Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Quite possibly.

OT-Factory site says: "SHIRT ALERT: UP TO 50% OFF KNITS & TEES."

  2. Yeah... Returns... The lilibeth sandals and green lucille dress are going back.

    1. The Lillibeth Sandals absolutely murdered my feet...is that why you're returning them? Nobody else seems to have had that problem.

    2. Yeah... They fit but I was walking around the house with them and both the toe area strap and the strap at the back of my ankle started bothering me and I can see that doing some major damage if I wore them for more than ten minutes so back they go.

As for the dress... Really cute but def not cut for us straighter shaped ladies. :(

    3. I just received my Lilibeth sandals from the promo and yes, the elastic area in the back cut into my heel like little knives. Otherwise i really like them...am wondering if I can fix it somehow - they were such a good deal.

    4. I am returning my Lilibeth sandals, also...fit is narrow for me (and I don't have narrow feet!), not very comfortable, and I doubt they will last through the summer.

Any comments on the Dreamweaver (braided leather) flats? They seem comfortable, but I am worried about the braided leather withstanding wear...anyone have these shoes?

    6. Hi KRB-

I've never posted before, but I have the Dreamweaver flats, and I felt like I had to tell you how much I love them! I've had them a month and worn them a few times. They have worn really well so far, and they are so cute! Every time I wear them someone compliments them. I would definitely recommend them.

    7. HollDoll129: Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the Dreamweaver flats! I think I will have to keep them now...they are really unique and comfortable as well! So glad to hear they are wearing well, too :).

  3. How do you know what items were recently added to the sale section? its hard to keep track. I wish I could keep track of items i like and know when they went on sale...

    1. Bookmark it on your computer then click the link every morning to. See if it went on sale! For online at least.

    2. pnewelljr: I keep an updated list of the items that get marked to promo-price on my blog, so you can also check there for recent markdowns.

    1. @ Julie Y - Aw, thanks :)

@pnewelljr - New cuts are at the top of this post. I try to make addtl notes, i.e. if the cut was $20, if it moved from promo (.00) to sale (.99), etc...

For in-store prices differences see this post. I'll probably stop by this weekend to see if there are other cuts & items marked down in-store, but not online.

Also, Fabulous Florida Mommy has men's promo items in this post. Nice, because I am slowly trying to get my husband into The Crewniverse. (cue our galaxy far, far away music...whatever anthem that is)

  5. when they had the additional 30% off sale items, the three sale items i had in my cart were back at regular price?! now that the promo is over they are back on sale? does that happen often?

also my jcrew honored the 30%off in store when i mentioned it to them.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. that happens a lot. --prices changing.
Although I am surprised the store honored the 30% off especially since the website said the discount was available only online and not in stores.

      Delete
    2. AbbyA: The items you had in your cart were more than likely marked at promo-price. The promo-price items will either go back to regular price (usually in a week or two), which is what happened with the items in your cart, or get marked down further and moved into the sale section. If you're interested, you can see a more detailed explanation of the promo-priced items in this post on my blog.

  7. There are a lot of new items on promo this week, including the Collection Icon Trench, Schoolboy blazer in eylet, and Silk Bow Cami. I updated the Women's Promo-Priced Items list and posted it here. I also updated the Men's Promo-Priced Items list and posted it here. :)

  8. No, won't be shopping this weekend. I did some damage when Talbots had 25% off the whole store and I had a 40% off one item coupon. I did buy some suits from online to try. Without the free ship/free return I wouldn't have but I need a new suit and have always wanted to try a couple of their newer styles last season but never did....shopping online for a suit with free ship/return makes it easy and I know I will end up with one suit if not two for sure this way.

  9. I've got three boxes of stuff from the sale to try on and I'm sure I'll be returning something! I doubt if I'll buy anything in the stores, especially since my store was not honoring the extra 30% off....unless they are this weekend for some reason. I can't quite figure out when and why they do in store sales yet.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. straycat - They seem to do an extra 30% off in-store when they need to make room because the racks are full and there is a new rollout on its way. Sometimes they just ship items to different stores or ship it to the warehouse, without having an addtl 30%. The store I visited last week didn't do extra 30% either.

  14. I'm going to return the cashmere striped boatneck (it bunches up in the chest area and rides up) and a striped popover hoodie that's not cotton as I hoped, but a scratchy, terry-like material. I'd like to find something cute to do an exchange, but I'm not loving much of what's out right now.

  15. I might stop by because I am going shopping with a friend (it should be only for her). Lat time I went I had hard time to pick something to take to the fitting room but I did post a few reviews from my last visit yesterday HERE.

    1. Thanks for the camp popover review. It was on my radar. Btw- those light colored new cafe Capri I think DO run small. I ordered my regular size and they were like leggings on me. Don't know why.

  16. OT but I am SWOONING over the newly arrived collection printed sequin skirt. I think it is one of the most gorgeous skirts I have ever seen, and it is one of those special items that I can imagine wearing and loving forever. This is just the kind of item that makes me keep the faith in JC's design team. I don't have $795 in the budget right now, but I'm really thinking about it...

  17. Could not reply but my take on the lilibeth sandals. First pair at $78, hurt like heck even on the 2nd wearing on the back of the heel. Then noticed that that piece was almost ripped off on both shoes, returning them today. Had another pair on order for $54 (30% off) and they seem to fit better and not hurt but only wearing around the house for now to see, fit and if they hold up.

  18. I went this last week and tried on a gorgeous tunic dress that's apparently not online. The style is the same as the big apple print tunic, but the print is a large version of the arrowhead ikat. The color is a pretty pinky coral. I never buy anything from JC full price, but I suspect that this dress will sell out before it goes on sale.

  19. A couple of returns to do. Not much new - but I'd like to try the new Bateau Trench dress and the silk tee (at sale time). Sizes in the dress are nearly sold out online. My PS said it is really nice quality and easy to wear...but pricey....

  20. Just came back from the B & M store. Sales area had tons of those "Daisy Duke" shorts that I can't figure out who is buying. Obviously not many people around here. Lots of other stuff too, but nothing I really wanted. Sales gals told me next week will be the final summer roll out. I wore my new Sovereign Paisley skirt and got lots of compliments. I love the longer length of this skirt. A really overly catty SA latched onto me. She went ad nauseam about the stripe linen open stitch sweater in the yellow/beige colorway. I really wanted to ask her if management told her to push that ugly shapeless thing. She explained to me in detail all the ways I could wear it....blah, blah, blah. I was wearing J. Crew head to toe....did she think I'm a newbie? I couldn't get out of the store fast enough.

    1. I disagree. I have and love the linen sweater in the sun driftwood colorway. Check out how gorgeous it llooks on the blog Pink Peony on the post from 5/31. Just size down a size or two and it is perfect.

  22. I'm not going to the b&m but I did pick up a couple of items (stripe dolman & green hutton trousers) online a few minutes ago that were "sold out" during the 30% off sale. I really wanted them and there is low inventory, so I scooped them up real quick.

    * Linen cable sweater in wave crest $49.99
    * Martina patent wedges bronzed clay $69.99
    * Matinee trench $109.99 both colors at this price for awhile

  25. Went to my small B&M last night, some jewelry on sale that I did not see online. Bellflower earrings on sale for 39.99, Bauble cascade necklace, sorry I could not see the price on that one, but in the sale case, golden cabachon bracelet, 39.99, I picked that up in green, love it, that was it, HTH!!

That bracelet and those bellflower earings are too die for. Both are very substantial in size. At that price I would have bought both pieces...no luck me getting those prices at the store here. May need to do a trip to Seattle soon...if this big difference of prices online/in store/in USA or Canada keeps up. thanks for the heads up on $$.

    1. AM MD - It's J Crew. It's relevant. lol I agree w/Rynetta. TTS.

    3. AD MD: I wouldn't alter the top. In my opinion, the sequins would make it really hard/expensive to do so.

    4. Agree again w/Rynetta. In my experience absolutely having to have something leads to it being not worn/never taken to alterations/etc... Bookmark it and wait for a popback. $.02

  32. I'll try visiting the Yorkdale store some time this week. Feeling painfully shopped out and exhausted at the moment. I spent several hundred dollars worth and most of it is going back. Everything I ordered was too large (if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands before I mail them back, I have a the seersucker schoolboy blazer in size 6 and the canvas schoolboy blazer, also size 6 ). Thankfully none of it was final sale otherwise I would be in trouble!

Off topic, but just wanted to remind everyone that today is the last chance to enter my giveaway for the J. Crew and SkinCareRX.com gift cards!

  33. Visited the Robson St. store in Vancouver. The sale section is slowly growing. I saw quite a number of ballet flats (in flame, fuchsia), Olympia Sandals for $69.99. Also the Maritime Dress, Linen Cable Boatneck sweaters in white, navy, jade, Jackie cardis in Bright Violet, Jade, Canvas, Gingham Shirt in neon kiwi, Perfect Stretch Shirt in Mint... Store is as cramped as before. People in wheelchairs and mom pushing strollers are having a tough time getting around, but the SAs are super helpful, even offering bottles of water (which is unheard of in Canada). A good shopping experience, but prices are still miles away from those online (esp. if you're able to order from the US site). BR(USA) got my money this weekend with their 30% off promo.

  34. Does anyone know when the next big rollout will be? I know there were a few new things last week...

  37. AllisonFay, my b&m will have the new line out on the 12th, but they will be closed with renovations from the 8th to the 11th, so the new line could be out earlier in other stores.

My b&m lost crewcuts (boo - much better prices in store than online), so they'll have a "fancy" area for shoes, jewelry, and accessories. The b&m is also going to be a level higher, so I'm hoping we get to see some the pretties when they actually appear in larger b&m's, instead of having to wait a couple weeks.
