A big "thanks!" to Life as a Cat, of the amazing The J.Crew Archives blog, who scanned the September 2012 catalog. Yeah, that's right!

To view the catalog in an easy-to-view slideshow, check out her "September 2012" post.

P.S. Check out that smile on the front cover... finally! Love it. :)

  4. As a curly-haired girl, I'm loving the super curly-haired model on the cover. She looks so happy and it makes me smile!

  5. Love the cover. I have naturally (crazy) curly hair too. I didn't see her on any of the pages though??
I'm definitely looking forward to the new Fall items. I've really been restraining myself lately.

  6. Don't know if anyone has pointed this out, but on pp 78-79 of the catalogue it says that there is free shipping/returns on all handbags and shoes through November 8.

  7. of course many of the shoes and handbags are going to be over $175 anyway, right?

    1. Naturally ;) But there are several flats that are below, and it should include anything that goes on sale (if it works like the swimsuit promo). Also, returns are not currently free. It's nice for folks who aren't near a store.

    2. I wear a specialty shoe size (5/5.5) that is never stocked in-store, so I also appreciate the gesture because it makes me feel like less of a second-class customer. Now if only they would do the same for petite sizes, too.

  8. LOVE the cover! Yay, less of the vacant looking models and more happy, interesting, natural, "approachable" looking ones. The very chic and elegant Linda Rodin wearing the gorgeous yellow Crepe Shawl Blazer is inspiring for those of us who are older. The jacket looks like a Lexington and Wool Oxford Blazer hybrid! Definitely my catalog favorite.

  9. I picked up a copy yesterday at the Marlton, NJ store, but I think it fell out of my stroller when I was putting in back in the car. Argh!! So, thank you for posting this. It's fabalicious. The colors of the new line are gorgeous. I had the babes with me, so of course I was all ADD and barely could focus. Will have to go back sans child.

    1. I bought my sister an icon trench with my teacher's discount. The SA even called on the red phone when I couldn't find her size in store. The correct size was shipped for free! Great deal!

  11. Thanks for the mention, Alexis! My first thought when I saw the catalog cover was, "she looks like the girl from Disney's Brave!" Lol. Well if that girl is going to be a role model, I'm all for it!

  12. This is the *best* cover I've seen in a long, long time. Finally!

  13. I can't wait until cooler weather! I love the cover, too!

P.S. Has anyone noticed the silly naming conventions between the regular and Factory products? The Minnie pant on the Factory side is the Winnie pant. haha — I chuckled a bit at that one.

  14. Oh btw, the first line of this post says "August" instead of "September" - just thought I'd let you know! :)

  15. I also love the cover: love her smile, love her hair, love the styling (simple and realistic but still interesting). I personally am really sick of everything only coming in bright colours and all the colourblocking. I'm glad there's a little more variety to the styling in this catalogue.

  16. Heather - I completely agree with you - this is the best cover I've seen in a long time, too. LOVE her hair, her smile, and that saddle bag! :)
