STYLE30: 30% Off Final Sale at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to many of you, Emily (in this post), who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code STYLE30. Yey! This offer expires February 18, 2013. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on the purchase of sale items at jcrew.com from February 11, 2013, 12:01am ET through February 18, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew Factory stores, J.Crew stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. To redeem, enter code STYLE30 in the promo code box at checkout. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Limit one promo code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change
Again, yey! It is great to see some type of additional percent off sale. Plus, J.Crew has a decent update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (880+ for Women and 370+ for Men).

Will you be checking out the Final Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. What a pleasant surprise for Monday morning! There are a couple of promo-priced items that I am contemplating with the extra % off, so there's a good chance I'll order before the STYLE30 promo is over. :)

  2. Along with the update this morning, there were a lot of New Promo-Priced items including the Nolita jacket in Indigo, Enameled frog necklace and bracelet, Maritime blazer in stripe (the black colorway), and many others.

The entire list of new Promo-Priced items can be seen here for those interested.

Oh, forgot to add that the Blythe blouse is now on promo in most colors too (instead of just shocking pink).

  3. Hurray! I finally got a cashmere pocket sweater (navy). I would have preferred the kelly green, but it wasn't final sale, so I'll stalk the green on popback.

    1. Congrats! How did you score the pocket sweater?! I don't even see it on the site now, and I was on this morning at 6:30 a.m. and didn't see it then, either. So jealous! :)

    1. Hi! I find that the Blythe seems to run big, but if you're planning to hand wash it, go for the bigger size. They can definitely be hand-washed and ironed but they will shrink a bit. I originally took the smaller of my 2 jcrew shirt sizes, which turned out to be too small once I washed the shirt.

  6. Not as many popbacks as I had hoped, although I will grab the Schoolboy in camel. What a deal!

  7. I bit on the striped cashmere boatneck. I hated paying shipping, but I was worried it would sell out while I shopped. When I did go back and look through everything, it was clear that stuff was going fast--the item count rapidly dropped!

    1. I love that sweater, wore it yesterday. But mind you, the sleeves are very short, almost elbow length on me in my regular size (they were already short but I think they shrunk a bit when I handwashed it)

  8. I got the peplum boucle jacket that FINALLY popped back in my size in the indigo color. I thought it would be nice for spring. Also added a vintage cotton V-neck tee in white (I can never get those on super-sale and with promo + 30% off the come down to a decent price). Sucked up shipping as I didn't want to spend more than what I had on a gift card.

OT but if someone has a factory code that aren't going to use I would appreciate if they could pass it along. I have a cart full but I am not pulling the trigger without a promo. If you have one please email me at crazyaboutjcrew@gmail.com. Thanks!

  9. I snagged a bunch of stuff today. 3 belts, 2 tippi cardigans, and 2 tippi sweaters. Some good neutral colors and a couple of good colors for spring. I have total spring fever with all of this snow and slush1

    1. it's not consistent, but 7 eastern is ideal in my opinion.

    2. I would say 6 ET. In my opinion, 7 is too late for coveted items.

    3. 5:30am eastern time if you want to be sure not to miss the update, but it's not always that early. By 7:00 eastern time, the most sought after things are long gone. Some of them disappear literally minutes after the refresh, it's crazy. If I really want something, I go directly to checkout.

  11. I ordered the no. 2 pencil skirt in herringbone (in the purple) and the enameled frog bracelet.

  12. Went ahead and got a pair of black wool Minnies and both a navy and a black Tippi. I didn't really want to spend anything, but "staple" items like that are next to NEVER on sale! Plus I had a giftcard leftover from my birthday, so that cushioned the blow to my bank account, too.
Also noteworthy: none of the items I bought were final sale, but the code worked anyway. =)

  14. Has anyone seen the Blythe Blouse in Red Currant IRL? How does the color compare to burgundy/oxblood? TIA!

  15. Also, OT but not sure if anyone noticed (sorry if this is old news) that J.Crew has a "Fashion Week Diary" on their tumblr blog - jcrew.tumblr.com - with behind the scenes pictures from the past few days leading up to their presentation (tomorrow)!

  16. OT: Garance Doré has a couple photos of Jenna Lyons posted here on her blog today.

    1. Jenna's so cute! Nice website.

    2. I really admire Jenna but obviously even she can't afford J Crew boots and has to wear sneakers in a snow storm.

      Delete
    3. That is the first time I saw Jenna wearing sneakers. Good to know she's having fun with fashion, most women her age wouldn't wear Nike Airs, but she pulls it off with leather pants and a geometric print parka.
I admire her fashion a lot, its partly what makes me keep coming back to shop at JCrew.

Her fashion has evolved over the years I have been following her.

  18. Anyone own Monas? I am debating whether to keep or return my leather ones. They are snug but if I wear them for a few minutes they feel surprisingly wearable. I am scared to commit. The color I have (red currant) is unique and lovely and matches a lot of my clothes. I am worried about being stuck with too-tight shoes. But they were $68.60 and really lovely.

    1. I have the patent leather ones and I am scared of them. They look adorable but hurt like hell. I have yet to venture out in them. In fact, I am very close to giving them to some unsuspecting goodwill shopper.

    2. I have the patent leather ones too and I ended up going up half a size. Initially the did hurt! But after wearing them approx 5-10 times they are a lot more comfortable. So don't give up on them yet! Still a tad too high for me but I can wear them at work.

    3. I have patent Monas and they will stretch a half size with regular wear. In fact, I find that wear 8.5 in patent styles but size 9 in leather JC shoes.

  19. Regarding the updates, I am on NY Eastern Time and I have found that the updates occur between 5:25 & 5:40am; you can actually see the count change in the sale section if you are up and online (rather than preparing for work like I am SUPPOSED to be doing at that time of the morning). Good luck with the sale!

    1. Awesome, so I would need to get up at 2:30 am pacific time! I guess I will have to remember this for a future bout of insomnia.

  20. @FlowerPower. I have the Monas in suede and find them to be quite comfortable for a dressy, high-heeled shoe. I've worn them to cocktail parties where I've been on my feet for a 3 hours straight and while my feet do get tired, the shoes have never given me any blisters so that's a big win in my book.

  21. This morning I literally watched the site update at 5:45 am. I got that red fair isle and another coat. First time I actually managed to check out without competition. IMHO, 6:00 am is too late for the really desirable stuff. I think now was up early this morning. But now every one will know about the percent off abd the battle for pop backs will begin anew.

  22. Can someone comment on the fit of this season's (2012) schoolboy blazer in flannel?

    Merci!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It runs small. I wear a 2 in the navy schoolboy and the herringbone, but the 2 in the flannel (camel and modern red) was way too tight to be comfortable.

  23. We all fill our carts up with 30% and final sale ... many of these purchases "NWTO" end up in the great weekly exchange post. I will not buy final sale as I change my mind alot and J crew really has little right to impose this on us...as we know many other online sites don"t do this.
With spring on the horizon and all stores showing spring/summer....I will not be buying more sweaters and coats that I might not wear at all or very little anyway. Styles change and I will want the new sweaters and coats/ in the new colors come next fall. Its good to restrain ourselves sometime....I just dumped my cart ! It feels good.

    1. I know; I have to giggle/shake my head at all the final sale fails that show up in the weekly exchange. My own included, sometimes. I definitely shop final sale MUCH less than I used to, but find it difficult to stop. I try to stick to accessories and items I know will fit like jackies, tippis, etc. It is still lame that they have final sale, but I just can't boycott my favorite retailer. Not shopping final sale would amount to a boycott for me since I do not buy at full price.

      Delete
    2. Unknown,
You have spoken wisely! I am guilty of buying way too many final sale items, only to have regrets . Who can pass up such great deals? But I ,too, dumped my cart full of over $400 this morning. I have yet to wear most of the stuff I bought last month!

      Delete
    3. I have stuck to my no buying final sale for almost 2 years now and the one time I did I had my order noted to be able to return if needed as the "one time" etc line. JCrew used to be my favorite retailer and take up 95% of my closet but it no longer does b/c final sale is ridiculous. Prices were cheaper on many items before Christmas and final sale and returnable. I just won't play the game anymore!

      Delete
    4. I buy things on final sale that I have tried before or that I pretty much know will work (If I've read reviews etc. and I know generally what works on my body). I had one skirt not work out (the sterling) but I had good luck trading with another JCA. But I agree, it often discourages me from ordering anything that isn't "safe." I'm trying to get better about watching the weekly promo-priced items so I can get marked down items that are also returnable.

      Delete
    5. I've lost the final sale game many times myself. I just wish I'd found this site sooner! My local goodwill has been a gold mine for people the last few years.
I'm trying to only buy things that I've tried on before, but I still get excited sometimes and end up with things I don't wear.
This morning I ordered the Blythe blouse in alabaster and the short sleeve silk blouses in navy and papaya. They didn't say final sale so I might be OK if they don't fit.

    6. My visits to the Brick and Mortar stores are "recon." I like to wait until FS and percent off FS to get the best deal. I don't need to have the newest thing now.

The one exception with FS being a problem for me is when there are soooooo many items that I like and want. I try really hard to buy stuff that is classic--that's one of JCrew's strengths; its clothes are classic--and not to buy something that will be out of style in the near future.

I can rely on Zara for that (though, for the record, I love Zara too).

  24. Anyone have a review of the classic patent ballet flat? Does it run true to size? Also, has anyone seen neon papaya in real life? I am looking for an orangey/tangerine ballet flat and the classic patent ballet might work, especially on promo! TIA!

  26. I am not having luck getting free shipping when i add a swim item as a ride-on to my order. Anybody have success in getting the FS of having CS adjust it after placing the order?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The free shipping on swim is only for the swimwear items themselves. You'll need the total to be over $175 to get free shipping if you have non-swim items in the order.

      Delete
    2. I ordered a bathing suit and a shirt and requested the free shipping and I was denied. Apparently free shipping only applies if you simply purchase a bathing suit. Seems strange because I was spending more money, however I guess they do this to avoid people order bathing suits simply for the free shipping. Although this is frustrating in Canada because there is no benefit to ordering a bathing suit to obtain free shipping because I would spend more on the return shipping.

      Delete
    3. I think they've changed this. It used to apply to the whole order, but recently it seems to only apply to the swimsuit.

      Delete
  27. HI Chanie and Yossi, I commented on this a little while back. Apparently, they have "fixed" it so you cannot add a swim item to get free shipping, which REALLY sucks! You only get free shipping on the swimsuit itself and nothing else. :(

  28. So gutted! The promo isn't valid on the Australian site :-(
I just did a dummy order on the Aus site then the US site to compare. Aus: $495 US: $305.
    Not Fair J Crew.....

However, hope that lots of you score amazing bargains!

  29. For those interested, there were a lot of new Promo-priced items again today (including many of the new arrivals), as well as some markdowns. You can see the updated list here.
