  1. I am tempted to get the dovetail shirtdress but... must.... resist...

Loving the free shipping, no code required! Wish J.Crew would do that once in a while.

  2. I placed my first Madewell order this past weekend and it's now on my favorite store list! Ordered the Ice Dance Dress, Lampost Sweaterdress, Holiday Henley Sweater and the Rowboat Sweater. I'm keeping everything! The quality of everything is fabulous. Everything is wool and no acrylic. The customer service is also great. Two of the items dropped in price yesterday. I emailed Madewell last nite and within an hour receieved a response saying they would credit me!

  3. I have to agree about the great customer service. I have shopped there quite a bit and twice I have had an item that I ordered not ship due to lack of inventory. However, on both occasions, a CS called me to apologize profusely, ask me if there was anything else I would like to get instead with the shipping waived (even applied expired promos), and if there wasn't anything that I wanted at the time they would note my account to give me free shipping on my next order. Overall, they're very helpful :)

  5. @serenastarr Did you find the rowboat sweater fits true to size? I've only ordered two tops from Madewell and both times I wish I would have sized down.

    Thanks for your help!

  6. I listed all the items that are part of the 25% off 'Fall Favorites' on my blog here yesterday. :)

  7. McKinney - the rowboat sweater runs very large! It is not meant to be a fitted sweater at all. I ordered my usual size small and it's huge but I do like it because it will look great with leggings and tall boots. I considered sending it back and getting an XS but is has 3/4 sleeves and I don't want to loose any sleeve length as I have long arms. HTH!

  8. serenastarr,

What is the exact content of those sweaters? They are listed on the site as blends. Just curious as I liked both of those, but can't stand poly or acrylic in my sweaters.

I do like Madewell and think they have great service.

  9. kitsmommy - I made a mistake! I thought all three sweaters were 100% wool but I was wrong! The lampost sweater dress is 100% merino wool and the rowboat sweater is 40% acrylic, 30% merino wool and 30% alpaca. The holiday henley is 45% acrylic, 37% alpaca and 18% merino wool.

  10. @serenastarr Thanks for your feedback! I confidently sized down and placed my order. I'm a shorty and was concerned how it would fit under my almost-too-small Mackage coat. Can't wait to get it!

I've been eyeing the Rowboat sweater on Shopbop for a while now and it's still $118 there. It's called the 'Barco Slouchy Tunic Sweater' on their site, but it's the same thing.

  11. Serenastarr, thanks for the info. I love both JC and Madewell sweaters and wish they would stop using so many blends.

I ordered the Alexa Risky Business shirt and got it on Friday. I highly recommend it. The silk is lovely and it will be a great piece for the holidays as is has a nice sheen.

  12. I bought the Alexa Chung for madewell business shirt yesterday in store, they were only around $30, super great deal. There are also tons of other stuff marked down. I love madewell sweaters, much better than jcrew, butI won't buy any right now because the big sale is just around the corner.
