Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I was too busy watching the royal wedding to check the J. Crew website this morning - hah!!

PS. JCAs, please check out my giveaway event, it ends this Sunday!

  2. Can anyone help me find an item? I saw a jcrew tank on a woman while I was out the other day. She mentioned that it is current jcrew...but I cannot find it online. PErhaps if anyone knows the name, I Can call to locate it at a store.

It is a white/ivory tank with stripes that are tan/navy/purple. The stripes are textured and not perfectly straight across.

if you know what it is, please email me at brunette3(at)windstream(dot)net

  3. Many popbacks this morning but I refuse to buy anything on sale the day after a 30% off ends, especially without free shipping. They are offering free shipping on any factory order though, which I guess it's nice (now if only they could offer it all the time on factory orders...)

I wonder if the stores are still carrying the 30% off. I think I will checkout the Fifth Avenue store since they just opened a new Madewell nearby. Any New Yorkers has been there recently? How is the sale section?

  5. Ooh, wish this was in my size! Here is a Campo d'Fiori dress in a size M with a low starting bid...

  6. Ema, if you do visit a store today, please report if they are still offering the additional 30% off sale. I won't bother going to the store this weekend if the extra percentage off is no longer being offered.

    Thanks very much!

  7. I saw the popbacks too. I would have bought my target items even without any promo, but they weren't there. :( So I watched the royal wedding until I fell back asleep again. I absolutely love Kate's classy gown, I wish more women would wear sleeved wedding gowns.

  8. If anyone is looking for ballet flats, the Northbrook IL stores had several pairs this morning but no 30%.

  9. I had a lot of fun visiting a few stores on my U.S. business trip. Now that I'm back in Canada I'm surprised I don't miss it and that I have nothing in my cart/wishlist. Feels kind of odd.

  10. King of Prussia still had 30% final sale, but it's pretty picked over. Crewcuts ditto. They got in another shipment of Casbah perfect shirts today, which are selling out fast. The SA's are so nice there, just saying.

  11. Ema-
every time I went to the new 5th avenue store they had NO sale section. Please do report if one has finally been implemented at that location!!

  12. I also am still all googly over the royal wedding, so I haven't thought about clothes all day, yay! (lol)

Allison, my store (Raleigh, NC) has that tank; I remember when it first came out thinking I might get it if it went on sale, it's super cute!

But alas, I don't think it's available online and I don't know what it's called. :/ I bet if you called the store and described it, they could easily find it. ... if I happen to pop in this weekend I'll try to get the info for you.

  13. shopalot and Jessy, I am back from the Fifth av store. They do have a sale section but it is very small (it's upstairs, with the accessories and crewcuts) but it is very small. They had a good selection of the schoolboy blazers on sale (madras, aged driftwood and canvas). 30% off is still in effect but I would go to another store if you are looking for bargains (although they had a rack of silk serenade dresses at $29.99). Btw, if anyone in the nyc area sees a size 0 in deep lagoon I would appreciate if you could put on hold for me (I have a 2 on hold but it is a tad big). TIA!

  14. Thanks, Ema. Definitely going to visit my local store tonight and see what's on sale. I'm in Chicago, but I will look for the dress anyway just in case you have no luck in NY.

  15. OMG, AppGal!!! I'm going to stalk Campo dress. Do you think I could squeeze my sz. L self into a sz. M?? Maybe w/Spanx? I'm really a L on top and a 10/12 on bottom. I wonder how bad it would look on me?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Elaine! I might do that...try to call a store and ask about it. Not sure if I would need a small or med...generally I am a small in tops from there. Anyone know how it runs? Do you know how much it was?

  17. I'll have to go to J. Crew because I have to take back a featherweight cashmere sweater. I wanted light SHALE but they sent me light SHELL and I have enough pink sweaters. Hoping there will be a return at the B&M in San Diego.

  18. @Jruby18 -I looked at the Campo dress on ebay too. Then started reading the seller's feedback. That scared me a bit. You may want to take a look at the feedback and ask questions before bidding :)

  19. tamara, I SO agree about sleeved wedding dresses... Or even just non strapless ones. On most people (me included) strapless is not the most flattering style. I will not be wearing strapless on my wedding day... but I might make an exception for the J.Crew beaded sunnie gown because it's Liberty print!

  20. Heads up to Philly JCAs: Chestnut St is still carrying the 30% off, and the sale section is pretty stocked. In particular great deals on Jenny dresses and crosstown tees (all colors), with plenty of sizes still available. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you find yourself in Center City!

  21. Thinking about strapless wedding gowns, one day I was perusing the wedding gowns on eBay and I saw this one outfit that made my jaw drop, a white strapless shiny thing on a zaftig girl, complete with long fingerless glove-like things going up past her elbows. I felt like all she needed to complete the outfit was a fairy godmother wand. I wish I'd saved the picture!

Hey, good luck to all of the clearance shoppers this weekend! Happy digging. :)

  22. I found my tank! Weehoo! I called my local store (still almost an hour away) and described it...the SA knew exactly which tank I was referring to...he had ONE total left in store...not my sz, but that gave him the style #...and he located it for me at another store! Yayyy!

    AND...it's on sale w/ extra 30% off! With shipping its $29! :)

  23. OT: Has anyone else noticed the words Yawah.com showing up across certain items? I clicked on a minty dress this AM and it was there and just now on the Linen Bermuda shorts, only on the green pair. I hope it is not my computer. Thanks !

    ReplyDelete
  24. Shekster, I've seen that before. It's just a watermark for the yawah graphic software that J.Crew or a contracted photographer/graphic designer uses. The watermark shouldn't show up using a licensed version of the software though, kind of odd. Maybe they need to renew the license.

  25. Went in to Walnut Creek today. I finally resolved to return the Mixed Stitch Cardigan (white)-b/c I don’t think I’ll ever were it, even with such a deep discount. The cardigan is a bit boxy/loose & not at all soft. Quite a few sale items, all 30% off. Saw some items onsale instore, not online. There seems to be a lot of spring dresses on sale too. They also had the cute blue/pink Bicycle Tee, but not in my size. I also saw quite a few new pieces that caught my eye.

    Whisper linen boatneck tee
Thought I would love this in the blue, but ended up liking the Mineral Green more. The blue doesn’t seem as vibrant on or compared to online. A little slouchy in the fit, which I like. –TTS.

    Ink-dip popover
Didn’t try it on, but love this in the Indigo blue. My eye gravitates towards it, every time I go into the store.

    Beatrice blouse
This is another gorgeous item (in Olive), that I can’t help but look at, every time I go into that store. I should have tried it on. Anyone have opinions on this blouse?

    Vintage cotton V-neck tee
I had to leave the store with something in that wonderful new blue. The tag has CBL , but it doesn’t really match up to Casablanca blue. The color is more of a dark Blue/Purple –Blurple?

I also glimpsed quite a few new belts I don’t see online. One interesting one is thinly woven leather belt. Similar to the one on the factory online.

Still a few Herringbone Schoolboy blazers left on sale. I picked one up a few weeks ago at $70 I think.

  26. Thanks XOXO. It was weird and I thought maybe my computer had a virus or something. Sorry for being OT

  27. Wolfy, another JCA said she bought the Beatrice blouse in Muslin and it was not silk. It was polyester. She wondered if they had sent her a factory version. I thought it felt like polyester in the store but did not have time to look at the tag.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sheckster, I tried the Beatrice blouse yesterday and looked at the tag. The shell is 100% silk, only the cami is poly. I tried the muslim and it was supersheer. Also I found it a smidge small in my regular size (in the shoulders). HTH!

  29. If anyone happens upon a size 0 Boy shirt in Indian voile (item 35905) in blue seashore, can you please let me know (or put it on hold)? I would love to get my hands on it. TIA!

  30. 30% off at Somerset was still on on Friday. Final sale

I found a dress I must have. Called the cotton silk taffeta biffy. A very bright pink. Looking for size 6. Item #38762. Please help. Contact me at ericaschwab at hotmail dot com. TIA

  32. Thanks Ema ! Good to know. I love that blouse and wondered about the sizing. :)

  33. Ema -

Did you end up buying the size 2 Silk Serenade in Deep Lagoon? I might be interested if it is still on hold. I sadly no longer live in NYC but could call the store and see if they could send it to me. Still undecided on the dress because of the fit in the bust but besides that I LOVE the color and fabric.

  34. OperaRach, I just bought a 00 in another store so it's yours if you want. It's on hold on the second floor (Fifth Avenue store). I agree on the weird boobs fit but for $21 I can wear it with a cardigan if it bothers me too much ;-). I tried both a 0 and a 00 and the 00 looked better overall (including the boobs) but I could wear either of them. HTH!

  35. Thanks all, for the Beatrice Blouse info. I'll have to try this one on. Are there any bloggers that have already posted this blouse? TIA

  36. Ema-
Do you mind me asking...did you try a size 0 Ella in Lagoon? I would love to call and purchase it, if you can post the store! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I tried the Beatrice blouse and love it! I ordered it online and am going to hold onto it in the hopes it goes on sale before the 60 day return window. Not sure I want to keep it at FP, so I'm not going to wear it yet.

  38. Bevin blouse available at Emeryville, CA in 2, 4 & 12 in white ash. They had at least 2 of each of those sizes. It's now $29.99 before the additional 30%/final sale.

  39. Gigi,

How was the sale inventory at that store. I'm thinking of checking it out, when I'm in the neighborhood next week. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  40. Has anyone reviewed the Indio Hobo? I am really interested in that bag but the description scares me a little ... it sounds like very thin leather and I am wondering about the quality. Has any one seen in person or purchased this bag and what do you think? I love the Toffee color. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wolfy - It has more options available than WC, i.e. I saw a couple of Katie colorblock camis & gingham tops in Emery, but those are gone in WC. However, while they have different types of items still available, I'd say the section & quantity of sale stock is smaller in Emery than WC. Usually Emery's sale takes up a good perimeter of the room it's in, but it was down to half. Lots of saggy tees on the hangers. Lots of pants, though. I can't say it'd be worth a special trip unless you're going to other stores on the row there.

  42. Pathos, sorry for the late reply but it wasn't the Ella, it was the silk serenade. They had quite a few Ella in the light blue/green colorway but no small sizes (the smallest size was a 4 or a 6 I believe). You can call them in case they have more inthe back (it was the store on Madison Ave at 45th). HTH!

    OperaRach, did you get it?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I did visit last week and I posted a few reviews here.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Gigi,

Good to know. I won't make the trip. Yeah, kinda of surprised I've found a few winners at WC lately. And the manager has been less then her b-self towards me. So, a win-win all around.

  45. Rose,

Thanks for the pics. I liked the Whisper linen boatneck tee in Mineral green, which is similar to the Linen Pullover you tried on. And since, I wear camis with everything, the sheerness doesn't really bother me.

I have to agree with you on the Captain Cardigan. I can't wear anything that puts shiny buttons over were my nipples should be. It's sort of indecent. Who would design such a thing?

  46. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I know this is mostly the winterweight cashmere but has anyone bought a cashmere sweater or cardi/hoodie (whatever) in Paris Pink? I am trying to tell if it is actually pale pink - as it looks for the isabel sweatshirt online for example, or more of a peachy pink which is how it looks for some of the other styles eg hoodie? I don't really mind I guess but would prefer a true pale pink and want a hoodie in pale pink if more colors ever(?!!) go on sale.

Also bit OT but I got an email just now, May 1, 11.30 am, telling me I had a 'surprise' in my May 1 catalog. I know that others had that several days ago. That is nice I guess but it means I have barely a week to use it...(and since I am no position to use it because I don't have the catalog in my hands yet and won't for several days and it isn't because I am on a tropical vacation or something nice like that - I wish- I emailed JC to see if they can do anything). Anyway, so if you didn't get your May catalog yet there could still be a coupon of some kind in it between pages 6 and 7.

TIA for any info on the paris pink cashmere color.

  47. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone predicts a free shipping code soon? I can't tell how often they run promos. Thanks!

  48. I stopped by yesterday with low expectations and ended up spending my summer rewards (already!) at the Pasadena, CA store last night. There was an additional 30% off final sale and I scored the lace dobby skirt, maxi check short-sleeve shirt, and Arianna dress (still full price online)all for $74. I was surprised that the sale section wasn't too picked over, as there were a number of Katie colorblock camis, ballet flats, ribbon camis, for $20, and cadabra cardigans still languishing on the racks.
