Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  3. Went to the 5th ave store just to try some items on (famous last words). There's still not one sale item in the store. Tried on the wool cafe capris and loved them, but the yacht blue was sold out in my size. Purchased the Paisley pencil skirt and the resin and rhinestone link necklace because the blue is gorgeous.

  4. used the personal shopper for the first time this weekend... she preordered the red "teddie" dress from the lookbook for me and was able to apply the 20% cardholder discount to it... with all the pretty fall things, i think i'm going to be asking for her help A LOT! (my advance apologies to my wallet)

  5. I went to the SLC Fashion Place temporary store yesterday and was pretty underwhelmed... they had a lot of Tippis (pretty colors!) and the controversial leopard-print pencil skirt, but it seemed like mostly basics.

Hopefully, when they're finished with the remodel in the new space, they'll have a better variety of stock (more shoes and accessories would be really nice).

  6. I walked in to my local store in Portland to find no sale section. At all. For the most part I only shop sale so I didn't get anything. Bummer.

  7. Nothing for me. I'm still mad that my nail polish arrived in the mail with polish spilled all down the front of it. Hello, quality control?!

Nice to see the swimwear promo but I've barely been in the pool all summer, so I have no business buying more swimsuits, lol.

  8. Yep! Reviews on the wool cafe capri, paisley pencil skirt, origami mini, maisie dress, mona pumps, ticking stripe derby dress, ruthie shirtdress, schoolboy blazer, tippi sweater, blythe blouse, and boy shirt in quincy tartan on my blog (the reviews of the shirts will be up today):

My personal shopper carried the cardholder's 20% off into the store, so I got the paisley pencil skirt (still plenty in stock at the Pittsburgh B&M) for $102, two tippi sweaters for $55.60 each, and the No. 2 double-serge pencil skirt for $98.

  9. I am totally disappointed! Both of my nearby J.Crews have gotten rid of the sale sections completely (Glen Mills, PA and Whitehall, PA). Because of the consistent decline in the quality of J.Crew's merchandise and the equally consistent rise in prices, I've only found myself shopping sale because I am betting on that cute skirt, or sequined sweater to fall apart after a half-dozen wears. All of the crap that J.Crew has been pulling as of late (can we also mention that season to season, year to year, their clothes have started just looking EXACTLY the same!?) and their reduction in sizes and availability is making me realize I should do what I have been talking a big game about for a while now - I'm no longer purchasing from this company until it's variety, quality and price point all meet somewhere in the middle.

  10. Checked out the Columbus Circle NYC store. The Encore Trench was available in sz 6, 8, & 10. I had expected the tulle to be much softer, but I guess to get the right thickness for volume, they had to sacrifice on texture? If you wear pants, it'll be fine. Not sure how it would feel with a short dress/skirt. I didn't try one on since they didn't have my size, so no comments on fit.

Picked up the Poppy King lipstick. I expected the color to be more orange, based on the photos on the Jcrew blog & previous reviews. But it came out more red on me. Not a makeup guru so no clue why that is. No regrets though, it was a nice matte color and stayed on relatively well.

  11. Only shopped the outlet, got a henley of some sort (haven't looked up the actual item name) for about $7, the russian roulette Essie polish for about $5, and picked up a few $10 button downs for the bf. He always ends up with the better deal. Love the henley I picked up because it's a great color, length and quite comfy... but he got REAL clothes for the same price, not just a lounge shirt. Grr!

  12. My stores (Atlanta, Buford, and Dunwoody, GA) all have NO sale. I talked the the sales person about it and she said that they won't have any sale for a couple of months because they're trying to make a big deal about the fall line.
