  1. Not a vent, really, but can anyone tell me if it's okay to gently wash my Pixie pants. They say dry clean only, but I try to avoid dry cleaning at all costs, if possible. Thx!

    1. Jruby18, I wash my pixies in with my regular laundry. Have been doing so since they first came out. My original, years old pair, is still in perfect condition. They survive the dryer too without a problem. I have NO idea why they would be an item that J.Crew thinks you need to dry clean.

    2. JCrewJD, thank you SO much! I kept wondering what was about them that needed dry cleaning!

  2. Okay, I'd admit it. I'm sequined out. I have a few sequined items that I love, but it feels like JC is overdoing it and has for several seasons now. That Etta's come in several sequined versions should be a sign that restraint might be called for.

  3. Does anyone else have a problem with their jeans wearing out way too quickly? I bought a new pair of matchstick jeans right before Christmas and they already have holes in them! Since JCrew raised the price of jeans to over a hundred dollars this year, I feel like they should last longer than that, especially since jeans are a wardrobe staple for a student like me.

    1. I have experienced the same thing. I purchased toothpicks in December of 2015 and discovered a rip in the crotch area this June.

  4. After one wearing, the fabric on my dot Blythe blouse has torn in back where the sleeve connects to the body of the shirt. The stitching on the other arm doesn't look that great, either. Anyone else experience this issue? The shirt is not snug at all; it is actually rather loose fitting. Should I attempt to return it? Will they take it back after it has been worn??

    1. I had the same issue with my Blythe blouse. My guess is that they will take it back.

I don't buy Blythes anymore as a result of this - I'd rather save up for Equipment blouses since they last much longer.

    2. Take it back!! It's a current item, not like you've had it and washed/cleaned it a dozen times - it's defective. Just SAY it, don't ask - I'm here to return this defective blouse.

  5. Thank you so much ladies! I'm taking your advice and will attempt a return later this week. It was a gift and I no longer have the gift receipt. I'll have to take whatever credit they give me. I had misgivings about the blouse to begin with as the silk is so very thin. Should have listened to my gut and returned it straightaway but it looked so cute with my gray cashmere cardigan. Lesson learned.

  6. I bought a pair of toothpick jeans in December and they had a small hole in the crotch after the first wear. I've bought JCrew jeans for years (have some pairs that are 5+ years old) and just figured it was unlucky. I patched up the hole but since then they've continued to rip and I've put in three more patches. I was in NYC this weekend visiting a girlfriend when I noticed she had on the same jeans. I mentioned my issues with mine and she pointed out that hers had holes in the knees and crotch after the first two wears. I'm disappointed since I'm used to Jcrew having high quality clothes and I love the style/color of these jeans. I'm going to try to return them but I have feeling I wont be very lucky.

    1. Hi Katharine - I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but am happy to hear that I'm not the only one. The matchstick is my favorite, and I usually order my size two at a time. I've noticed that the denim in some orders is thicker than other orders - it never seems to be consistent. Anyway, the thinner denim rips in the crotch after 2 washes! I'm very frustrated. Were you able to return your pair?

  7. My two pairs of match stick jeans that I bought within the last 4 months both have holes in the crotch and at the knees. I love the fit but it's not worth it. No more jcrew pants for me!

    1. Hi Katie - I've had the same issue. Did you speak to anyone at J.Crew about this? Thanks.

  8. My vent is with Madewell. Yesterday they had the 30% sale on certain items. Listed online was the h by Hudson - Horrigan boots with the 30% off. I put them in my shopping cart and it said they were excluded from promo. I did a online chat and SA said yes they were on sale and I could order them and give him the order number and he would give me the discount when the order shipped. I was going back and forth on $200 boots and then went to order and they were removed completely from the website. I used a link from history on my iPad and they were showing as Sold Out. Sorry but that is just not right!!! and really not good business practice. I know we all see it on J Crew but I am just starting to look at Madewell more. I did not save the chat but feel that I could push it since I still have the link with the boots showing with the 30% off promo but I really have a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing and will spend my $200 someplace else.

    1. Also, I did a chat with Amazon today and they have an option to send transcript of chat to your email. That would be nice J Crew and Madewell.
