"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)

This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. I posted this on another thread yesterday...but the B&M near me (Barton Creek Square in Austin, TX) had 30 % off EVERYTHING as of about 2:30 pm yesterday...not just sale items! As I was standing at the register to pay for some sale and FP items, the SA was handed a memo letting her know that everything in the store was 30% off. I am going to check out the Domain store today and see if they are offering the same great deal. This means the FP pink Rick Buffalo check shirt was 30% off! And it's so cute I had been willing to pay FP for it!

  3. This past week my PS sent me a large envelope; inside was the current catalog, a hand-written note from her wish me a merry Christmas and a $50 gift card.

  5. After jcrew guy in Canada's post, I have to ask... can someone fill me in on the whole PS experience? I've never used one before but I'm curious if I'm missing out on things. Aside from jgiC's perks, do you find out about things sooner? Get harder-to-find items easier?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  8. My Merino dore cardigan is amazing. It did shrink in the wash (I never hand-wash things even if instructed to) but it fits snugly and is super comfortable. The merino is a pretty good knit. The sleeves do have a little bit of fuzzing, but I really don't mind that. I have the rustic barn color and it's a gorgeous reddish orange. Hoping the vintage navy comes back in my size online...

  9. It's not a $50 gift card (wahoo, that's awesome for those of you who receive it)...but I did receive a "Happy Holidays" Orange 2011 Daily Agenda (just like the pink one from last year).

I am beyond pleased as that darn pink planner went everywhere with me last year. I am that person that still writes in all appts., info, and dates with a pencil and piece of paper, so this is a great gift, imo.

Thanks, Mickey, J. Crew, my awesome PS Ashley, and everyone else at J. Crew who keeps me coming back for more. LOL.

Oh, and can I just mention the L-O-V-E I have for the Marled Thandie blazer? I just got it yesterday at the Pentagon City b&m and it is flattering, comfortable, and a little bit dressy. How did I miss it all those months ago? (Of course by waiting, I got a great deal--$35!)

  12. I sent an email to "erica" asking if a search for that adorable tartan shirt (the one a JC cs person laughed at me for attempting to purchase since I was so late in asking for, aka the one that sold out in 48 hours last month) and lo and behold, she found one in my size! Am still awaiting shipping confirmation, but still, how kind of her to try. Yay for JC customer service, at least for Emily Mercado!

  13. ch., using a PS is definitely worthwhile. In my case she was able to track down a Ludlow worsted wool suit at a bricks/mortars store. Otherwise I would have given up.

  14. kriswerc, here's hoping your shirt ships ASAP. It's such a pretty shirt, I'm sure you will look smashing in it.

The personal shoppers are great. When I ask mine to do a find it search, she can see the store inventory. I asked CS about it once and they said they don't have access to that so if that is true it's definitely better to ask a PS. For all the things J.Crew seems to poorly, their personal shopper service is one that really shines.

  15. ch. The Ps is definitely worth it. I've come to rely on mine for reviews of items and getting me hard to find items. She's done price adjustments and dealt with the odd quality issues.

Being far away from a store I find the reviews of items regarding fit, fabric and colour. I've been dealing with her for over two years and I really trust her.

  16. I've recvd all orders with correct items/sizes in all of my boxes.

Kudos to Walnut Creek Pleasanton & Emeryville personnel for being so fabulous whether they recognize me or not. I've gotten some excellent, excellent service this holiday season.
