Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  3. Yes, I got a jackie too! Popbacks are already coming back. I cancelled the lady day because the colletta I wanted just popped back.

  4. I love it when The Whispers are in concert. Or when they don't say a thing at all.

  5. Thank you Ana. I know at least one person got it ;-)

  6. I was able to stack discounts too and snagged a Bavarian Blue Jackie.
No final sale. Hey, totally makes up for never getting a discount code in my catalogues!

  9. gigiofca, I cringe when I read those comments. Likely won't be long now before that's history. :^(

  10. Had planned to go on Friday but with car issues it had to be postponed. Hopefully I can make it to the store either this week or next.

JCAs, you know you can delete your comment as many of us know that Big Brother reads this blog and will make adjustments that will negatively impact us shoppers. Thanks!

  11. My apologies if I made some of you angry earlier. I would have understood if you had just said something to me directly, instead of chatting in code.

I thought this blog was all about helping JCAs share deals with each other? I'm confused where the line is drawn. I was really just trying to be helpful.

  12. P.S. Also, my apologies to Alexis if I broke some "rule."

I've been reading the blog for a long time, I don't like keeping secrets from fellow JCAs, and I wish y'all weren't so negative toward me. :( Hope you can accept my apologies.

  13. Rosie, the 1st thing I did was click on your name to see if you had a profile w/email. You don't, so I couldn't contact you. There are some things not discussed aloud anymore and reasons why. If you want to discuss it off the board, I'd be happy. No animosity intended or will occur if we chit chat. gigiofca at gmail

  14. GiGi -- thank you for writing back. I will email you. I don't like to post my email on the web for fear of spam.

JCrewphd -- thank you too for explaining. Sorry if I ruined things for everyone; I wanted to help, not harm. I thought we used to post things like this.

  15. I did think about whether to post my comment or not, but... this has happened multiple times before and there have been no changes. I decided to err on the side of passing on a good deal to others. How are bloggers supposed to figure out what are "kosher" posts or not
(except of course for blatant rudeness)? I kinda agree with Rosie's original point of view.

  16. Rosie,

In the past we did post info like you shared and it was fun. However, JCrew used the shared info. against us. Perfect example of something very good that was ruined: final sale is truly now final sale. (Long time posters will know what I mean by this:)

  17. Hello ladies. Since we are having a lengthier discussion on this topic, I thought I would address it.

I know some of you would like me to delete certain comments. I find it is a lose-lose situation for a variety of reasons.

Instead of that route, I try to contact the user directly and explain the situation or quickly move on from it altogether. Honestly, sometimes the latter works the best. If we don't draw that much attention to it, and I upload more posts, the thread gets overlooked for the newer ones.

I love how helpful we are with fashion advice, styling, and shopping tips-- it really is the main reason why this blog rocks. It frustrates me when I see J.Crew take that useful information to eliminate or remove. However, I also don't want to discourage the practice. It's a tough situation, a double edge sword of sorts. Hopefully we can help each other in a careful way. :)

P.S. Rosie, thank you for being thoughtful to share! :)

  18. Thank you, Alexis.

And please now back to J.Crew... Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?"

Yes! I did visit this weekend and Boston has tons of Jackie cardigans on sale for $39.99. There were also a bunch of v-neck cashmere sweaters and some floral perfect shirts.

I also tried on the merino stripe and the merino confetti stripe. The sequins were just too much for me. As the SA said, it's such a memorable piece that there's no way to wear it without making a huge statement.

  19. Hi Rosie. I think Alexis of JCA cleared things for us. I didn't mean to offend anyone and totally understand where you were coming from. Helpful and thoughtful JCAs are what makes this community so great!
As others have mentioned, we have been "burned" by negative actions taken by JCrew after some posts made by well-meaning JCAs. I think any relatively "new" JCAs wouldn't know some of the things that have happened in the past and it's unfair to expect them to know some of the things happened in the past. But the fact is that JCrew continues to take information from here and use it against us at times. If only they'd listen to us and make online shopping much better (e.g. wish list, order history, better product description, better quality...).

  20. LOVE the bellflower tweed pencil skirt - TTS. The crossover (or is it crisscross) dress didn't work for me, although my ps said it had worked on all who had tried it on. I have a problem with belts - they never seem to look right on me - and I thought it made me look chestier in a bad way. Very soft, though. Sized down (my normal sleeveless knit size). I tried on 2 new tank-style dresses that aren't online yet. The navy stripe was cute, but sizing down was still too big. They only had 2, so I couldn't size down again to try. The other new dress was similar to last year's jessie. This one zipped up the back (exposed) and had pockets. Lovely shade of cornflower blue. Would have bought it had I not loved the tweed skirt so much. New sheer sleeveless blouse (button up) trimmed in either the cornflower blue or orange (perfect match to modern red). Did nothing for me, but TTS.
