J.Crew Email: Final sale + new styles added. In stores and online.

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know about J.Crew's latest email.

J.Crew is letting us know that new styles have been added to their final sale, both online (click here) and in stores. Many JCAs confirmed this news as they mentioned seeing (1) pop-backs at yesterday's sale update, and (2) prices being lowered on items, both at their stores and online.

Are you planning to check out J.Crew's Sale Section? Are you going to take advantage of this offer? If so, please share! :)

  1. I saw a LOT of great items in the sale section this morning - pop backs, reductions, and new items! How exciting! Since my store often has different prices than online (and possibly still an extra 20%?) I think I will stop there after work and see if there are any irresistible deals :)

  2. It wasn't a final sale item. I finally managed to snatch the crystal constellation cardigan in a pop back.Yay!!!!! I have loved it from day one and was so dissapointed when I missed out. I did use the free shipping promotion which helped a little since it wasn't on sale.

  3. i highly recommend the strapless embossed beach dresses that have popped back. they are perfect and can be dressed up or down.

  4. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you has the silk georgette suit blouse # 15006. I have to add one additional piece for free shipping and I am considering this one. Is it nice? Does it fit true to size? is the buff color sand-ish or pink-ish? Thanks

  5. Elnobe, I thought it fit relatively TTS but was cut very slim in the bust (and I'm a 34A). My regular size 2 fit nice but gaped at the button-hole directly at the bust line. I returned it - not sure if sizing up would help because it would be big in the shoulders. I thought the fabric was very nice, and that the buff was a little more sandy than pinkish.

  6. Does this mean the 20% off is over in store?

Also - I clicked over to see Patina's cardi, since I knew she had been loving it, and it is sold out. (yay for snagging it, Patina!)But there is a new sold out message on the website offering to find it in their stores with a 1-800 number to call. I sent you a copy, Alexis. This is the first time I've seen that message. (or maybe they are only that generous with the Collection/more expensive items?)

  8. A few weeks ago, I had mentioned that I had bought some new fall items at my local B&M. One of the items I purchased was flying off the shelves. I happened to find it on the website for anyone that might be interested. The only way it shows up is by typing the keywords.

It's called the tissue sparkling rose tee (item 18079, $42.50).

It comes in 2 colors. I loved the shirt so much I bought both colors. The pictures don't do it justice, it's much prettier in person when you see the sequins.

  9. I looked through the sale and there is nothing great that I want on final sale. I have a bunch of returns to do as it is. I think I'm good unless I see some special fall pieces.

    Happy Shopping to others!

  10. I got an order yesterday from some final sale stuff with the 20% off. I purchased the silk treasure tunic in blush and I was so surprised at how much I loved it! The silk is beautiful and the brown and blush colors will be great for Fall. I'm thinking I could pair it with some matchstick cords in acorn. It was a great buy! ( if you'd like to see a review- check out this: http://abiggercloset.blogspot.com/search?q=treasure+tunic

  11. Plan to head to the stores later to check out the final sale... called a store to find out that the 20% off is still going on and the SA has no idea when it'll end but she did say more items were added to the sale section.

  12. I've been drooling over the Silk Indigo Floral blouse ever since it came out, so I grabbed it this morning. The price ($69.99) was higher than I would typically pay for a sleeveless top, but I suspect this is really popular item, so I took the plunge. Bought another pair of Saturday pants in Mossy Shadow, too. Happy shopping, everyone!

  13. jcrewfanatic: is the sparkling rose tee sheer?

    ReplyDelete
  14. AppGal,

The sparkling rose tee is similar to the infamous rose tee. I usually don't wear anything underneath. Hope this helps!

  15. I purchased a slub cotton ripple-ruffle tee the first time final sale came around, and I loved it so much I checked back for it when the 20% coupon was around. It had already sold out in my size, and I was bummed. But this morning, it showed up again in my size and the color I wanted! It looks like I snapped up one of the last, because it's no longer showing that my size is available. I'm quite content with that purchase.

  16. grrrrr.... I am so mad. I purchased a skirt a couple of weeks ago, and the SA wouldn't return it b/c the sku doesn't match the recipt, but it's the item I purchsed!! The original SA must have scanned the wrong item. NOT happy. Anyone have an experience with this? thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It is so funny how one person gem is not another person's. That sparkling rose tee is not for me! I saw it and about laughed outloud. Way over the top for my tastes. To each his own. Glad there is lots to suit us all.

Bedazzler from the 70's anyone? (that is what I thought) :)

  20. One thing that is frustrating: I bought a couple final sale items at the extra 20% off sale (the metallic strati tanks). Then I saw that the same items have been marked down even lower for today's sale. The customer service rep on the phone told me that they do not honor sale price adjustments on sale items. This is new to me. I don't like how the odds are stacked against the customer in getting a fair deal when it comes to their reurn/exchange policy AND final sale items in general.

  21. JC - was the skirt on sale? could you go to a different store and tell them it was a gift or you lost the receipt? they should be able to give you store credit at least.

  23. jennyleeruns,
That has been a policy for a very long time....occasionally they would adjust a sale item "as a one time courtesy but in the past few months...now probaly going on 8 or 9...they are very strict. It states it clearly on their website info. and always has...

  25. Sorry about that, everyone! I'm a n00b.

I spend enough money with J.Crew - and I'm sure you all do too - that I find final sale to be unfair. They should add a level to the J.Crew card that once you spend over a certain amount of money, no sale would ever be final...and all shipping would be free!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Angie,
It is OK. I think it is very unfair too. That is why I refuse to buy final sale. I stick by it no matter what and just window shop or check other people's blogs:)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dang ... now I want to know what Angie said!! ;) I don't want to be the next person who says something we're trying to keep secret!! I wish we all would have been quieter about the 99 quantity check thing so they wouldn't have changed it! I miss that!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh Lindsey,
I miss that 99 thing too!

  29. j.crew fanatic: would you mind sharing some IRL pics of the tissue sparkling rose tee?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Lindsey, I'm with you! What did Angie say?!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I could tell you but...I think you know what I would have to do next. ;)

  32. I just ordered the Tissue Sparkling Rose Tee (in champagne) and the Pixie Pants (in black) to try, along with a super cheap swim top I've been wanting ... I'll review the first two on my blog when they come in. I'd love to see some IRL pics of the tee, as well!

  33. My B&M still has the extra 20% though the SA didn't know how long it would last (I also asked about paying the full sale price and having the item not be final sale and the SA said they do that, but only in special circumstances like gifts).

I scored a great cardigan (it looks like the sorbet striped one, but with no stripes?) for $16. They had a great selection, but not a whole, whole lot in my size.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bekkah,
I got the same sweater and it pills terribly! (and it is not their cashmere) Friends have had the same problem with theirs...sad but true:(

  35. I got a Francie skirt online this morning, in the dark peony color. I am wondering if I can get some feedback about this skirt. Anyone her own it? Thoughts? I just could not resist because it was such a pretty color and the cut looked very nice.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jacquelyn, I have the Francie skirt in Ivory, and I really like it. It's cute and different and it's a great fall wardrobe piece. I like to wear it the same way the model in the photo wears it (minus the tie).

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have the Francie in dark peony & adore it - it's a great color & cut. I wear it with a tissue t-neck & jacket or with a cashmere boatneck (but don't get me started on my J.Crew cashmere - cripes that stuff pills. Not buying another one!! grrr).

I hope you'll be happy with the skirt, Jacquelyn :-)

  38. Hey ladies! They had three 'coveted' pieces at my B&M this afternoon, add'l 20% still going on.

    1. Silk indigo floral blouse (16413), 4 - $69.99

    2. Eyelet pencil skirt, shadow, 4 - $99.99

    3. Cricket cardigan, XS, navy - $59.99

    Hope this helps someone!

  39. Thanks, jcrewfanatic! That helps a lot. Would also love to see IRL pics! Out of the 2 colors, which would you have gotten if you could only get one?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bekah-

I have that cardigan in three colors and love it. I've had it for a while and it has not pilled at all. Great purchase!

  41. Crewbie - you (and ABC) just talked me into buying the silk treasure tunic on final sale - $39.99! I hope it fits and is as lovely as both of you stated.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jennyleeruns, I'm with you...I did the same thing and I feel so cheated by JC! I spent so much (too much) but they ever honor my requests, and their service hasn't been tops like other years. I'm starting to believe that all the Obama fame has gotten to their heads...

  44. Jacquelyn - I also own the Francie skirt in 2 colors, black and majestic purple and love it. The cut is a flattering A line I think and the fabric is very soft - a nice blend of wool and cashmere. Like La Belle Helene, I like to wear mine with a tissue t neck too!
    Enjoy!

  45. Does anyone have the Silk georgette pleated top (item 15005)? I was wondering about the fit and quality of the silk as compared the other silk tops. TIA.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sharon - I would, but I paid $69.99 for the skirt about a month ago. It's now been marked down to $39.99, so I'll lose out on $30! If it was $5.00 I would be like whatever, but that's a big difference. I'm going to try a different store tomorrow to see if the manager is a little nicer. It isn't MY fault if the dingbat who rung me up the first time around entered the wrong sku!!! I am starting to get sick of some of the people at certain J.Crew stores who just don't get the meaning of customer service!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. ava - I have it in the pink and love it. It's lined with a lighter silk, and mich better quality than some of their other silk tops, IMO. It fits a little big, so I sized down.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am so curious as to what Angie said! Maybe we need to start a private blog solely for sharing tips and secrets!! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. JC - Thank you. I've tried the double silk and the pleated georgette and they weren't right for me. I think I'll give this one a try, even though I'm a zero and can't size down. It will be a bit blousey but I plan to wear it under a suit. Thanks again!

  50. Not sure if someone has already mentioned this, but J. Crew is referenced in an article about Katherine Heigl in the August issue of In Style. She states that she "dresses right out of the catalogue!" And she is "rocking their cardigans over blouses and boyfriend jeans." I just bought a pair of the Vintage Slim Jeans that I've rolled up...love them!!

  51. I got Pearl-cluster necklace on sale and I really don’t like it – too big, too much.
I think I should return it.

  52. I wrote a story about Saving Money at J. Crew today with a link to you. My blog is called www.morewithlesstoday.com and it's all about finding ways to save money on everything. I hope you like what I wrote. All my best, Lori

  53. JC--I had a somewhat similar situation to yours where the SA ringing me up made a mistake and then I tried to return the item and couldn't. I just asked to speak to a manager and explained what happened. I felt bad about the whole situation because there was no proof I wasn't just making it up, but I would have been out about $50 if I hadn't spoken up. If you ask to talk to someone who can help you (a manager) and be nice and apologetic but firm, maybe they will let you make the return, too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And I just saw your comment about going to a different store to speak with another manager--I hope you have better luck!

  55. I could not resist the indigo floral top. I had been debating paying full price for it just the other day! I'm thrilled it went on sale. I notice the indigo floral skirt is sold out.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bekkah,
I have to agree with Genny. That sweater pilled terribly. I only wore mine for and afternoon and had to return it. The SA agreed with me as well. Maybe others have a different batch? or different colors don't pill as much but mine was a mess!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Has anyone tried the lightweight-denim trouser in workwear wash? I've been eyeing these for a while but I haven't seen any comments on how they fit. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  58. AppGal:

If I had to pick just one of the sparkling rose tees, I'd get the champagne (the colors popped more on this one; also, I've bought a lot of J Crew tees lately in gray). However, the floral design is slightly different on each.

I will be away for the next 2 weeks, so I'll try to post some IRL pics if I get a chance. If not, maybe Lindsey B can post some when her tee arrives.

  59. Okay, this is a random question but I'm not sure where else to post it. I've had my eye on the tissue ruffle v-neck tee (14971) but since it's not shipping yet, I've held off on buying it. I'm assuming they're taking pre-orders on that item though, and I'm just wondering if it's likely that the item will sell out as soon as it starts shipping. Has anyone experienced anything like that with other J.Crew items? Should I place a pre-order, or do you think it will be fine?
