Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. Definitely, since they are having a 40% off sale items and 25% off women's tops.

  3. Jcrew Factory is having an up to 50% off everything in store sale. I definitely will be picking up a few things :)

  5. I'm wondering if anyone has tried the linen dolman tee?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have one from last year, so assuming this year's is the same...

The tee is loose-fitting, particularly in the torso. The linen is very thin, enough to require a cami, and it tends to lose its shape a bit, so you may want to size down. The dolman sleeves aren't too exaggerated, and the length is a bit shorter than most J.Crew tops, which is a plus for me, but someone taller might find it a little too short.

Overall, I'm fond of the linen dolman tee, and I got a lot of wear out of mine last summer, but the quality could be better and it's not something for which I would pay full price. If you can find it on sale, however, it's a great top to have for the summer.

  6. OT decent sale update but ugh, there are so many ghost popbacks this morning, both JCrew and Factory sites! I hate that!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What time did you look, ruffles? Sometimes if I look too early, it seems like there has been an update with tons of ghosts and then the availability fills in a while later. Or sometimes it's ghosts and there was never availability, that is annoying. They shouldn't advertise something they don't have to sell.

      Delete
    2. ruffles, I was up at 5:30 this am (couldn't sleep) and happened to check jcrew.com, naturally. The update had already happened... so it was really early this morning. Normally it is closer to 6. At 5:30, there were no ghost pages on factory... I wish they'd fix the websites so that when something sells out, it goes away, rather than remaining to give us sale stalkers false hope :D

    3. Cate and J.CrewJD, I was on both sites at about 7:30 central.

Maybe it is just my bad J. Crew kharma because I am supposed to be on a shopping ban :)

      Delete
    4. ruffles, I have thought that before too haha! It's a sign that I shouldn't be shopping and I wasn't supposed to have whatever it was! That's 8:30 eastern time, so probably the items really were sold out by then. There are normally lots of ghost pages by 7:00am eastern time.

  7. No store visits for any of us in Boston/Cambridge/Newton etc given the horrifying activity last night and this morning. All businesses and universities are closed, no subway or buses are running. Last night between 1 and 3 the helicopters over my neighborhood were awful. We got a robo call from the police not to leave our house.

Please check in with anyone you know, especially in Watertown.
Please check in with anyone you know on the area

    1. My best friend lives in Cambridge and she said the suspect they are looking for now lives less than a mile from her place. So scary. I hope they catch him soon so all of the Boston JCAs and everyone else there can get back to normal and try to recover from all the senseless carnage of the last week.

    2. Be safe cousy. I checked with my best friend who lives in Watertown, she is safe but very scared. My thoughts are with everyone there today.

    3. Yes, be safe Cousy and all Boston area folks. I've been watching updates all day, such a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.

  8. Off topic. Just signed into jcrew.com to make a purchase, and it said, "Welcome back! You had previously added 3 items to your shopping bag. Are you still interested in these items?" It then showed me random stuff I had placed in there this morning, on a different computer. This is pretty advanced for J.Crew. Is this a small step toward a wishlist? I hope so!!!

    1. Wow, for the past few weeks my shopping bag has refused to keep anything unless I buy right away which is unrealistic - so I wondered if they were tinkering with Shopping Bag. This sounds like a step in a good direction. Hoping for wish list and expanded order/return history.

  9. Probably not, I was at a J. Crew yesterday and did some damage. The store had some new things. The Apron dress in navy blue was there (not in my size, but it had potential). A linen baseball style sweater in tan/ivory and navy/ivory, this I loved and bought in tan/ivory (thought it ran a bit big). Shirts were 25% off, all non-sale Cafe Capris marked at $59. 30% off sale section, where I saw the Cargo Scout Chinos, Twisted Stitch sweater, Daisy Lace tee. Saw the cute Beach Ball bracelet too.

    Replies
    1. Should have made clear - Beach Ball bracelet was not in sale.

    2. Cate, which store? Was the navy seersucker cafe capri also $59?

      Delete
    3. maqsad, I think it was only the solid colors. I'll bet it didn't include the seersucker ones.

  12. Just came back from J.Crew. Sweaters, knits and tees are 25% off.

Like Cate, I bought the Linen Baseball Tee in Tan/Ivory (it's not online yet). I agree it runs a little big. I also bought the Linen V-neck Pocket Tee in Blush.

  13. Does anyone know if the Tresco print toothpick jeans are priced less in store? Online is $119.00. Thanks in advance!

  14. Just got back - Stanford had the Martina Suede Wedges in Aged Driftwood for $149.99 less 30%. They had at least a size 9 and 9.5 remaining.

The Circle Print Chambray Popover was $49.99 less 30%.

The Cafe Capris in poppy were down to $39.99 versus $79.99 online.

  18. Stopped by the store (at Columbus Circle, NYC) and fell for Mila cap toe. There was a promo at the store - 20% some flats. The sales assistant proudly advertised the price of the flats as $138 (with the promo). According to him, the shoes were not eligible for an additional 30% off. I asked him to match the online price - his manager was not thrilled but did it and stacked the FS discount on top of it, like I asked, bringing the price down to $86.
Feeling slightly overly indulgent, I asked if they would honor the educator's discount. But at this point, the manager decided to draw the line and said that they do not stack the discounts. After leaving the store, I called JCrew online support and inquired about the educator's discount. A person on the phone sounded slightly confused - he confirmed that it is the company wide policy to no longer stack the discounts, yet he told me that I should check with each individual store as "they have more discretion of what they do". Hmmm, not clear. Not clear at all.
In the end of the day, I still got a good price on the shoes (addl $12 off would have taken it over the top).
Wore the milas out last night. While they do look super cute, they gave me blisters... Is it the price to pay for a good deal? Will they stretch and mold to my feet or am I doomed? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    1. I had that same issue with my Mila's at first but they do stretch out the more you wear them and now they perfectly mold to my feet!

    2. Thank you, Stephanie. I am keeping fingers crossed that my milas will stretch out as well (although i was hoping that they would be perfect right out of the box).

  21. Stopped by the store, picked up the swoop top in punk floral (the emerald green pattern with flowers)--very good buy with promo and student discount! I also picked up the striped linen boy shirt, the scout chinos in yellow--only $!2, and the scattered dot skirt.

  22. The pinwheel eyelet capris in mint were$59.99 b4 discount. I was told that the navy colorway was still FP. The Liberty belt in June Meadow was 19.99.There were also a few scattered sequin sweaters marked down to 19.99.

  23. just got back from the store... yes.. 25% off my store too (too bad i didn't find anything)

i tried on the linen cap sleeve dress (46914) in the orange color. the color is a very nice orange but, unfortunately, the wrong color for my skin tone. i'm usually a size 4 but i sized down to a 2 in this and that was even a little big in the chest. i don't think i could have sized down any further (thick waist... boyish figure).

i also tried on the eyelet top that was previously mentioned in the upcoming may arrivals post (item 51243). i'm usually a size 2 in the perfect shirts and that's what i tried but it fit a little funny across the top of the chest where the lace hits the solid part. i would actually like to have tried a size 0 or a 4 to see if that made any difference where the lace lies on my chest and how poofy the rest of the shirt gets but there weren't any to try. there was another color -- a rose pink color -- which i LOVE even more than the white. i'm waiting for my VPS to get back from some time off to get her opinion on the fit of the shirt (we're about the same size except for height).

  27. Same in Vancouver. 25% off everything. Too bad I was picking up a jacket I just bought last week. Still, got lightweight chinos, which were already on special from $88 to $76, and then 25% off that to $57. Also, 40% off final sale items.

  28. According to the customer service rep I spoke to via online chat, the 25% off sale at retail stores will extend through the 28th.

    1. Nice that they're extending it. My VPS told me that the 25% offer will be available online beginning Monday and extended it to my pre-orders from the May style guide. This is so not good for my budget.

    2. Mel, do you have the May style guide already? How did you place a pre-order for the items? TIA!

    3. AD MD, I have the May style guide already. My online VPS has been suggesting items and I've been pre-ordering through her. If I can figure out how to scan in color, I'll try to share some images.

  29. Guess they're trying to clear stuff out for summer rollout. OT but for those who go to Tyson's galleria in VA, they will be closed Monday-- they are moving men's to their own separate store. Was told eventually they will close for a month in June to reopen in July and carry largest crew cuts and become full collection store-- (just in time for fall rollout).

  31. Mall of America JCrew has 25% off final sale, but none of the CS people told me about the store-wide discount and I actually tried on a few regular priced items! Grrr. Didn't end up biting on FS as none of the items were marked down add'ly from where they had sat during the 30% promo.

FYI, if you're still looking, Clover Tweed skirt is marked at $50 in-store (Mall of America had only a few sizes left, but Rosedale Mall in MN had 00-8 last time I checked). Makes me wish I had waited to purchase mine, but oh well!

    1. oh thanks for the update...how did you find it fit TTS? I normally wear a 4 in the Number 2.

      Delete
    2. Hi LizT,

I found the skirt to be on the small side in comparison to the wool No. 2s, but not as tight as the cotton/spandex No. 2s. However the Clover Tweed does not have stretch or give to it for monthly weight fluctuation.

I bought one size up and that one fits me like the model, though a tad more form fitting at the hips and thighs than on her.

  32. I noticed that the poppy Micro-Tweed jacket was down to $69.99 before the discount. Great price for that jacket, which is cute and comfortable. Was able to get the 30% off with JC card. The promo does not apply to any third-party products, which is normal.

  33. Went to the Crewlet since I had to make a few returns...they had a ton of new arrivals out. I have to start taking pictures when I go! Men's polo's were still 50% off, garment dyed denim 50% off, dresses 30% off, clearance was all 40% off. They have a factory version of the green lucille dress as well as a navy lace version - picked up the navy lace version and I love it. Jewelry was 20% off as were flats. Bought a few polos for DH, the dress, clearance royal violet blythe ($26 after the discounts), emery flats in clay. Used my gilt city coupon so ended up at around $200 for everything...not a bad deal.
