J.Crew Factory Email: Style pick-me-up: EXTRA 30% OFF sale items

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open and they are offering 30% off Factory items on sale with promo code WINTER. This promotion expires Friday, January 13, 2012.

As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.

I normally don't shop Factory online, but I did purchase an adorable necklace this morning. The price was right!

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory offerings? Will you check them out?

  1. I'd really like to pick up another Factory mohair cardi as $13.99 is such a tempting price, but $8.95 shipping kills the incentive. Back in the day I might have rationalized $5.95 since at least that's less than half the item's cost, but this flat rate fee is just outrageous IMO, particularly when you're buying not just one small item but a whole order of $100+. Like Elaine said in another post (hope I'm not misquoting since it was a few days ago), I'm still thinking about the shipping fee I paid for an order last week and I'm still bothered by it.

  2. Dara,
Yes, I was going to post the same complaint in the Vent Post. I think the flat rate shipping fee of $8.95 is crazy high. I thought about ordering a couple of bottles of nail polish (standing by my NEVER order clothing anymore on final sale) and I could have easily paid the $5.95 for the 3 colors I wanted but NO WAY to almost $9 for shipping. I wish they old shipping rate was still in effect.

  3. Shipping cost makes it a dealbreaker, so I'm not even looking.

  4. Alexis, I ordered an adorable necklace too this morning, maybe is the same (mine is the one with the double strand of beads, blue and turquoise)? It sucked to pay the shipping but I figured that it wouldn't pop back again before the end of the promo and the 30% off made up for ir. I threw in a pair of safari city pants for $6.99 (not a big risk even if I dont't like them. I have the retail version and they are my favorite summer pants).

  5. Anyone get the online chat survey? I'm curious if anyone here will get in. Just finished the survey and I qualify but don't know if I'll get picked until later, of course.

  6. Marisa, I got the email too and I also qualify, so I guess we wait and see! I have to say, I was surprised to see them soliciting customer feedback, but pleasantly so.

  9. crewguy - Welcome. Shipping times depend on processing time in the warehouse & where you are located. It seems sometimes the warehouse is backed up and it takes a couple days to get a "Released" status and tracking number. Other times there is a very quick turnaround for that part of the process. I am on the West Coast and find that my orders take at least 5 business days to receive. East Coasters receive their orders within 1 or 2 days, from what I've read here.
