  1. I had great customer service during the 40% off and free shipping promotion not too long ago. Basically, my online order did not go through, but I did not realize that for hours. So my purse (Bahia Hobo) that I ordered was sold out online, but after calling customer service she found my purse in a store. The phone conversation lasted no longer than five minutes, too! Even better, the store price was less than the online price ($19.99) so that was honored with the 40%! I got the purse for only $12.96. So nice!

Post about my experience/review of purse here:

  3. Great customer service yesterday at Barton Creek Square location in Austin. Was in last Friday with my daughter and bought three items full price and used my rewards card, but forgot to ask for the student discount...went back yesterday with my receipt and our favorite SA honored the discount and made the price adjustment! Saved us almost $40!

  4. I love the richer, more vibrant colors for fall. And I love much of the styling in the new catalog ... for the first time in several seasons I have lots of dog-eared pages of outfits I could actually wear IRL.

Good riddance to last year's crazy layering, rats-nest hair, washed-out colors, and frayed everything. Quality problems aside, the styling of the fall rollout is much more wearable IMO.

  5. ITA w/FFM, Free Ship w/ No Minimum is awesome!

I also would like to rave about the lady lace popover, which fits like a dream and which I cannot WAIT to wear. :) I caved yesterday and ordered it in gray since the gray one in my LOVEIT order got canceled (BOO -- I still think in situations like this they should give it to you for the price you originally had it at, what a concept!).

  6. Txmom, I’m glad you got good customer service there. I usually get good customer service at that store too, especially from one of the girls there. She was great to work with last week when I was there.

On another note, I love it when J.Crew offers free shipping with no minimum. And I loved for once that my item came in the mail packaged well. The plastic wasn’t opened with the item inside and the actual mailing envelope was actually put together all the way..yay! This was a first and I really appreciated it! :)

  7. Just got an email announcing 20% off and free shipping on new arrivals for cardholders through Aug. 25...better than nothing!

  8. Correction: 20% off and free shipping for the ORDER OF YOUR CHOICE -- "just in time for new arrivals." Online only. Not sure if it is one time use only.

  9. Jcrew's customer service remains top-notch. I complained about a cashmere item sent in the wrong color from the recent 40% LOVEIT promo. They promptly refunded my account and offered to apply the 40% off if the color pops back or for any other color that might be of interest to me.

  10. I wonder if I open a card if I can get 20% off. I know they had a promo like that but it expired. My husband wants a pair of shoes that are never going to be on sale. 20% is the best we'll ever get, I'm sure.

  11. Still waiting on my cardholder email. I never seem to get those until days after everyone else does! Boo!

    Elaine,

How does the lady lace popover fit? I think I am going to pull the trigger on the gray one! I usually wear an XS in J.Crew tops..TIA

  12. Loved visiting the Copley Place Store in Boston yesterday. The store was especially spiffy - it turns out that Mickey was visiting.

Loved the service that I got from AJ. He was very helpful with sizing, which has changed dramaticly this season. I'm usually a 12, sometimes a 14, and the navy blue lace pencil skirt fit me well in size 10. I find that disconcerting and it keep me from ordering stuff online (even at FP since I hate the process of returning things).

Loved the Emmaleigh suiting dress, which was tailored to me perfectly in a size 12 - even though I'm bigger on top.

Loved loved loved the Martina wedge shoe, which is not yet online or in catalogs. Very clean and classic. Kudos to JCrew for eliminating the unsightly seam along the side. It is more expensive to make a show that way but makes it more likely that I will pay full price. Size up on those.

  14. I received the August catalog without having to call and ask! Maybe will be a trend here. Also, placed an order for a couple things I knew I would not want to be without(i.e., the viridian skirt) and all arrived within a couple days with regular shipping.

  15. ITA w/ FFM!

Elaine: I love my lady lace in gray. I can't wait to wear it but it's so hot here! If your order got cancelled I would suggest calling and asking for them to price match since it was their fault for not geting the inventory figured out. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Marie, are you for real? They offered to price-match at 40% off if it pops back? because if that's true i'll be making a phone call. That's the exact situation i was referring to GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

  17. Nicole, I found the LLP to fit true to size. Some had mentioned when it first came out that they felt it ran small/slim in the arms, but I did not find that to be the case for me. I normally wear an 8 or Med in J Crew tops and ordered a Medium, and it fits perfectly.

Some day I will get that blossom-y pink one! Trifecta! lol. HTHs

  18. So happy about the cardholder e-mail with 20% off and FS! It's nice that it came so soon after the fall rollout.

  19. Elaine, if I'm not mistaken your situation is a bit different (your order got cancelled). My order was filled but they mistakenly sent the wrong color. By the time I notified them of their error, the color I ordered was no longer available. Unfortunately, that color has not popped back since then in my size so I have not taken advantage of their offer to apply the 40%. Not sure how long their offer will last though.

OT, received the one-time 20% off order for cardholders this morning. My shopping cart is full so my paycheck will take a big hit this month. Anyway, thanks JCrew, love you!

  20. I too love the lady lace popover. Getting it in the middle of summer SUCKS though... I want to wear it nowwwwww!!!

I loved the LOVEIT promo, hope they do that again sometime...

  21. Thanks, Elaine! It will be mine!!

  22. Love card member promos like today's 20% off and free shipping! Thank Jcrew!

  23. Thank you, J Crew for the 20% off and free shipping through August 24th! I'm sure I will find a use for it :)

  24. Thanks to the help of some very kind JCAs (s.ludlum, Elaine, & LauraK) I was able to find the Shrunken Fisherman Sweater in Beechwood a couple of weeks ago at a B&M in Ridgeland, MS (none of the Michigan stores I visited had one). The SA there was SO NICE and helpful and would you believe yesterday she called to check in with me to make sure I received the sweater and was happy with it! I wish she worked at a store here in Michigan...that is amazing customer service!

  25. ITA with Ruffles. I love the wearable styling in the latest catalog.

  26. I know this bothers some but I love when you are in the sale section online, the back button takes you to where you left off :) The regular section makes me crazy by making me scroll all the way down to where I want to continue "window shopping"

    ReplyDelete
  27. oh, snap... I have been traveling and somehow overlooked missed the 20% for cardholders email. Thank goodness for JCAs!

I may make use of this to splurge on some fall items, since it beats even the 15% + red phone.
