordered the black; they are adorable and only $34.99. I have a wonky foot and don't want to spend a ton on shoes until after I have surgery because the shoes are just going to get ruined.

  5. Hey, all. Two things today in Boden land.

    1. Boden put 25 items (women's section has ten items) on sale for 15% off, which can be combined with any code/coupon out there. I wrote more about this promo at this blog post.

    2. I wrote up a massive Boden Weekly Review Roundup on Friday last week, and normally I don't bother letting you all know about them, but this one may interest some of you since there were a TON of reviews and try-ons, so there is a possibility that if you were looking for a particular item from them from this fall or winter collection, it may have been reviewed at that post.

  6. Couple of Club Monaco and Madewell reviews HERE. Loving both brands this seasons and how they're doing leather accents and outerwear.

  7. Loft has an almost identical blouse to the green butterfly blouse from a season or two ago. The green looks identical but the butterflies are smaller, which I actually like better. Also comes in a cabaret like color with black butterflies

  8. Emerson Fry has a raglan crewneck sweater, all wool, not too thin, not too thick, feels wonderful when it's on, and can easily be dressed up and down (3 colors - brown, black, purple). It reminds me of J Crew sweaters from 15 years ago. It runs one size large (if you want it more fitted). It feels like it'll last forever.

  9. A few Anthropologie reviews can be found here and some Madewell reviews here

  10. Shopbop is doing 25% off with code INTHEFAMILY25 (brand exclusions apply). I was able to (finally) pull the trigger on the Madewell Transport Tote for $126!

  11. A few BR reviews. If you are in need of a new flannel shirt, I recommend the Plaid Flannel Shirt. I bought it in Royal Azure and love, love, love it! I took a small (I’m a 6 in tops) and it fits perfectly. I love that it has a slim cut, so I don’t feel too manly in it..ha. Also, had success with the Issa Collection Olive Zebra-Printed Kimono Dress. At 5’3, this hits just above my knees, so maybe too short on taller girls, as an fyi. The material on this dress seemed to be the nicest of all the dresses in the collection. It is a not too thin or thick and drapes well. Already paired it with tights, boots, and just with heels for work. I did try on the black version of this dress and the quality seemed to be a lot lower…material thinner, just a big miss for me.

  12. On that note, BR is having 40% off sale items (online only) with code BR40SALE until 10/20; 30% one full price item (in store and online) until 10/20 with code BRFALL.

Saks Fifth Avenue is having their Friends and Family sale online and in stores through 10/20. 25% certain items and 20% jewelry. See website for details. Code- FRNFAM

Also, I apologize for my poor grammar in my posts. :) I did not proof anything.

  15. 25% off for Sak's friends and family now through 10/20 . FRNFAM = the code (worked for Burberry, Michele watches, Kate Spade, Tory Burch so it's a legit promo code) and if your order is above $200 stack the code SFASHIP on top.

  16. Kate Spade - 30% off FALL13FF. Also good at the outlets, kate spade saturday and jack spade.

  17. Piperlime - 20% off, ends tonite at 11:59 PST w/this code:
