  1. Thank youuuuuuuuuu, Madewell! My debit card # was stolen and I got a new card. This of course wreaks havoc when you're trying to return items that you used the old number for. I mailed a return back to Madewell & decided to call them to see if they'd put a note on my account to have the credit go back to the new number. Instead of telling me oh, the bank will move the credit over to the new number, the rep simply asked for the new number and said she'd make a note. I recvd my credit last week to my account without a problem. It seems like a small thing, but if you've dealt w/cc or id theft, you know this is a big deal.

Thank you so much, Madewell cs & returns processing!

  4. I am not sure if this is a 'love' or 'vent' post. Maybe both. I ordered some suede shoes from madewell. I have live in Canada and have a canada post po box. I have always ordered stuff from jcrew and it has always 100% of the time come to my po box within 10 business days. This is the first time I ordered something from madewell and it has been over 15 business days. I emailed them to ask and they said things get lost, I kept asking them if they used the same shipping as jcrew, but there wasn't any answer to my questions. They refunded me my money promptly, but it doesn't really solve the problem of the missing shoes! I asked if they would receive a package back and they said hardly ever and I could check the site to order them again when they are available. *sigh*

  6. I really ove the new Cecilia dress in Retro Orange! I saw it yesterday in my B&M. I think I will have to wait for it to go on sale though and order it online (size 14 not in stores! :( ) I am looking forward to hopefully procuring it in the future though!

  8. The French Made, Canada Post is swamped these days, I've been told. Due to the strength of the loonie, a lot of Canadians are ordering goods from the US, and CP just cannot keep up.

I, too, have shoes in the mail that haven't made it in almost 3 weeks since they shipped.

  9. I placed an order online yesterday for myself and my fiance using the promo code and was over the $150 free ship minimum. I later realized that I omitted one item for him that I intended to order, so I called CS to see if I could add it onto my existing order. He told me it couldn't be added on and that he'd have to create another order for just one item . . . but that shipping on the new order would also be free. And he allowed me to use the 30% promo code on that as well. It was nice to have a hassle-free experience to offset some previous less-than-stellar ones.

  10. I have the best personal shopper in the world. Every single problem or question I have, she is right on it, and always comes back with a stellar solution. Not to mention she hooks me up every now and then with some coupon codes, and gives me some previews of items coming out soon on the website <3 Love her! Best customer service I have ever had anywhere!!!!!!!

  12. I continue my love affair with certain J Crew shoes. My anchor grey Gibsons arrived last night. I already have the black ones, which are spectacular. The greys are absolutely amazing. The shoe almost looks a bit clunky in the images on the J Crew web site, but on the foot they are sleek as can be. I love the toe shape, slightly rounded so they are very comfortable but don't look too cutesy like more rounded toes tend to. They grey color is very neutral because it's pale, not as pale as the Coddington cobblestone but definitely a grey that can work for 3 seasons. I wish the Gibsons had also come in the camel color, or in a smooth leather. Love love love.

  13. I ordered the Duette Cami in English Brown during the current 30% extra off promo and it came today. Wow it's so pretty! The silk is substantial. I like the feminine silhouette with the cinched-in waist, and the extra front panels which make you almost look like you're wearing a vest over the cami. The only thing is on the model the panels are open at the top, which looks better. In reality it's hard to make them stay open like that. But overall I think it will go very well with jeans and shorts in the summer.

BTW I've found that J Crew's online/catalog only items (as this one) tend to go down a lot in price eventually, more than other items, and if you get the right ones they're really a good deal. This cami in this color is now $34.99, with 30% it's like $25.

  17. Maybe a little late because they're on sale, but I just got the Beverly heels in the mail. they are GREAT IRL. the suede is really nice and they fit tts and are surpisingly comfy considering how tall they are. My new favorite.

Also, the Ella dress that is featured at the top of the new arrivals page...its on sale for $39.99 in stores and also comes in a nice floral print (same price). Great deal
