Happy Thanksgiving Day! {celebrating w/ J.Crew}?

First and foremost... Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone! It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones and enjoy a fantastic meal. It also officially starts the Holiday season. :)

Per JCA tradition, this post is to find out what everyone is going to wear. I find it really interesting to see what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing (and of course it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits). :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear on Thanksgiving Day? :)

For tomorrow, I plan on going casual but chic. I am going to go with J.Crew's Lexington Jacket (in gray with white trim), Perfect-fit Long-Sleeve V-neck Tee (Item 97761; $24.50), and the Printed Scarf in Wool (Item 51927; $59.50). This outfit is finished off with a pair of Anthropologie's Dixie Trousers (Style 21114186; $98.00) in Red.

What are you planning to wear this Thanksgiving Day? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, Alexis! And thanks for your blog. What you're planning to wear sounds wonderful. I haven't figured it out yet (likely JC head to toe) but in the meantime, should we be thankful there's a 25% off everything and free ship for $150+ promotion with YOURGIFT? I did my damage here

  2. Happy Thanksgiving, Alexis! Your outfit looks great!

I plan to wear an apron for part of the day, as I will be cooking the bird for my friends. Beyond that, it's safe to say I will probably be wearing something by J. Crew.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving Alexis! Hope you have a wonderful day. Your outfit looks great.

I'll be decked out in J.Crew of course, maybe something inspired from the website. I'll post outfit pics on my blog.

Yay, is right for another sale. I'm off to check it out. :)

  4. Alexis: Your outfit is perfect! As for me, I plan to wear my brand new Anthropologie Tiered Stripes dress with black patterned JC tights and brown suede Hype slingbacks.
    Happy T-Day everyone!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving Alexis and Everyone! :) I haven't decided what I'm wearing yet, but I'm sure at least part of my outfit will be from J.Crew.

  7. Now that I've thought on it, my dream outfit would be the sequin blouse (item #52353) with the Minnie pant in stretch twill in British Khaki (item #: 18850) and Valentina snakeskin pumps (item #: 57110). For my accessories, I'll don a simple cobalt blue bead gold necklace that I found at an estate sale and gold ball earrings...I hope it doesn't end up looking comical, lol. But that's only if we do end up doing T-day dinner at a restaurant.

  9. @ Bourbon & Pearls: Thanksgiving Day is Thursday - I think that Alexis is just sending out her happy holiday wishes early for those who won't be Mothershipping tomorrow :) Happy Thanksgiving to Alexis and all of the JCA's...as always, I'm very thankful for this terrific blog!

I think I'll be wearing my Selvedge Chambray shirt, red J Brand skinnies, and cheap-o leopard loafers that I scored on Amazon. I'd usually be in my woolen faves, but it's been in the high 70's-low 80's here in GA!

Just picked up the Harvest Tweed Gimlet skirt with the YOURGIFT promo...it's either going to be much prettier or a lot uglier than I imagine irl, haha.

  10. Happy Turkey Day! I'm thinking about pairing my Quincy tartan with a pair of skinny black pants from Lands' End.

Can't wait to see what the in-store sale is Friday because I've been stalking the Blythe blouse in extravagant green forever. I know they finally dropped the price online.

  11. I'll probably be wearing the ultra-knit lounge pants in navy and the striped thermal henley in navy/champagne, as I don't intend on getting off the couch for most of the day (unless it's to go to the dinner table, ha!).

Happy Thanksgiving, JCAs - and Alexis, thank you so much for providing the forum for this wonderful community!

  12. I haven't decided yet what to wear but there's a good chance it will include the Crew. Love everyone else's ideas - Happy Thanksgiving!

  13. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's not a holiday here in Canada but I am working from home so there *may* be football on in the afternoon.

Alexis, I love the pic for this post. I have the pumpkin-colored Robert Noble tweed jacket and the reversible cashmere scarf (worn with the red jacket) from that catalog. There were some lovelies that season.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving JCAs!

I have some car travel involved so I'm taking the comfort factor into consideration: navy/black tux jacket from a couple of years ago, tartan perfect shirt, black patent belt, matchstick jeans (all J. Crew), Anthro fanfare platforms, and oversized multi-strand pearls.

Sounds a little Christmas-y now that I think of it. Maybe I should wear the black and white checked shirt instead. Hmmmm ...

  16. I'm either going to wear my bahia print silk twill shirtdress, or the colorblock minimalist sweater in flame/acorn... depending on how cooking goes, lol! hopefully my man will be wearing the heathered utility shirt in grey that i got him as an early xmas gift. i really like that shirt, might even get one for myself!

  17. Hey, you're wearing something very similar to my planned outfit! I was thinking Vibrant Flame Minnies + crisp white shirt + Hadley sweater in Acorn or a dark grey sweater jacket + perhaps modern red driving scarf. With the ton of snow we just got I might have to go warmer though. Happy Turkey!
