Sneak Peek: Madewell Spring 2013

Madewell posted two images of their upcoming Spring 2013 line over at their blog (click here). Lot's of bright hues to make sure the Winter blues go away.

It is always fun to see what items are "around the corner". Although, it is hard to think about wearing pastels (or t-shirts) as the days start to get chilly.

Incidentally, all these items could easily be included with J.Crew's November 2012 catalog color palette. Which makes me sad. Why? Because the November catalog should be filled with rich reds, pine greens, golden yellows, and royal blues. Sigh.

What are your thoughts on Madewell's sneak peek? Are you interested in any of the items? Or is it too early to think about Spring of next year, when Winter of this year is still coming. ;)

  1. I'm curious about the orange floral print shown in the first picture. They've had some wonderful florals this season (including the Flowersketch print in the Peplum Top!) although some of the pieces they came in were unwearable for me.

  2. I completely agree with you about the November catalog, Alexis! I am really tired of seeing all the pastels, too.

  3. I really liked Madewell at first but find it less and less interesting with each rollout. It's almost like some of the items are designed by interns or students and not real designers if you KWIM. Quality isn't consistent either. I noticed that one of the t-shirt dresses I bought last year has shrunk and twisted so badly that it can't be worn out of the house and maybe not even as a nightie. It wasn't cheap either. I won't be buying another t-shirt dress from Madewell.

  8. I can see a few items that look promising, but overall it looks like a big jumbled mess. Almost as bad as J Crew.

I'm just coming out of my summer hibernation, I looked at the J Crew Fall 2012 pics on style.com and my reaction is YUCK. (Sorry to anyone who likes it.) I'm hating the direction that J Crew is going. I will not be buying much from J Crew for a second year in a row. I'm so missing the great Fall/Winter 2010 collection! The pieces were so luxurious, the colors so beautiful, and everything worked together. There was a coherency I've not seen since then. Good thing I OD'd on the clothes and shoes then, it will make up for what I'm not buying this year.

  10. I've really been enjoying Madewell recently. It's definitely different and a little young but I like diversifying my wardrobe a bit! Just reviewed 2 dresses here and here
