Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER & FALL sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  2. I popped in yesterday, and took some IRL pics here, but managed to leave without buying anything. Miracle!

  3. I tried and couldn't get there. I figured I'd wait until the new rollout later this week.

  4. Went to the JCrew outlet - they had some of faves from seasons' past, including the Kelsey cami, mohair souffle cardi and the professor blazer. Snagged a Kelsey cami for 29.99--couldn't tell any difference from B&M aside from price. There was also a gorgeous black textured wool pencil skirt, but with no % off I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger!

  5. Like Dessert Flower-I tried but could not get there. Had a couple of items on hold that I know are gone now. Oh well. Couldn't be helped.

    Thanks for the pictures shopwithm:)

  6. No percent off at my store... and they didn't have anything good. I only went in to return and rebuy a sweater that I just bought weeks ago and is already half off. I am refusing to buy anything full price because this has happened to me so many times in the last two months and I'm tried of going back and forth!

  7. Kimberly where is your outlet that had the mohair cardigan? Was it the regular JC from last fall? Thanks

  8. Went to both a retail store (Southpark in Charlotte) and an outlet store (Blowing Rock) and walked out with nothing. Didn't even try anything on...

  9. I went to my b&M to do a bunch of returns and got a pair of cute cargo olive colored capris for $49. they fit great and are a good basic. Also, bought that cute Paris tee, but it's pretty low cut and I think I'd have to wear a cami underneath. Not sure I'm keeping it.

  10. just got an email from those generous-spirited folks at JC: the dream open-shawl cardigan has been reduced to $80 from $118, web only, 3 days only. Huh.

  11. Just got the same email as WFF- the dream draped v-sweater is marked down to $69.50 as well.

  12. If anyone has a 20% off coupon code you are not going to use. I will purchase it from you. I need to place a rather large order and it would help immensely! There are 2 on Ebay, but I don't want to bid, I just want to BIN.

    TIA!!!

  13. No additional % off at my stores. :-/ Nothing for me this weekend, I cut myself off after getting the Pilar paisley perfect shirt on Friday.

Waiting for two FS orders to be delivered today and tomorrow. One is just belts and the other is more light-colored, lightweight tops to take to Disney next month. I have come to the conclusion that each of us will need 2 outfits per day, as we completely sweat through the first by lunchtime. Urrggh!

  14. I did get the Valerian cardi and absolutely LOVE it. Fit is TTS. Colors are gorgeous (if you like brighter colors which I do) and so far I have paired it with both the Bettina in olive and a plain white tank and received TONS of compliments both times. This is a cardi that will go with many fall colors and I am honestly quite excited about that. :)

  15. Has anyone tried on the Arrow sweater? I am wondering if it is at all like the Camilla Sweater jacket from a few years ago. I was wanting something with that thickness.

    Thanks.

  16. jcrewjunkie,
That was one item on hold that I was unable to get. Gone now. Oh well. Glad you liked yours and it works so well for you. Yeah! Colors are different IRL than online so I did not want to chance it with final sale online and just missed it in the stores. There will be others that are strking/pretty I am sure again:)

  17. Another rollout this week? Did I read that correctly Desert Flower?

    I can't keep up;)

  18. Leadergirl, yes I tried on the Arrow hoping it is similar to the Camilla. Fabric is different & thicker (merino not cotton), there are no front pockets and the collar is bigger & wider. It is because of this huge collar which did not go well with my thin neck & petite frame that I left it behind. It is well-made, however. It's TTS, thick, cozy but quite bulky. Perfect for winter maybe five months down the road & not a compelling purchase at this time.

I fell in love & bought the plaid boyfriend cardigan, one of the better merino choices out there. Fits TTS, drapes well & the plaid placket is slightly textured and not thin. All my other purchases were accessories: the dressage belt in heather saddle (lovely over my long cardigans & couble serge skirts, but I sized up to a medium), the wool scarf in vintage wisteria and the tweed fedora. I think that's it for me with this rollout.

  19. @gem twin - Leesburg, VA outlet. I'm not 100% sure if it was exactly the same as last year, but looked pretty darn close as far as I can recall. Colors included a pinkish-lavender, off-white, tan, and charcoal.

  21. Just popped into my B&M at lunchtime for a quick return. Not too much popped out at me with the exception of the Lumière ruffle cardigan - I know this may not be a big hit being all about the ruffles and the mohair, but I personally love my mohair cardi from last fall (tough not to snag it, but I've done pretty well) and I always get compliments when I wear it. Was hoping to find the sequin bloomer shorts but no luck... I think they're so cute but wouldn't buy them without trying them on first unless I had another item in my cart to push me over the $150 free shipping threshold. Right now I am waiting for the anticipated reductions before pulling the trigger on any of the new items, with the exception of the bloomers which I suspect were produced in limited quantities.

They did have lots of microspun tops on sale ($29.99 I think?) which I was tempted by but fortunately did not have much time to browse. Better to wait and find out how my microspun cowlneck holds up first since I've only worn it twice ;)

  22. Totally just forgot to ask, can anyone comment on the fit of the Gusto cami? I love it and have read a few comments saying it's lovely in person but I'm concerned about fit since it's not offered in petite and is final sale despite being catalog/jcrew.com only. I usually wear a P0 for reference and quite often I find that regular 0's are just way too large on me due to vanity sizing... I really want to bite but I fear getting stuck with a top that's going to cost me more in alterations than it's worth.

  23. Kimberly, how much was the professor blazer at the Crewlet? What colors were available? I was just thinking last night about how much I want a professor blazer and was sad that I missed it! Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  24. @MDPA - I think the professor blazer was in the neighborhood of 188? Can never remember with outlets because of all the assorted promos! It definitely had a promo on it, either some % or $ amount off. Only color they had when I was there was the gray with deep-mustard-ish lapel trim.

  25. Went to both the Bellevue and Downtown Seattle stores today ^_^;;;. Both had this gorgeous green silk button-down cami with a miniature floral print in I think some orange, purple, and cream colors that I really wanted. It reminded me of a forest or woodland flowers - very lush and fairy-like. It was $118 though. Unfortunately it appears to be retail-only so I don't know if I'd be able to snag it on sale online either :-/.

Downtown also had these black wool marching-band style jackets with a diagonal zip. Appears to be retail-only and there were only two left.

There were also still several Crystal Drop necklaces in the clear color at both stores; I picked one up at Bellevue.

I'll put up some fitting room pics in a bit.

  26. socialscientist, I'm interested to see the band jacket you mentioned. The style has been featured quite a bit this summer and Vogue features a Madewell version, as well as J.Crew's tuxedo stripe chinos. I've been looking at different ones but nothing jumps out at me so maybe J.Crew has what I want. I'm emailing my PS to find out.

  30. Jeanne - I just saw the marching band jacket on Net a Porter! But it's not on the regular website [yet]. It's also $165 on Net a Porter but $188 in stores. What the . . . ?

  31. Thanks, SS. I would never have thought to check there. The jacket is really cute but I wish it wasn't so short.
