Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm going to the store in Valley Fair mall (Santa Clara, CA) sometime after the 19th. The employee at the store (George) said that's when they're getting restocked with new items after the holiday rush.

  2. Additional 40% final sale at Palo alto- never seen the sale section so big, but it's getting picked over fast. Tons of droopy embellished tees and tanks, a couple heels, boots, ballet flats. Fair amount of belts, bins of socks, tights. Saw a boutinerre blazer grey sz0, cargos size0, lots of random pants, cords, sad looking sweaters, a couple larger sized coletta coats. Lots of minis, the tuxedo shirt with detachable bowtie, and a ton of grey sequin sweatshirts marked $49.99 b4 the 40% in all sizes. Bicycle tanks ring up as $9.99 b4 the 40%. Always cardis, torn tuxedo heneleys, sequin bloomers.

They also had a lot of new resort items but I didn't see a single thing I wanted to try on!

  3. I'd like to do some shopping online. Any chance someone out there got a discount code in their catalog they're not going to use? Thanks!

  4. I'm shopping my closet, so I'll be staying home. It's made easier by the fact there weren't any must-haves in the Jan catalog.

  5. Busy weekend for me so no time for a trip to J.Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  6. probably not. With all those preXmas promotions I feel pretty saturated

  7. I will be going today to make some online returns( I ordered several things during final sale as ride alongs ): the pararuffle shirt in white....it's cute and not too voluminous but it's pretty sheer . I would maybe give it another try at a reduced price but I don't $98 love it. Also am returning the Chambray cinch shirt and the Selvedge elenora popover in chambray. The popover did nothing for me but the cinch shirt is very cute but again I would not pay full price(plus it has a very summery feel and it's stil winter even in TX). At least I have tried these on and will know the size to order if/when/next week they are marked down!

  8. Went yesterday to the Collection store on Madison Avenue. The only new arrival that I tried on is the striped painter tee in grey. Fits tts and is very cute but I couldn't stomach the price. I scored a moonbeam jacket for $179 ($299-40% off). They had two other but I don't remember the sizes. Also two eyelash jackets in black and 3 Helena dresses (a size 2 and I think a 4 or 6) but I don't know if that one was on sale (it is worth a call).
I also picked up a new catalog and I must be the only one but I kind of miss the over the top styling. It looks very plain/unactractive.
They told me that the new collection is due on the 18th.

  9. I went to Woodfield yesterday to pay my bill (ouch), and it was depressing. Maybe a dozen sad knits hanging in the sale section andthat's it (still 40% off), and the rest of the store looked rather barren, not much new stock. SA said they are waiting for new arrivals.

However, with all the buzz about Sears buying JC etc., I wandered in out of curiosity. Woodfield Sears has LE Canvas, which I never knew. The LEC section was nicely merchandised, bright and well-stocked with transition Spring items. I bought the navy/white stripe sailor top, it's really adorable.

  10. txmom, is the cinch shirt tts? that's the only thing that i saw in the new catalog that i thought.....oh yea, that looks comfy and cute :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I went the other day to make a return. The sale section was slim pickin's. The new stuff was ho hum. Maybe b/c it's just still so cold, I can't really "vibe" spring right now. I'm hoping for a 30% off online soon so I can get a coat I've been stalking.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I went to a Crewlet/factory store yesterday. What a BLAH selection! Some of you may be interested that they've brought back the stained glass print. They had a cardigan, Sanur/Convertible jersey dress, and a Nico-esque skirt in this print. They also had several retail Minnies for $29.99-30% off (or maybe 40%?) I mistakenly tried them on even though every.single.time I try on Minnies I promise myself never again...

Anyway, it wasn't worth the trip. Seems like they are between shipments as the store was very bare. Sale selection was also very low.

    ReplyDelete
  13. OT has anyone tried the Factory fur vest? So curious as to the fit and whether the fur looks great or cheap...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Not for me. I spent my Xmas GC on a popback of suiting pants last night, and I am taking a break at least for the rest of the month.

Nothing in the new collection excited me when I saw it in stores this past weekend (with the possible exception of the featherweight cardi in a pretty melon color that I don't see online, as if that didn't violate my JC cashmere ban).

I am hoping to see some fabulous spring prints next month!

  15. I'm heading to NYC on business this weekend and staying an extra day for me-time, so I hope to trawl some JCs while I'm there. Definitely Columbus Circle if nowhere else.

Everyone pls. send me good vibes that I don't get stuck in NY due to snow here (NC) or there. I'm really worried about it. Not only do I not want to scramble for a hotel room, but I just don't want to be away from my son for days and days....

    ReplyDelete
  16. Eleine, yes it is snowing here (it started this morning and it has already carpeted the streets). We are supposed to get a lot of snow so you might want to change your plans (sorry, don't mean to send bad vibes but better be ready). Good luck.
If you make it here, just a reminder that the Fifth Av. store will be closed for renovation starting tomorrow, so you can cross it from your list.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wish I could, Ema, but unless our flight out doesn't leave on Sunday morning, it's a done deal.

I'm so upset. I only get to go to NY once or twice a year, so when it's on my employer's dime it's even more exciting. And now the stupid weather is going to ruin it. I'd cry if I thought it would do any good, but it won't, so.... :/

And of course thoughts of the plane that skidded off the runway years ago and ended up in Jamaica Bay aren't far from my mind. Not going to share that with my travel companions, though.

  18. Does anyone have a review of the Silk bloussana tunic? It looks like it has promise!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Karen, the chambray cinch top fits TTS. I am 5'4" and usually wear and XS or 0 in JC tops and tried the XS in this one. It is blousy but not overwhelming and of course, can be adjusted with the ties at the bottom. I am thinking it would look really cute with white jeans in the summer. Hoping it will make it to a markdown!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes, I'd love a review of the bloussana tunic as well. Is it really long? How does it fit?

    ReplyDelete
  21. carrier tone & fidele -- I found the black silk bloussana at my store on sale already for $59.99 + 40% off discount and took it home. I thought it was lovely and simple. It fits true to my normal JC blouse size. Note that it does have a bit of a puffed shoulder, so if that isn't flattering for you, keep it in mind. However, it's silk, so it's not like a billowy cotton puffed sleeve. I'll try to post pics on my blog later.
Another sale note that might have gotten buried in a previous thread: my store had the Lolli pants on sale + discount, and a bunch of gray Minnies for $4.99 + 40%!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I popped into the Mich Ave store on Wednesday, it was pretty picked over. But they did have a few Stadium-cloth boulevard trench coats in black and sandstone for the same price as online ($179.99) but + the 40% off, so came to about 107 before tax... I managed to get the last small size, a 6 in black and I am in LOVE, it fits so nicely and feels like a good weight. The sizes left are a few 10s and 12s, at least one of each in the two colors. They also had a good amount of ballet flats on sale, I didn't dig into the styles, they are the ones that have basically been on sale all winter.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dear shopwithm --

Thanks! If you don't mind, what store? Maybe I'll call them!

    ReplyDelete
  24. If anyone happens to see the Lolli pants in a size 4 in store, would you please let me know!!!

  26. Hi there! Just wondering if anyone can help me about the fit of this Cielo Ruffle cardi (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/sweaters/merino/PRDOVR~29648/99102092587/ENE~1+2+3+22+4294967294+20~90~~20+17+4294967133~90~~~~~~~/29648.jsp)Is it really fitted? I usually wear between an XS and S so just want to make sure as it's non returnable. Thanks!

  27. If anyone sees the Lolli Pants in a size 0 or 2 could you please hold them? Jcrewlove@gmail.com

    Thank you!

  28. Woof, there was almost nothing left on sale in our Raleigh, NC store. Lots of sad tees, a few bling-button cardis, some cords in larger sizes (32/33).

I did pick up the bronzed leopard cardi, as I'd been wanting it for a while but couldn't catch it on a popback. Got the L, as it was all that was available, but it's not too big. Just comfy.

Tried on the Heidi wool flannel dress and if they'd had an 8, I might have bought it. But ours was different than the one I see online, the offset ruffle was plaid. It was $99.99 - 40%. I get so MAD when I see the price discrepancies online v in-store! Why isn't online sale merchandise 40% off? Grrr.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Has anyone tried on the silk jacinta vest? It really intrigues me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. ED-less, I bought the silk jacinta vest and I love it! I wore it on new years as a top under the black dulphine cardi and it was so cute. haven't tried it as an actual vest yet. I found the fit to be TTS. the shoulder straps were a bit long on me (I pinned them on new years since it arrived the day before) but should be easy to tailor. I should also mention that I'm kinda short (5'3") and the length on me was like a slightly cropped top with no tummy showing. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  31. skipping the retail store and hoping to make it to the warehouse sale *crossing fingers that weather isn't an issue*

    ReplyDelete
  32. Has anyone tried the Belmarin pants? Thoughts on size, quality, or overall impression?

I used to regularly buy the "Everyday" chino but found that when they redesigned it this year with a "leaner leg with a more modern feel" that it didn't work for me anymore. :(

I'd love to see them reintroduce a trouser chino....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Elaine, the Heidi dress came in two versions, a solid version and a version with Prince of Wales plaid on the bottom, which is likely the one you saw.

I got the PoW plaid version and it is really cute with the offset ruffle in the darker plaid bottom and contrasting belt made of the solid lighter flannel. The v-neck is pretty low cut so I need a cami or scarf but overall the dress is so flattering and comfortable that I would find any way to make this dress work. It is pictured on page 97 of the "JOY..." holiday catalog and has been popping back on the sale site occasionally. I highly recommend it.

  34. Just left my Norfolk, VA store. Exchanged the Maxi-Check Perfect shirt in pink for a larger size. Always a 0 in tops; however, this shirt was too tight in shoulders, upper arms, and bust. Our store doesn't have much left in the sale dept. Two wool coats. A rack of tees. A few cords. VERY picked over. I left with no sale merchandise (which is unheard of)!
Thanks txmom - I'm going to keep my eye on chambray cinch....
BTW, can anyone explain why the lighthouse cardi that was final sale for a great price online is now back up to full price. In the same charcoal gray color.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Karen: Thank you for mentioning that the pink maxi check shirt runs small. I assumed that this shirt was cut differently than other perfect shirts (in which I normally wear a 4) and because the inside tag says "boy shirt," I thought that was why. I did get a 6 in this shirt so I would say this is a definite case of size up. 100%.

  36. Ruth,
I have the cielo cardi and I really like it. Now it's a great time to grab it as price is so low! I am a true XS in 95% of Jcrew sweaters and with this cardigan it was the same. Bear in mind that I like jackets and sweaters fitted. Still, the XS allows me to layer a thin long sleeve tee under. I think unless you prefer a looser fit, I would stick with your usual Jcrew size. HTH!

Is it just me what, but I just found out from talking to CS over the phone that they are not honoring the student/teachers discount for online orders and phone orders from home. Ay, Jcrew, why are you treating your loyal customers this way? So sad!

Anyone has the Prince of Wales blazer and think it's worth it? I recently was able to grab a size 0, but at $325, I just don't know how to justify the purchase. I love everything about it, but $325??? Any comment/feedback would be appreciated!!!

    TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dinagideon, I first saw the pink plaid on your my superfluities blog! That is what inspired my purchase. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  38. xoxo, thanks for the tips! i was actually surprised at how much i liked it on -- if i can get it in my size, i'll definitely pick it up. :)

marymoo, one of my coworkers made it out to chapel hill today and she said there were SHOES EVERYWHERE. i don't think i'm going to be able to go, but it's probably for the best. ... let us know what you find if you go!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Visited my neighborhood B&M (Walnut Creek, Ca)for the first time since after the holidays, and boy are they cleaned out. Still 40% FS going on, but there is little to anything left.

I did pick up my 2nd Stadium Cloth Peacoat-in Hthr Charcoal for $89. I already have the same one in Dark Fatigue. I think I can now count myself as a coat slut. I've got way too many, but still want the
    Double-cloth ingenue coat in Black.

They also had the sale section a few Buffalo check jackets. I tried it on in my size this time, and still don't get why this is a blog favorite. I'm not a red checker gal. They also had the Stadium-cloth elements coat-in Dark Fatigue, which I've been thinking of getting. I need something a bit warm, since I'm going back east on Sunday, but this is not any warmer than any of my other Stadium cloth coats and I didn't like this jacket in Dark Fatigue.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wolfy, did you notice what sizes/colors were available in the stadium elements coat and the peacoat? Thanks!

  44. Still 40% off sale items in the Tampa store, but nothing left to buy. It's totally picked over and the entire store is bare. Not really worth a trip unless you're going to the mall anyway.

I'm looking for the studded platform booties in either color sz 7.5 or 8. They're online but without the extra 40% off, I'm still hesitant. And my store doesn't really carry shoes...(frowny face). If anyone sees them in their store, I'd love to know!! Thanks!! :)

  45. I'd love to get the Lolli pants for the sale price! If anyone sees them in store, size 14, please let me know! If you'd purchase them, I'm glad to pay extra for your trouble. Thanks!

  46. Good morning! If anyone sees the Lolli pants and/or the black silk blousanna blouse at their local store in size 12 or 14, could you please put it on hold under Mili and please email me at ohjoymorelaundry at gmail dot com. I'd be so grateful. Thank you.

On a side note, I too have a Madewell one time 20% off coupon I will not use. Please email me if you would like it.

  47. I am still looking for the bottom of the silk polka dots pajama in a XS. I am hoping in a return because it is sold-out nationwide. If anyone sees it in a store, could you please put it on hold for me if it's not too much trouble and let me know here or at crazyaboutjcrew@gmail.com? Thanks!

I took the last Stadium Cloth Peacoat I do believe. All they had left was size 12 and few 10s in the Buffalo Check Jacket. The Stadium elements coat that they had was a Size 12 in Dark Fatigue.
If you are in the area, I wouldn't even bother w/ Walnut Creek b/c they are sparse. Emeryville probably has more items remaining. And they are much nicer. If you call them, I'm sure they can tell you what coats they have left.

  50. No time to hit JCrew this weekend as that mall is a long ways from me but did hit Talbots today and had fun.

Going to Chapel Hill sale for SURE!

Also, JCrew processed my returns correctly that I sent back by mail this last batch. YEAH!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks, Wolfy. I'm hoping to find a size 0. I'm in Orange County so I'll give emeryville a call at 10. Thanks again! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Dara - thanks so much! I have been going back and forth about getting it. I'm also a shortie (5'4) so your review really helped!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Chapel Hill was insane but there shoes galore - probably 10 boxes of 9-9,5. Prices were ok - $20 for pants, $30 for shoes, $40 cashmere.

Most of the shoes were Juliets, Pippas, Alecias, and tons of suede. I ended up w/ a pair of leather alecias and tortoise juliets along with dress pants for the hubs

i couldn't stand digging through in the womens side - total chaos!

may go back later in the month and see if anything is new

    ReplyDelete
  54. Newyork0311, I have the PoW Blazer and I love it! I also own the schoolboy in heather carbon and that gets a lot of wear as well. It's not worth $325, but I had the coupon for 20% off and used it, so I wasn't so sad about paying that price. It's one of my favorite pieces though. Sturdy and classic!

    ReplyDelete
  55. i just went to copley. 40% off sale -- a big selection if you're XS or L/XL. Slim pickings for the in between sizes.

I did get a really cute tunic that's not online. it's a gray pinstrip with a black collar/cuffs/bottom. It was $78, but I splurged since it might be cute for my vaca.

    ReplyDelete
  56. they also had a REALLY cute eyelet dress that is different from the Shelby. I loved it, but not for $178.

    ReplyDelete
  57. NOTHING in the sale section at my store. Literally 1 of each of maybe 30 items. It was so sad looking. Not much in the rest of the store either. A few new tee shirts, mostly 3/4 sleeves, shorts, dresses, etc.... but it was snowing here today so I'm not too interested in spring clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  58. ED-less ~ I bought the silk Jacinta vest in golden topaz and love it. The color is great and-like golden ochre-complements so many other colors.

Someone else reported that she thought the vest was TTS. I actually think the vest runs small. I typically wear an 8 in JC shirts, but sized up to a 10 in this one so I could where it over a sweater as styled on the catalog and online shots.

Suggest you compare your measurements to JC's before ordering since its now FS.

  59. Polaris had a bunch of Plaid Eliza tees for super cheap- $18 after the 40% off!

  61. The Huntsville, AL store has an exctra 40% off right now, though the sale section was fairly empty. I was able to score the starry night mini for only $36! There was a size 0 still in the store if anyone else is looking for it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Has anyone tried on the merino satin-waist pant? Is it comfortable/warm?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Christy, thank you for pitching in your opinion on the PoW blazer. I also own several schoolboy blazers already and find them to be versatile. I had missed the PoW blazer as I was waiting for it to go on sale, but of course it was sold out and never went on sale. Now that I was able to grab a 0, it's so hard to send it back!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Not an in-store item (for me at least), but I was excited to get the shearling fatigue jacket online this morning for $129. I would have been happier if there was a percentage off sale, but this was a popback so I grabbed it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Can anyone give comment on the Wool Cashmere Cappella coat? If a % off sale comes, I'm thinking about getting one. But haven't heard any reviews, and w/it being FS, I'd love some advance info. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Links to irl pics per this thread:

    * Capella coat - I got M and wish I had stuck w/my usual size of S.
    * Merino cielo cardi

Kris - I got the dream jewel toggle cardi when I saw it pop back in my size. I'm glad I did as whatever quantity remained is now gone. It would have been nice to save an additional 20 or 30%, but I'd rather get and wear it now.

    ReplyDelete
  67. newyork0311, you may want to do a WWFIFY for the POW blazer in 0. I did one last week when I found out it is $199-40% in stores. I got mine sent from the 5th Ave. store in NYC, which is now closed through the end of Feb., but the SA I spoke to told me (contrary to what online sales would indicate) that the POW did not sell well at $325 in their store, but was just starting to move on sale. You could save $200+ if you were able to find one! The SA indicated that they had more than one in 0 left, but I don't know exactly where they were sending their merchandise (they told me they were storing current merch until reopening and sending sale stuff to other stores) and it may take a few days for the inventory to register elsewhere, but it's worth a try. And if mine doesn't work out for me, I'll let you know! :)
    Good luck!

  68. Went to Rock Center and Madison Ave @ 45th stores. The sale section is much better at Madison Avenue. They had one pair of lolli pant in a size 12 and a Blousanna black blouse also in a 12 as of yesterday at 5 pm. Also plenty of fireside and cypress minis. The Rockefeller Center store sale section was very picked over but they had a ton of the cashmere zip cardigan (the one from last summer/spring) in sepia and lavander. Weird!
Also, can anyone comment in the fit of the Kelcey flats? Do they break in? They had a pair in my size in the bright orange ($41 after 40% off) but I was wondering if I should size up. They also had a 6 and a 7H (this was ar the Madison Ave store).

    ReplyDelete
  69. xoxo and Elaine - I wear the heidi dress with a v neck cap sleeve tissue tee underneath. I have several in different colors from a few years ago. They cover just enough cleavage and the cap sleeves don't show under the dress. The POW fabric is masculine and contrasts nicely with the feminine ruffle. It's my favorite dress from F/W/10.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Correction: the flats that I saw at the Madison Ave store are the Kerrington (with the elastic all around and the fabric bow) and not the Kelcey. Sorry for the confusion. Those of you who have them, did you size up (compared to the leather balley flats)? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ema: I have the kerrington in bright orange and I bought them in a size 9.5 (which is my J. Crew size). That said, I have very narrow feet so I often have to return shoes to get them in a smaller size because the shoes I have bought are too wide. J. Crew shoes are among the only shoes I can wear and not have to return! I would say these run narrow, but I find them to be very comfortable!

    The length runs tts.

    Hope that helps!

  72. Amy,
thanks for the tip! Now, when you say WWFIFM, do you mean the regular find it for me service? Do I need to toto q store or just call a Jcrew personal shopper or CS? It would be so nice if I could find a size 0!!!
Thanks again for sharing your experience and wish me good luck!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ema, can you tell me how much the cashmere cardigan with the zip pockets was at Rock Center? I just found one in my size in mossy oak and love it! Wouldn't mind getting another if the price is good. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Dina, thanks! From what you say I think I need a 7 in those (while I am a 6H in the leather ballet flats).

Shopalot, it wasn't the same sweater that you have in mossy oak. It is the one from the summer, with 3/4 sleeves and a zipper in the center (instead of buttons). It was marked $99 but I am sure it went down to $69 so it should be $41 with the 40% off. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  75. Amy,
Yes, pls keep me in mind if the blazer doesn't work for you!!!

  76. Thanks for the info, Ema; you are so helpful. I forgot about the other zip cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  77. newyork0311, I meant the regular WWFIFY service via the 1-800 number, since the item is still full price online. I hope you find one, and yes, mine should arrive tomorrow and I'll contact you if it doesn't work for me. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Shopalot, you are welcome. I forgot to mention that the Madison Ave store had the keyhole cashmere sweater in cobblestone in a few sized (including a xs) and a black one in a L. They are under the table where they have the waverly chinos if I am not wrong and not in sthe sale section. They were marked $99 before the 40% off. HTH!

  82. Gigi Thanks so much for linking to that post on the Capella! I'm thinking that it's going to be a pass for me now, based on reviews and comments, esp. b/c you said it was very lightweight. I live in a cold weather climate and need warmth! I'm off to check out the Trudie now...
