  1. Well I didn't think it was going to happen as they haven't done this in a looonnnggg time, but in trying to see if there was a new promo or sale (1:11 am my time) I logged in to check on an order, and I got the "Free shipping, monogramming and gift box" comment. Cool, J crew - Thanks!

  2. Thanks for posting that Suzy. I just checked my account and have the free monogramming and free gift boxes, but sadly no free shipping.

  4. I love the petite little face of the Timex traveler watch and all the watch straps I purchased (at a discount, yay) to go with it! Especially the spotted calf-hair one. :) I do wish the strap was just about an inch shorter, though. That would be perfect.

Does anyone know if this watch is waterproof? I'm assuming it isn't. I was giving my son a bath last night and without thinking I plunged my hands into the water, then screamed and pulled them right out. Arrggghh. Watch appears to be working fine but it never occurred to me that it might not be waterproof. So used to my other watch I've worn for 15 years!

I also love the cushy waffle henleys -- I just picked up the Modern Red one with navy stripes (one for my sis, one for me) during the last 30% off sale.

And the Snow Sparkle Earrings are exactly what I've been looking for in a special-occasion earring for years. They're the earring equivalent of my Snowball necklace, which I wear at least 2x a week.

  5. Elaine: You got me wondering about it too! So I took a look at the back of the watch and it reads: "WR 30M" which means water resistant up to 30 meters. But it does not mean it is water proof. In reality, in means "will resist moisture and can be submerged, no swimming". So you can wear it while taking a shower, but you should not use it for swimming. (JCAs, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.) :)

  6. Oooooooh thank goodness. Thanks for the info, Alexis. I couldn't believe I did it. I took it off immediately and dried it off (as if that would help, lol) but I'm very relieved to know if I get caught in the rain or whatever it will be ok. Phewwfffff! :)

  8. Elaine, you can cut/trim the watch bands. The nylon ones you trim, and then seal the cut edge with a lit match (it doesn't catch on fire, sort of melts smooth) for a few seconds. The calf hair one you can probably just cut! I do it all the time, b/c I have the men's timex watches too, and those bands are WAY too long. The SA's in my b&m store told me to trim them this way.
And yes, it is 'waterproof' if you read the chart in the info that comes with it, and yes, Alexis, that 30R on the back is how you tell where to look on the chart for the explanation.

  9. Maybe I'll try the cut 'n singe on one of the $2 bands just in case anything goes awry! I was so excited to have the watch that I didn't even read the leaflet -- must go back and do so. They should mention that on the website, as I'd say it's a selling point.

    Thanks y'all!
