J.Crew Email: ALERT: Brand-new sale additions, in stores and online

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who shared the following email J.Crew sent this morning.

The email announces that new styles have been added to the Final Sale (click here to shop online).

I must have checked too late this morning because I could not see too many new styles. In fact, the sale section is looking pretty empty for me (500+ items). Hopefully some of you got to see some great items at some great prices! :)

Did you check out the Final Sale section? Did you get any items? If so, please share! :)

  1. new items? I don't see a darn thing new and I was on at about 5am! Come on J. Crew don't try to pull our legs...

  2. I see a few things I want, but no way am I buying without an extra discount. They have trained me well. Raaaaaaaaarrrrr!

  3. I'm not wasting my time looking over at FS inventory where there's not much update. I've got shipments coming from last week's promo so I'm done shopping for a long time!

  4. I was also up at 5 am and didn't see one new thing. What gives Jcrew?

  5. Not even looking. Already got burned on last week's FS. (Chevron cami? It's huuuuge!)

  6. I was up early and didn't see a big update & did not peruse for new merchandise in FS. I did do a few searches to see if I could get a 'preview' of the new roll-out but don't have the patience or time or interest today. I have to say the shopping addiction/shopping ban posts on Gigi's blog are a bit of a buzz-
kill for those of us wanting to throw our money away!! Lol, just kidding. They really are excellent posts and are an excellent read & reality check.

  7. I've been waiting for the dream zip cardigan in Cypress in size Small...and finally it's there today! This sweater is super soft and really cute on...in case anyone else is wondering about it.

I also bought the Rustic Twill Boy Shirt (not a sale item)...let you guys know how it fits/looks after I get the package.

  8. @IRL - Gigi's blog post on shopping addiction had a similar effect on me. Normally the JCrew sale website is the first thing I look at in the morning but after reading her post, I shut down the browser window and started packing up some of the stuff I got during the December sales to return. The 40% off promo this past weekend really got me - I bought a few hundred dollars worth of stuff which I am now regretting but as it's final sale I am stuck with it or else it's going on Ebay. :-(

  9. There was an update sometime just recently. The Haya Sequin sweatshirt (size Medium) and Buffalo Check jacket (size 2) are both online right now if anyone is still looking for them.

  10. I would appriciate anyone who can point me to either a factory store or if they are willing to sell a:

    Striped Merino Boyfriend Sweatshirt
    Size Medium
    Ivory/Navy

    Please email me:

  11. There's that update! I still didn't get the zip leather gloves I want (still stalking!) but was able to score another infinity cardigan. My black one goes with everything, so I'm stoked to have a grey one on the way now.

  12. I see that the Timber Tweed skirt popped back and is still available in size 00 and 2. If anyone is looking for a size 6, I have one that was wrongly sent to me and will sell for $60 shipped.

  13. I think it was updated later in the day... just checked and it's around 800 items...

  14. I saw a popback of a sweater from last season that I wanted but, like Elaine said, I'm not buying FS now that the extra discount is gone. I still have new, unworn items from all the recent sales, and several things waiting to be altered, so I really don't need anything more right now anyway.

  15. @thebohemienne - I just got an Infinity cardigan and while I like it (I think it'll be really good for the spring), I was curious how you're styling it?

    Thanks!

  16. And subtracted? Don't know about the new styles added, but some chinos I had in my cart that were on sale went up by $10!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Are the stores still having an extra % off final sale deal?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Extra 50% off at B&M (Burlington, MA). Just scored the Timber Tweed skirt, paid $45!

  19. Not buying anything else but my infinity cardigans are both pilling HORRIBLY. I have another on the way and I will definitely be returning it. I don't care that it only cost $27. Not worth it AT ALL. I mean they pilled horribly on the arms after wearing for a few hours. That is not reasonable.

  20. extra 50% sale? zoinks! now that's a sale.

re: pilling ... the merino de longeur cardi i scored for a steal in my B&M is also pilling willy-nilly. very disappointing. and i can't even shave the fuzz off of it at work anymore, since a gaggle of coworkers gathered round my door and giggled the last time i did. not tough to guess what they thought i was doing in there with the door shut, bwaaahh! we all had a good laugh when i flung the doorm open.

good thing i have a sense of humor. but i'm still mad about my pilly sweater. :P

  21. Elaine, OMG! OMG! I literally LOL'd at your post and I'm still stifling a full on guffaw! That is so funny, I am almost in tears. Bahahaha!

  22. Re: pilling

I know other JCAs have already pointed this out, but I did the same with my arrow sweater jackets...I tried on the camel color and boy, after a few wears, you could tell it was pilling under the arms. My other sweater jackets from previou seasons (piazza, cadance, sophie, alice) are all looking good after a few seasons. That made me bring back the elm and black back to the store, no matter how much I love sweater jackets and how cheap I got them (30%off).

  23. Elaine, reminds me of the time when many JCAs were so annoyed with pilling they discussed sending the pills & fuzz to MD?

  24. Anyone own the Wool crepe blazer!?! I ordered it and want some comments on quality, fit, etc. if there are any.

Also ordered the fineline cami, which I think is a new item. Hard to pass up the gorgeous blue color. Will review when it arrives!

  25. Extra 50% off sale at Montgomery Mall, MD, but selection is pretty slim, mostly tees and cords and dulphine cardis.

But some items perhaps of interest to JCAs, prices are before 50% discount:

    - Black Blaze coat (31319) in either 4 or 6, $160 I think

    - Lace rows tank (34026), an 8 and a 6 I think (the 6 is perhaps my return, hahaha), $40

    - Raindrop cowlneck cami (34222), don't remember the size or price, sorry =(

    - Plaid Eliza tee (32644), can't remember the size but there were at least 2 of them on the racks, $30 I think

    - Starry Night mini (33614), in both black and gold, both size 0, $80

    - Timber tweed skirt, size 0, $90

I'm all shopped out so I was just browsing. My 40% off orders last week are still in 'release' mode, I am anticipating a lot of cancellation emails. After patching yet another hole in another merino cardi (the Infinity), I think I would rather NOT have my orders filled. I love J Crew, but they really have to step up the quality of their items. No more holes, please!

  26. I received my order from last week's additional 40% off promotion and I added a review of the Minnetonka shearling-lined boots (item 32134) to yesterday's reviews thread. I like them (I'm wearing them right now), but they're not really appropriate to wear as winter boots IMO.

  27. Has anyone tried on/bought the knit houndstooth pant and can tell me if they run big/small/true to size? I love them but they don't have any size 2 left. They do have size 0, and sometimes depending on the fit I can wear that. However, since it's final sale and you can't return I don't want to find out the hard way....

  28. I mentioned a while ago that my Arrow sweater was pilling after just a few wears. Too bad, because I love it and would've bought other colors (I got it in Elm). Because of the pilling, I don't wear it as often as I could like.
I have two Infinity sweaters (black and black pine -- or is it seaweed, I can't tell!) and they are pilling a bit, but since they're a darker color, it's not as noticeable. What is noticeable is the white hair that the sweater attracts from my Westies! :( Oh well, this is why I have so many lint rollers. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  29. All the pilling is why I didn't buy the arrow this year nor any of JCrew's sweaters. A first for me in many years not to buy a sweater from JCRew! Just did not want to chance it or deal with it anymore. Thanks for the posts that tell me I made a wise decision>
