Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. This is OT, but today I tried to check out with the bow ballet flats, but they were marked final sale. I chatted with a rep who stated that some items are final sale because of the price reduction. She said that it was not a mistake and that if it states final sale, then it is definitely final sale. I am confused, I thought final sale end a few weeks ago? Can anyone clarify what is going on? Final sale or no final sale?

  2. I went this weekend. I'd like thoughts on what happened to me. I bought a brand new, not on sale item. I got home, took the tag off b/c I wanted to wear it that night to dinner and a button immediately fell off. I called the store and was told that it's not a defective item and that I can't exchange it. I was told I'd have to drop it off for their tailor to fix, at no charge (how gracious of them) and then pick it up when it's ready in approximately a week. I don't think so. I feel I should be able to exchange it, no? I'm pretty irritated.

    1. You should have been able to bring that back for exchange or refund. That's how my store would have handled it. Did you talk to a manager?

    2. Unless this is sold out and you like it enough to rather fix it yourself than not have it at all I would bring it to the store, return and re-buy. Don't even ask or explain anything. There is nothing in return policy about tags on. I have been sold in-store items without tags and even been shipped items without tags and I have returned without tags and was never questioned about it.

  3. Heather, I bet if you speak to a different rep you'll get a different answer. A lot of the reps don't know what they're talking about. I've been told various different things by various reps about final sale policies in the past.

    2. My local B&M had it at $129.99 over the weekend. Sadly they did not have my size. HTHs.

  5. Heather, if you didn't wear the jacket, take it back and return it/exchange it. I find you get better results in the store, but there are always rouge SA's that don't know what they are talking about so always ask for a Manager.

Also, JCrew needs to get their stories straight. I was told that Final Sale was over. I didn't want to chance it so I had the CS rep. put a note on my account. I checked out while chatting and then gave her my order number. You have one hour to cancel the entire order if you change your mind or they won't make the note on your account. My 2 cents for what it is worh.

  6. OT - I finally signed up with an online personal shopper after good reviews from this blog. :) If I purchase online without going through my PS can she still get credit? (i.e. if buying a popback or sale items I don't want to wait to get a hold of her) Thanks!

  7. I spotted the J.Crew Animal-print linen-canvas shorts on Net-A-Porter this morning (http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/190171). I have been eyeing this item since the spring lookbook and collection preview appeared last fall or winter (can’t remember).Did this item come and go already at the stores/online? This is the only item I really loved from that preview. Anyone have insight? My size is gone from Net-A-Porter.

    1. These are yet to be released with J.Crew probably with the next batch of new arrivals. I've preordered them through my personal shopper and am excited for them too. Hoping they don't disappoint. Net-a-Porter seems to get pre-releases of certain J.Crew items for some reason. I wonder if J.Crew does that to see how poplular that item is going to be? The nice thing is you can get the actual garment measurements on Net-A-Porter while J.Crew doesn't always have the measurements until the item is available.

  8. Made some returns Friday and looked around but nothing I needed to have now. Bit underwhelmed. Never thought I'd say this but maybe I am jcrewed out. And I'm starting to lose faith in seeing a full price promo. But basically same shirts tanks dresses sweaters in sale section. With the exception of seeing the tipped linen and neon azalea linen blazer on sale.

OT I got the leather flat Olympia sandals in the seashore beige and am on the fence about keeping them. The color was ok for me but I wasn't that impressed and keep asking myself if I would buy them if I saw them in any other store ( sort of like Gigi's f21 test). Anyway anyone else have them and like them or not? Any opinion about them? Thanks!

    1. I got those exact sandals during the last promo, and had the same reaction. I waffled for a while, but ended up wearing them yesterday. I will say, they are very comfy and more neutral once you have them on than I thought they would be (they read much more orange to me in real life than I expected/hoped). Not sure they would have passed the 'any other store' test for me, but I think they were a smart basic buy for all-leather sandals. HTH :)

  9. OT: Has everyone received their May style guide? Everyone except me, that is?

  10. Stopped in at the Omaha location. The Herringbone Schoolboy in Aged Driftwood and No 2 pencil in Ultra Eyelet (several chili, 1 navy) were in the sale section. I think the markdown was about 30% so $119.99 & $89.99 but didn't get a chance to linger - was with my teenage goddaugthers.

  11. I went to University Village in Seattle. They had the new leopard cafe capris in linen (loved them!). The bright cafe capris in jade and fuchsia were 39.99! none left in my size though.
