Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Got the silk Blythe blouse in alabaster this weekend. I am in love already! Such a flattering blouse. Fits TTS. Can't wait to pick it up in another color!

  2. Joanie: The Blythe blouse IS beautiful. I desperately want it in the olive color!

I went to the Greensboro (Friendly center) location this weekend. Spent only about 10 minutes in there and didn't see much. The only 2 items that piqued my interest were the No. 2 pencil skirt in Citron and the Candy plaid shirt in the blue colorway. Otherwise, the store had very little of interest!

  3. Didn't visit this weekend... I've been doing a lot of online ordering, my store is not very good. Thinking about driving a few hours to DC this weekend to visit multiple stores!

  4. Can anyone tell me what are the best J.Crews in NOVA/DC? I plan on visiting the Georgetown Store and the Tyson's store, but I'd like to hit a few others that are convenient to those two?

Or are there any better ones in that area I should target?

  5. JS, I think those are probably your best bets in the area. There is one in the Fair Oaks mall that I feel has a pretty decent selection, but that is a much further drive.
IMO, the two you are planning to visit usually have lots of the new stuff on the racks. Plus, they have shoes too.

  6. I visited my local B&M and saw the No 2 pencil skirt in citron. I thought it was going to be a lemony-yellow color but it's more lime. It'll be a pass for me since I have a cotton Factory skirt from last summer that's almost the same shade.

I also visited the J Crew Factory store and picked up a beautiful pencil skirt. It's the style of last years Double Serge pencil skirt that has the seams running curved down the bum. It's a rich, jewel tone plum. Perfect for spring and summer. It's unlined and lighter weight than the retail version. It has pockets. I posted about it on polyvore with style # if you are interested in tracking one down. I'm going to keep my eye open on the Factory website to see if they add it there. I would love to get another color. My Factory store also had natural and black.

  7. Went to my B&M on Saturday and it had a sad Spring selection and even sadder Sale section.

  8. Hi JS,
As fshnonmymind said those are probably you best bets, but if you have time, the store in Montgomery Mall (near Rockville which is not too far from Gtown)has a pretty good selection too. I usually go there if I can't make it to Tysons and now that I think of it...I don't think there is a Jcrew at Tysons, I remember being hugely disappointed on a trip there during the holidays. Double check to be sure...happy hunting:)

  10. FYI, Crewcuts is coming to Walnut Creek this July. The store isn't moving as far as I know. Merch will be integrated into the current floor space.

  11. Hi
I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice on B&M's in Florida?
We visit Orlando several times a year ( I am in Canada ) and I always shop the mall at millennia store because I live that mall. Are there any others in the area I should check out? I have shopped the prime and premium outlets but mostly for tees.
Also we are cruising out of Fort Lauderdale in June and I have never been there before. Any suggestions for stores in that area?
    Thanks!

  13. JS, there is also a pretty good J. Crew at the Montgomery Mall in Maryland, and the J. Crew on Wisconsin Ave in Friendship Heights is just so-so (but not too far from Georgetown if you are making a day of it). There is also a fairly decent J. Crew in the Pentagon City Mall as well (and the bonus is that it is right next door to Banana Republic, so you can hit both in a fairly short period of time). The J. Crew in Fair Oaks Mall is the newest of all of the stores, but I feel like it is geered towards a young demographic (like age 22 and under).

  14. JS: There is a store at Tyson's, but not at Tyson's One. The Second Tyson's, the Galleria, has the Tyson's. It is on the first floor very close to Legal Seafood. The Anthropologie is upstairs from J. Crew, which is awesome. The mall that the J. Crew/Anthro is at is the second mall, it was built much later than the original mall (which has been around for nearly 50 years). The Galleria also has the super-swank stores like Saks Fifth Avenue. I can only ever afford Anthro and J. Crew, but boy do I love going there and window shopping.

I actually don't care for the service at this J. Crew, though, which is a bummer, as this J. Crew has a great selection, including many collection items. For service, I always have great luck at the Pentagon City store.

    Hope that helps!

    should read:

  16. TJ- I was in the Jcrew in Ft. Lauderdale last year and was disappointed as the store was small, messy and the associates were not very friendly- (could have been the post holiday frenzy??) We were in Boca Raton this year (only 30 min North of Ft.Lauderdale) and I of course had to visit the Jcrew- It is in a much nicer mall and was a much bigger store. Also had much nicer Associates:) hope this helps.

  17. Twiga:
That helps a lot. Thanks so much for the advice. I think we will be renting a car for a few days so it shouldn't be too hard to drive to Boca Raton.
    Thanks again!

  18. TJ, I agree with Twiga about the Boca store. Lately I've had a few run-ins with terrible SAs, but I think most of them were seasonal staff and are gone now. The Boca store recently started carrying shoes too (but only flats it seems). The Aventura store is nice too, and maybe a little bigger than the Boca mall (it has crewcuts too I think). If you're planning on doing any outlet shopping, the outlet at Sawgrass Mills is decently stocked (plus there are a ton of other great outlets there too).

Thanks for the info. How far is Aventura?
I'm sure I will be making a trip to Sawgrass...I tend to pick up lots of clothes for the children at the outlets when we are down south.
    Thanks again!

  20. TJ, Aventura is about 30 mins to the south, depending on where you are in Ft. Lauderdale. It's in the very north part of Miami-Dade county near the beach (it's on Biscayne Blvd.) I have only been to that mall a few times, but it's pretty nice. It's supposedly the biggest mall in Florida (and we have quite a few!) The J. Crew there, like I said, is decent sized with a good mix of clothing. The Banana Republic there is huge!
