Sneak Peek Into J.Crew's June Catalog

A big "thanks!" to an Michelle who shared these four upcoming June catalog images with us. (Just click on either image for a larger view.)

From the initial images, I am enjoying their Summer offerings. Some of the ballet flats & button down tops look super cute. Not sure about the dress which seems a bit short for me. In any case, I cannot wait to see what the rest of the catalog has to offer! :)
On another note, these images must mean that new arrivals are just around the corner. Should we expect to see them at J.Crew stores and online next week? {yey!}

What are your thoughts on the upcoming catalog from J.Crew? Do you like the clothes and styling? Are you excited about new arrivals coming soon?

  1. I am in love with the jade color. I've been waiting for it to hit stores since the runways had it sprinkled throughout the past couple of years. YAY!

  2. LOL, I still haven't received the May catalog in the mail. Not that I need it since I picked up a copy from the store, but still! Can't wait to check this one out once it's available.

  4. The dress in the first image is the Mirabel Dress. I hadn't noticed it online before today. Did they add a few more new arrivals, or did I just miss it before?

  5. FFM I noticed the Mirabel a few days ago. They added it after the initial release along with the Kiev blouse that was called the Ukranian blouse (for about 2 days), an extremely pricey collection piece that is already sold out. I wonder why they keep changing the names.
Nicole, you might want to email them and tell them you are not getting your catalogs. I did this a few months back. I got two this month, go figure.

  6. OT, sort of...I purchased the light blue with yellow sleeve version of the Maribel dress, called the Siesta dress in the store last week. I LOVE yellow and blue. I got the 6, but often need an 8 in J Crew dresses. I am tall and did not find it to be too short. The length was similar to the length on the model in the shot of the Siesta dress online. It was a little tight across the back/shoulders but I don't plan on doing any crazy arm moves in it. I think I am pretty narrow in the shoulders too. So keep that in mind. Others found the Casbah blouse to be tight across the shoulders and I did not have that problem, but it was rather boxy on me. Sorry for the long review. :)

  7. I had stopped receiving catalogs at about the same time I started buying lots of shoes from J Crew. :) I signed up for catalogs again several weeks ago and got the May one just recently.

I'm hoping that there will be some clothing suitable for wearing in the office. I'm a little disappointed with the spring/summer clothes, far too casual for the workplace. I don't wear suits but we do have a business casual dress code and the outfits I'm seeing so much of in the catalogs and on the web site wouldn't be appropriate, especially the sheer blouses!

  8. Does anyone know anything about the Cammy Utility pant? I'm thinking about trying them but don't know what the sizing is like. I normally wear a size 4 and have 37" hips. Any help would be great.

  9. Anyone wish they would use some different models? Kind of tired of this girl AND the one all over the website...

  10. Shekster - I bought the Siesta dress in store as well. (I used my rewards card.) It is so cute with the yellow embroidery at the sleeves! Personally, I think it looks best worn with a belt. (That is how they showed it on a model at my B&M.) I'd say fits TTS, I took my normal size. Definitely a cute summer dress that is even work appropriate for my business casual office.

Might need to check out the sale section with the free shipping offer. Otherwise, am anxiously awaiting my other order from the cardholder discount last week. :) Happy Monday!

  11. I saw a cobalt blue and white ikat pattern perfect (?) shirt in the last Marie Claire magazine and I am dutifully waiting for its arrival - maybe in this next new release?!

  12. For me, J. Crew is missing tops to go under cardigans and jackets that have a little more coverage than the camis I've been seeing. I can't wear some of these low cut tops under blazers at work and I don't want to wear something as bulky as a full on button down shirt.

I'm reconciling myself with the likelihood that I need to explore other retailers for short sleeve or sleeveless tops that aren't cut too low or made too thin and also don't require dry cleaning. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I'm hoping I find them.

  13. I agree, I love that green color, it's beautiful!

jinks, I bought the Cammy utility pants for $19.99 last week and I couldn't get them past my calves. I would not buy them unless you can return them. They fit very oddly, sort of like the Trouper pants but less stretchy and with a shorter inseam. Mine are going back immediately.

  14. Thanks Elaine. I had my suspicions that they were weird because of the price and the fact that they had every size in every color. But I love my cargo pants, so I was hoping against hope. Thanks again.

  15. The Mirabel went up on Friday. I ended up ordering the black version, which I hope to have by Friday. Today, I went to the B&M and found a white version. I posted pics and a review on my blog if you're interested. It's a great dress.

  16. Elizabeth, I totally agree! More tops to go under cardigans! More short sleeved tops, I say. (Without 20" neck sizes, that is.) Most women are working and can't spend all of their days leaping about wearing skimpy tops (and hats). :) I wish though, I do buy lottery tickets.

  17. Jinks, I haven't tried the Cammys, but I do recommend the Riveter pant. It is less fitted/tight in the calves than the Trouper pant and is both comfy and flattering. Best of all it is only $9.99 in stores or $19.99 online. I liked my first pair so much I got the other color as well. HTH!

  18. BeyondtheBlue, I'm intrigued by the Cammy pant as I quite like the Troupers and having a similar style in the pink color could be nice for spring. Did you order your usual chino size or did you size down like many of us did in the Troupers?

  19. xoxo, I am still somewhat mystified by J Crews sizing in pants, but if it helps I wear the same size in the Riveter as I do the Trouper, so I imagine you would as well. The pinkish color is really quite pretty...sort of a blend of rose and warm tan. The nice thing about the Riveter for me is that it is a little less fitted in the calf area allowing me to roll them for a more Springy look, but they will also be good to wear with tall boots in the colder months. They have some nice details like the seaming and zippered pockets. I definitely think they are a great deal for the price!

  20. I ordered the Cammy Pant a couple days ago because I liked the green colorway and the price, my usual size 4 and a 6 just in case. But it sounds like they are going back ... bummed, my calves are NOT thin. Sorry I missed the Trouper, those seem to have a more universally flattering fit.

  21. CCS thanks for the idea to wear a belt with the Siesta dress. Did they pair it with a thin or thicker one?
Elizabeth and Tamara, I TOTALLY agree that we need some work appropriate short sleeve tops or how about a cami that is not sooooo looooooow cut. I wore the Tulip cami the other day and during lunch, I hear a coworker say, "I can see your booby". Geez ! She and I are close friends, but really ? LOL

  22. Audreybella, thanks for the great pictures. I love the neon yellow belt you used. I wonder if the all white version of the Siesta dress is in store only. You looked great in all of the dresses !

  23. The Mirabel is gorgeous, just wish it weren't so short waisted. I don't consider myself to be long waisted at all, but lately with J Crew dresses, I find them to have an odd fit, not quite at the waist but not empire. I was so excited by the Derby dress, but I just received it and it hits me in the wrong place. Who knows, perhaps I just have a weird body, but the Mirabel looks to have a similar sort of waist. Not quite right for this pear shaped girl.

  24. Can I just say that I am shocked that the June catalog is about to come out already which means that the August catalog with the first fall offerings is only two months away? This spring has been really uneventful in terms of Jcrew clothes IMO. I can't ever remember the catalogs (as Nicole I haven't received the May one) and nothing really stands out if I look back. Some clothes have potential but a weird fit (like the Oleander and Derby dresses) and some are just plain boring. I still bought a lot but mostly on sale and if it weren't for the new return policy I would probably return half of it. It is probably a sign that my favorite purchase of the season are a pair of jeans and the marled lace-up hoodie.

  25. Ah, good point Ema! Fall is coming. :) (It just starting to get hot here in Chicago and I'm already thinking about wool.) I'm excited to see the August catalog now that you've mentioned it!

  26. LOVE those sandals on the model with the dress!
