Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. I've talked about this brand before but Club Monaco finally launched their first online site!!! Here's the link: http://www.clubmonaco.com/home/index.jsp?ab=global_home

If that doesn't work, you might have to fan them on their facebook page to get the right link.

Club Monaco is just as high quality as J.Crew with around the same price tag. I definitely think ya'll will like this brands offerings. If you haven't heard of them before, check them out! <3

    1. OK, Club Monaco started out as a Canadian company but got bought up by (if I recall correctly) Ralph Lauren. Talk about ironic, when I googled CM, the link took me to the Canadian site, which isn't e-commerce ready yet! So, thanks for the link to the international/US site so at least I can browse (eye roll).

  6. I would recommend the black lace jacket highly! I am not a lace fan at all and this jacket is amazing....Also bought the floral shirt that can be long sleeve or rolled up with tabs and a v-neck floral cardigan.

  8. I had an issue with Ann Taylor this past weekend. Read all about it here.

Also, I second Harpers Shadow on the love for Club Monaco. It's amazing. I have a store in my city that I frequent. As J.Crew quality declines, my closet sees more and more Club Monaco.

  9. New favorite Talbots shirt: Crinkle Gauze Camp Shirt (#A44215). $69.50 but the 25% off sale is still going on. The shirt is lightweight, sheer but is tapered some and not a big over-sized fit. I will wear it a lot of over tanks, I think. They seemed to have changed sizing again and I am wearing a size larger at Talbots this Spring than I do in my regular J.Crew or Ann Taylor size.

  16. I just bought two pairs of the cutest printed canvas shorts at the Gap -- one in a orange colorway and another in shades of Casablanca blue. Like that they're 3 1/2 to 4 inches inseam as JCrew's chino shorts are too short at 3" but too long at 5".

Here's one of them, but there are a couple more prints in store that don't appear online:

  22. Also, Nordstrom is offering "free shipping" (do they always?) and on my post last night I write about my J.Crew tortoise shell necklace (no longer available) but suggest some cute tortoise shell alteratives from Michael Kors, Tory Burch, and a shop on Etsy that sells hand-made faux tortoise shell jewelry, a lot of which is Art Deco and very J.Crew meets Lulu Frost!
