  1. Got a Crewcuts t-shirt in place of the Sperry boots I ordered during the staywarm promo. This is the
5th time I have received an order with a wrong or missing item. Boo.

  2. Full of issues today. In addition to my WWFI issue (posted in last week's thread by mistake I think), I'm on the sale site trying to add the Jenna cardigan to my cart and each time I hit "add to cart" it refreshes the whole page. I've tried in two different browsers and can't get it to work.

  3. I got a few items delivered from the 25% off promo, so disappointed. The schoolboy blazer in gray wool flannel showed up with the entire right arm seam open - I swear, does anyone do quality control??

Also recieved the Adelle long dress in silk taffeta in spiced wine. Maybe it's just my monitor but it looked to be a rich cranberry - perfect for this gala in Dec. I have to go to. However it showed up and the color is much more purple - I would almost call it a dusty grape. Ugh. Both items are going back.

  4. I just brought a few things to get fixed at the tailors - all J.Crew items. Buttons falling apart, very loosely threaded buttons, zipper broken on arrival (which I'm getting fixed because the item is sold out and J.Crew is picking up the tab but that belongs on the looking to love post). For as much as these clothes cost, they should be able to tolerate a few years of wear, much less the first try on!

  5. I got a damaged sweater a few days ago. Customer service says it is now sold out and couldn't find one for me. Then they said I could preorder it and it would be a few weeks... fine. Then I was randomly charged for it, and then I got an email a day later saying they had no more. WTF?! I called again and they did a find it for me, said they found one, but then it was sold out. So annoyed.

  6. I ordered the snowbound sweater a few weeks ago. I love it and have worn it 2-3 times. However, last Friday night, as I was putting it on one of the shoulder [non-functional] buttons popped off. Wow, a decorative, non-used button lasts two wears? Pretty bad quality.

  7. I've had good luck with my 25% promo order items being what I ordered (even though I am returning a few because in person, not a lover) but what I want to know is, where are the beautiful embellished tees for the holiday season? Nothing this year. Zip. Zilch. Just boring plain colored tees or SEQUINS...enough with the sequins. On my blog (vivalabeagle.blogspot.com) I have posted some pics of years past embellished tees...how I miss adding to my collection!

  8. Shariyu, they have some pretty embellished tees at the Factory stores. They have several different snowflake ones, a reindeer one, and others. Worth checking out if you live near a factory store...

  9. This is off-topic (as usual), but I wasn't sure where else to post this. I ordered a black j.crew sweater from eBay and the seller sent me a navy one. You can see a photo here. Has anybody experienced this before? The seller said no returns, but the item was clearly not as described! I would love some advice.

    :) Jen

  10. Jen, I think you're still covered under eBay and PayPal policy because the item was not as described. I'd just contact the seller first - it may have been a mistake on their part (I've been sent a completely wrong item before by accident) - and give them the opportunity to fix it. If you don't have any luck dealing with the seller directly, eBay should be able to help. Good luck!

  11. Jen, I agree with Silver_Lining - you are protected by EBay buyer policy.

    Whew!

  12. Hi, all. Has anyone else flipped up the collar of their Schoolboy Blazer? Interfacing!? Are all their current blazer collars like that?

  13. One thing that bothers me but may be a positive for others is that I often see a glut of current offerings on ebay. For example, there are a lot of the hacking jackets available on ebay right now. It's not an item on my wishlist but it makes me wonder... are these all defective items, where are they coming from and why are there so many on ebay? If I'm buying one online or in the B&M, should I be concerned about the quality? Why should I pay full price to buy it from J.Crew if I can buy it cheaper on ebay?

    KWIM?

  15. To respond to the schoolboy question- I just recently noticed my Donegal from last year has the same interfacing fabric under the collar!

About the ebay, I am curious as well. Usually my answer with current items on ebay is that they're stolen from the factory or from the store (or knockoffs). But in those cases it's often multiples, but in this case the vendors selling numerous current items usually only have one or 2 sizes- I'm dubious, but also tempted, especially since J Crew is only stocking 1 at a time in the blazer I want so it sells out constantly and is never available during promos!

  16. As much as I hate to admit it, I was at fault. I got confused between two listings. The seller in question was very nice and offered a return anyways, but I decided to keep the cardigan since it was my oversight.

  17. I ordered 3 Vintage cotton v necks, and they are all different from each other. The grey is like a cotton jersey, the blush is like their old "airy slub" which I hated, and the hyacinth is a little thicker version of the "airy slub." I have no idea what is truly "vintage cotton." Since I hate "airy slub" I am hesitant to order anymore, which is a bummer as I like the fit of the v.

  18. I might add, this is happening with the Cashmere Shawl collar sweaters, where I ordered 2 different colors in the same size S, but they both are different sizes. grrr

  19. As to the eBay items that are current- I think a lot of them are probably items that have been purchased at one of the clearance stores and then marked up to be put on eBay. Often there is nothing wrong with the items or something very minor. I LOVE shopping at the clearance stores when I get a chance, but it slightly annoys me resellers are getting all of the "good stuff" to resell.

  20. This isn't nearly as ridiculous as jbird's crewcuts tee instead of Sperry boots mix up, but I just received a scoop-neck perfect-fit tee in a bag marked "small" (what I ordered), but I can see, clear as day, that the tee inside is a medium. Ah. I've asked CS to figure out a way that I can get my small, give them back their medium, and not spend a fortune returning their mistake to them from Canada.

Target has this EXACT watch for $34.00, I bought it last night!
so annoying that j.crew charges 3x that much.

  23. Recently ordered two purses... they are shipped but UPS.com says the package weighs .7 pounds. 99% sure there are NOT two purses in there :( Crossing my fingers that it's a mistake!
