J.Crew Sale: 100 Brand New Styles

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know the following news from this morning.

J.Crew has a nice update to their Summer Sale (click here to shop online) section online this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone. It's pretty amazing how much stuff is getting stocked in the morning.

J.Crew also sent out an email letting us know that 100 new styles were added to the sale section. Yey! Great timing to use with the the additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SUMMERTIME. This code expires tomorrow, June 13, 2013.
Ladies and gentlemen: if you live near a brick & mortar store, go now! Really. I am serious. I stopped by today and they were literally ticketing pieces in front of me, reducing a lot of prices. Even better? The prices are way better than their online counterparts.

The following list contains just some of the amazing deals (some of which have been mentioned by fellow JCAs in previous posts- thank you for sharing!!!) to be had in store:
  • Jeweled medallion sweater (item 76408; $138.00) online $99.99 in store $39.99
  • Convertible jewel-collar linen sweater (item 46965; $148.00) online $99.99 in store $39.99
  • Collection featherweight cashmere Tippi sweater in multistripe (item 40649; $238.00) online $199.99 in store $89.99
  • Merino Tippi sweater in stripe monarch (item 01006; $98.00) online $69.99 in store $29.99
  • Twisted stitch open-neck sweater in stripe (item 56836; $85.00) online $69.99 in store $39.99
Keep in mind, that the prices above are before the 30% off discount is applied at the register. So there is even more money to be saved!

Did you check out the Summer Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  1. Thanks for the update, Alexis.

I just took a look at the Twisted Stitch Sweater. The description states that it has a 'relaxed fit' and a 'slim fit'. How can it be both?

    1. Maryeb, what that means is when you put the sweater on it is a 'slim fit'. Within an hour of wearing it becomes so baggy and stretched out it becomes a 'relaxed fit'. I tried it on in store and was able to fit into an XXS. But the stretch/baggy factor was not attractive to me.

  4. Has anyone seen the jeweled medallion sweater in XXS at their B&M? If so, can you email me? florapower9@gmail.com.

    Thanks!!!

    1. FlowerPower, I did check Park Meadows, CO store and no size XXS, smallest size was S.

    2. Flower Power - Santa Monica had a stack of the jeweled medallion sw this past Sat. Not sure about sizing. (310) 260-9099

  5. BTW - I was so excited to go and buy that little Collection Featherweight Cashmere sweater in multistripe for $89.99 but only the blue stripe colorway is that price. The really adorable neon stripe (officially called Heather Nickel Multi) is still $169.99. Boo!!!

  6. I went yesterday although debating about going back because my main store does not tag the sale items after they receive deeper discounts and I end up missing out on stuff thinking it's higher priced than it really is until I read on here that it's much cheaper.

Yesterday I got the Liberty Perfect Shirt in Pepper Floral for $44, Jackie stripe cardigan for $14.99 in orange and navy- I also got the navy and white the day before, multi stripe merino Tippi for $14.99, and two pairs of wool cafe capris (in black and gray) for $14.99, all after discount prices. I've been three times in the past few days and have gotten some amazing deals.

The jeweled medallion sweater sounds tempting but I'm reminding myself not to put on the sales googles, because I don't really have anywhere to wear this (I did get the jeweled collar sweater which I plan on wearing this fall). Thankfully none of this is final sale so if I find my fashion judgment to be clouded by low low prices it can be returned.

  7. Hi JCAs! As I mentioned on another thread earlier this morning, there were a LOT of new markdowns with the update today, including the Collection embroidered daisy top - $159.99, Swoop top in punk floral - $89.99, Ratti electric kiwi short - $59.99, just to name a few. There are also several new promo-priced items today, too. I've noted them all in this post on my blog. :)

  8. It sounds as if there are some really fantastic deals in store right now, too. I'm going to try to stop in tomorrow morning if I have time. Thanks for the update, Alexis! :)

  9. Until JCrew fixes the huge pricing differences between online and stores I have basically stopped shopping with them. Crazy. Strange. Plus, I have gift cards so other stores from family and friends to spend right now.

  11. Does anyone know if the solid color gauze blouse (long sleeve) is on sale in store? It's still fp online. Thx!

    1. Jruby18 - The embroidered gauze top (review) had promo signs of $69.50 in the store as of yesterday, 6/12.

  12. I got the color mix necklace on super sale today!! The JCA told me it had just been marked down. It was marked $79.99, plus 30% off- so I got it for $56!! Of course, I didn't need another statement necklace, but I'd been ogling this one for a while, and couldn't pass it up at this price.
I also got a turquoise vintage tee for 4.89!! Had been marked at 6.99, then extra 30% off. Very excited! :)

  13. I popped into the store today and did more than a few double-takes. I was livid that the butterfly-print Tippi I paid like $50 for on sale (+30% off) was now down to $29.99 ... GRRR! And I did grab one of the striped Jackies with the brass buttons; my store (Durham NC) had many sizes in both colors, although I did control myself and only buy the navy because I was trying not to buy the blue/orange one just because it was only $15 on sale.

And this store had the deep-v super lightweight merino sweater marked down to $39.99 before discount; a week ago I couldn't find it cheaper than $59.99 and before that it wasn't even marked down. Patience is a virtue!

While JCA is accepting my posts today, wanted to mention the Wilmington, NC store had many double-serge wool pencol skirts in many sizes and colors for like NO money. I'm talking you could get one for like $25. I already had them all but I was crazed about it all the same, lol.

Yesterday I finally caved and bought the purple linen perfect shirt ($59.99-30% = $41.99), which I've been eyeing for over a month. I love that color -- I think it's neon violet? -- it's what they used to call vintage berry. At the same time I picked up the crosshatch linen perfect shirt, which was $10 more, as I have found it's just too hot lately to wear chambray. So it's like the look of chambray without the weight.

Howdy to all my ladies, I miss you all a ton. Overall I've been very good about not buying anything for quite some time now, these are my first splurges in months. ...

  14. Stopped by my B&M, large sale section but still some high prices I feel. Returned the Jewel Collar sweater but did purchase the Tippi Stripe with Butterfly $29.99 and Embroidered Wildflower top in Off White $39.99 + 30% off. I am glad nothing is final sale.

    1. At my local b&ms they told us their 30 off was final sale.

    2. I asked an SA on the sales floor and she said yes, it is final sale. The SA who rung up my sale told me it is 30% off sale but that makes it final sale. However, final sale is not printed on my receipt like it usually is. The signs above the sale section did not have the standard final sale notation. So who knows?

      Delete
    3. I specifically asked the SA who was helping me and she said no, she wished it was just to get rid of all the sale merchandise. However, when they were doing a similar promo a couple of weeks ago on sale items, they told me it was Final Sale. If it does not say Final Sale on the receipt, I don't know how they can say it is, if you want to return it. Plus, the return of the Jewel Collar sweater from last week was on sale $39.99 + 30% off and I returned that last night without any issue. But as shopalot said...who knows??

    4. When I visited last Friday I was told it was final sale but nothing on the signage said that nor on my receipt. Seems like it would be hard to prove it was final sale if you really wanted to return something. At these in store prices I would be fine with final sale but only if it was in writing since someone just saying it might be incorrect.

  15. I'm so pleased with this sale. I was able to get a price adjustment on my Mari sandals which I bought at full price with a student discount and ended up paying $79.99. For the difference and about $60 more I was about to get the neon tweed pencil skirt, cafe capris, scout chinos, boucle zip up, color mix bracelet, a flower ring, a liberty mirror, and two of those "In Case of Emergency" kits. I can't remember the last time I was able to save this much at J.Crew, especially in store, even with all the recent promos. I guess they really want to clear this merch.

My B&M (Huntington, NY) had pretty much the whole rainbow of cafe capris, toothpicks, and minnie pants in a great selection of sizes on sale if anyone is looking for any of these. Also saw a whole rack of linen whale tippis XS-L. A lot of jewelry on sale too!

  16. Thank you for the update, Alexis and JCAs!

I will finally get to go to a b&m in the US next week so I'm hoping that there will still be some good sale items. I'm also looking forward to the next rollout which I'm hoping is next week. :)

I'm still awaiting some things from the last promo.

    1. Those price differences are just crazy. Really poor business. Why would I buy online if store prices are so much less based on principle alone. Yes, I don't have a store nearby but I will wear what I have and/or use my Talbots gift cards that I won free and clear:) $250 and I get an educator's discount there as well and online and store prices are the same. Talbots has 30% off everything starting today too;)

  18. I really don't understand why the prices are so different between the store and on-line. It makes no sense to me.

  19. Though not on sale the sold out Rose necklace is available at the Toronto Eaton Centre store for $148.00. HTH

  20. I hate the discrepancy in prices. My store didn’t have anything good last night in the sale section. The only two new items that were added since this weekend were the Carrie dress in Hawaiian sunset ($119) and the Rugby-stripe tank dress ($64.99). Everything else has been sitting there for a while. Wish I could pick up some good items online that my store doesn’t carry or I know won't make it to a decent sale price.

    1. Have you tried asking the store to run a locator for a specific item? They'll ship it right to you and you'll still get the sale price.

  21. I just got back from making a return and a quick pass through the sale section. WOW. The price discrepancies are just crazy.

I did buy a Monarch Tippi for 17.89 after discounts. It would've been ridiculous not to. Seriously, they are giving some newer items away after multiple markdowns, and some older items have been hanging there at the same price for months.

  22. The tortoise flower bracelet (02220) is marked down in-store from $88 to $49.99, before the 30% off. (The necklace is still full price.) The Golden Charm bracelet is marked down to $69.99, a small discrepancy from the $79.99 online. Lots of big markdowns in-store, as reported, but I am determined not to buy anything else that I just "sorta like", just because it's really cheap. My closet is way too crowded for any more of that...

  23. The summerweight linen and garment-dyed linen sweaters are $39.99 in-store before the 30% off. Still FP online.

  24. Hi Elaine - you mentioned that you saw double-serge wool pencil skirts at the store. Which colors are they? I'm looking for blue and light purple ones.
    Thanks so much!!!

  25. Can anyone shed some light for me on why those of us who MUST order from the internet are penalized by HUGE price discrepancies? I feel literally sick to my stomach looking at these prices from B&M stores and then looking at the prices that I am forced to pay simply because I do not live somewhere accessible to a store. Why is this?
