30% Off & Free Shipping on Select J.Crew Sweaters for Men, Women, & Kids

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Rose (in this post), as well as Irina, who shared the latest promotion from J.Crew with us today.

J.Crew is offering 30% off *and* free shipping on select Sweaters for Women (click here to shop online) and Men (click here to shop online), as well as Crewcuts. This offer ends Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The fine print includes:
*Prices as marked at jcrew.com. Discount taken at register in stores. Offer valid on women's, men's and kids' sweaters only and cannot be redeemed for cash or applied to previous purchases. Offer valid at jcrew.com and J.Crew retail stores only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores. Offer not valid on cashmere or third-party brands in stores. Offer valid through Wednesday, November 30, 2011, 11:59pm ET on Internet orders shipped via regular shipping (3 to 6 business days). Free shipping applies to online orders of women's, men's and kids' sweaters only. Free ground shipping on women's, men's and kids' sweaters is applied automatically at checkout. Offer not valid on phone orders. Terms of offer are subject to change at any time.
This offer doesn't seem that great compared to the last few ones. I was hoping to see an additional percent off their sale. But I will say that I am {pleasantly} surprised by how many promotions they are running back-t0-back. I will take what I can get! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any Sweaters you are interested in getting? If so, please share!

  1. It's nice that this promo is not just for women's sweaters. So often the guys are left out of the promos!

  2. Wow, guess their sweaters must not be selling that well (acrylic at high price points, whodathunkit?). Please, nobody purchase any Dream sweaters (I'm kidding...sort of) - I'd love to see them cease and desist with that awful yarn!

  3. The cambridge cable sweater was plainly awful. I ordered a couple of them during a promo and they went right back to the store. They shed everywhere, making my nose go haywire. I couldn't imagine what pants to wear them with, since they even shed onto my jeans.

  4. Some of the cashmere sweaters that were on sale are reduced by less than 30% and some, like the snowbound, are not reduced further.

  5. I agree re:dream yarn. NEVER agin will I buy any sweater made with it -- it pilled after 2 wearings and now looks so worn & shabby I can't wear it outside the house.

Ditto for the ones with mohair and acrylic content that shed like crazy! I had to borrow a lint brush from the store after trying on the honeycomb sweater -- it shed all over, including the inside of my schoolboy blazer. Too bad cuz I liked the sweater.

  6. Connor - I had the same experience trying on the Honeycomb sweater, there was literally shedding bits of yarn flying all over the fitting room when I tried it on!

  7. Also, I see they've hidden the Long Sleeve Cashmere Tees AGAIN for this promo. That tactic is getting really, really old.

  8. I was just about to place an order on the honeycomb but am so glad I came here just before hitting the checkout button.

  9. Caitlin, for the cashmere LS tees, click here or enter 53268 in the search box.

HTH. They were there first thing this morning, I checked.

  10. Caitlin, just search on cashmere tee and it will come up. $158.00 down to $110.60. I think I am going to finally get my 'something' in heather spearmint that I have been craving all fall/winter. Does the cashmere tee run TTS could someone let me know please?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thank you xoxo and Josanne! And Josanne, I find the cashmere tees to run TTS, a bit slimmer through the body than most of JC's sweaters. HTH!

  12. how do the cashmere tees and cardigans run thru the arms? it seems J.crew sweaters i'm fine with a small but shirts I have to go up a size so my cubby arms don't suffocate.

  13. I ordered the cable stitch sweater on saturday (25% off and free shipping) - it was waitlisted until december so I called CS this a.m. and asked for a price adjustment for 30% off and free shipping and it was no problem. They cancelled the waitlist and then re-ordered at the lower price. BTW has anyone tried these on - I wondered if they ran big. And I have to say, so many times free shipping offers don't apply to PO BOXES and this one does which makes my life sooo much easier.

  14. Thanks for the sizing info on the cashmere tee. I am going to order both sizes just to be safe.

  15. I may bite on the cashmere sweaters too -- can anyone comment on the quality of this year's cashmere? I have ones from 2008 & 2009 that have pilled badly while my Bloomingdale's private label & Ann Taylor cashmeres from 10 yrs ago barely show any wear.

On a positive note, JC does merino wool sweaters very well. I've experienced minimal pilling and shrinking (I handwash mine).

Any comments on the fit of Cashmere Cable sweater? I'm tempted to pick up one of the luscious colors, but wonder if they'll get marked down lower as the season progresses. It's not a must-have for me.

  16. No sweaters for me, our high today is 65* so we are certainly too warm for sweaters. In fact there isn't much out right now that really peaks my interest. I loved the original Fall roll out but have been bored ever since....

Maybe I have really just had more than enough crewlade and it is time for a break?

  17. MegCrew,

I hear you! Been so warm here for over a week now. I have not even worn a winter coat yet. Don't need any sweaters:) Yeah! Plus, there is not one that really stands out as "special" this year.

  18. I just came from my local store and they pulled the Heart Me sweaters from the floor for the promo. They only have 2-3 left in XXS too so it is very popular.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I got one of the men's cashmere sweaters for my husband. Perfect for Christmas! Great promo...I'm tempted to get something for *me* too, but there's just nothing I'm dying for.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I saw a picture of Michelle Obama in the red heart me sweater - that might explain their sudden popularity.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Nothing for me. Not a fan of most of this year's sweaters -- aside from fabric content, I'm having trouble picking the right size consistently. Also, my Thanksgiving Day order is sitting on my porch as we speak, yay! :)

  22. Stopped by the South Street Seaport store today - my first time in the original J.Crew store, yay! - and picked up Jenna's cardigan in wildcat. I already own the wildcat dress (fabulous dress btw) and I hate doubling up on prints, but this cardi reminds me almost exactly of the Spotted cat cardigan from '06 or '07 which was one of my favorite items ever (and amazingly still in good condition before I parted with it recently) and I've been looking for something like it since I lost weight a few years back. I didn't even know about the 30% off promo until I got to the register and they let me stack my student discount so it ended up being quite a good deal! Also snagged the cashmere fingerless gloves on sale for $14.99.

Being on staycation for two weeks has not been gentle to my wallet, though I have been on something of a JC treasure hunt ;) In the past week I've hit every NYC store except collection (no fun sale offerings to sift through), bridal and the men's shops, and also my usual favorite store on Madison Avenue which I plan to visit tomorrow. Managed to snag Jenna's v-neck cardi on sale in every color except black and vibrant flame so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll eventually connect with one or both. I ordered the ivory online during yesterday's promo and may do the same with the navy since that seems to be an online only color, but I just can't rationalize buying the black or vibrant flame online when they're $39.99 in stores.

Btw if any of my fellow JCAs have questions about the sale offerings at any of the NYC stores, please feel free to send them my way. I'm practically an expert now ;)

  23. Has anyone tried the cashmere cascade sweater and can comment about fit and quality? I love the look of it, but can't tell if it's worth the $$. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  24. moke, FLOTUS and her followers can have the Heart Me sweaters, the quality and fit are awful IMO. I returned mine tout de suite. Still itching just thinking about it.

Crazy sheeple buying icky sweaters just because MO was wearing one. Honestly!

  25. Dara-
I just received the cashmere fingerless gloves today (in the neon azalea, which seem to be sold out now). On the website they say catalogue/jcrew.com only. You got them in the store?? For that cheap?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jessy, I was mistaken on the gloves, they were soft and I saw the cashmere ones online so I thought that's what they were, but they're actually the honeycomb fingerless gloves according to my receipt. I checked the label and they're only 15% cashmere so a dream blend I think. Makes a lot more sense for the price.

  27. Hopefully they still have some kind of AMAZING offer up their sleeves...perhaps they want to outdo the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales????

    ReplyDelete
  28. xoxo - I hear ya'.

Also, it was interesting that they had more than a passing resemblance to the Jcrew / Commes de Garcons t-shirt collaboration. Minus the eyes at inappropriate chest level.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dara, did you notice if any of the stores you were at had the Lady Lace Popover sweater in larger sizes?? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am at the checkout and free shipping was not automatically applied to my order. is there any sort of promotion code i need? i really need to make this order before midnight tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  31. zoestamoulis, free shipping is only on sweaters. If you are checking out with only sweaters then I'd make the order and then call CS to get a credit for the shipping. If you're checking out with items other than sweaters you will be charged shipping on those items.

  32. Just opened my box and the Dream Turtleneck in heather aqua is a really great color. Brighter than expected, and the sweater is softer than the black version I ordered prior.

  33. Thought I would share.... Holiday catalog is AWESOME!! Gorgeous color combinations....

Down here my store got some great new items... Cotton pencil skirts in Cobalt Blue, Limey Green (Like last year), black. Color toothpick jeans in great colors for us down here (yellow, coral..). Some really pretty scarves!

Resort comes in end of the month and I saw a preview.... OMG - so nice!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jruby18, I really don't recall seeing the lady lace popover, though they may have had a few of them here and there which I missed. In general, I was seeing lots of mediums, larges and x-larges in the sale merchandise.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have given up on J Crew cashmere. My popover from last season ($115 dollars on sale) is absolutely full of pills. Even after combing it, it looks terrible. That said, today you can get 40% off at LE on one item, with free shipping if the total is more than $50. Great opportunity to try their cashmere, which is exactly what I did!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Millcrew-I had sneak peak at some of the resort pieces. OMG loving some things already. I think that collection will do well. The color is coming back! Way to go J Crew:)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've got a tropical vacation to look forward to in February, so I'm excited about the resort pieces to come!

  38. Has anyone tried the Wynter V Neck? Or the Crystal Button Cardigan?

Re the Dream sweaters, I have a grey and white stripe Dream cardigan from 2 years back that I love. It's light and perfectly warm. It does pill a bit but I'm wondering if, like most other JC items, the quality is no longer the same.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tigercat, the Crystal button cardigan is really pretty in person and runs on the large side. I always migrate towards sweaters in this knit, like the Crystal button cardis from '09 and the Delphine cardis from last year, but I've found that they do not last more than one season without getting very shabby looking. It's sad because I really enjoy them. Just a warning. Regardless, I totally want the red but I think I'm going to wait until the price drops further.
