Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring sale, or to see some new Summer arrivals {wahoo!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I went to the store in Soho today, and there were NO sale items. What? I have never, ever seen a J.Crew with no sale section before. Weird. Anyway, I wandered down to the new Men's shop after, and Mickey was at the store! I guess he goes in all the time. Anyway, the personal shopper was carrying my daughter all over the store and introduced her to Mickey! (I unfortunately was too busy picking out my hubby's birthday gift). I wanted to tell him of my love for the Crew, but I wasn't sure if that would be stalkerish or not, lol. Anyway, I guess he makes the rounds to the stores frequently, which is impressive for a CEO to be so involved in the company on the ground level.

  2. I went to the Bridgewater, NJ store. The dressy jersey twist-strap dress is on sale in all colors for $49.99. It runs big, so watch out! Other than that, the same stuff.

  3. Willow Grove PA had several of the bow-front pencil skirts in dark green and bright pink.

They also had one of the watercolor pencil skirts in a size 10 I believe.

Lots of polo shirts on sale for $14.99.

Pleated lawn skirts in pewter and pink, size 4 or 6 I think, $19.99.

A couple of the tiered ruffle skirts, size 4 and 6 as I noticed, $79.99.

The brown and the pink summerweight bermudas were $29.99.

Saturday pants in pink, champagne, white, and moss were $29.99.

A few white atelier jackets were there, $89.99. I know I saw a size 0, but I can't remember the other sizes.

Boyfriend tissue t's in some colors were $14.99.

I also saw one large gold Thompson tote.

    That's all I remember ... HTH someone!

  4. Hi, Does anyone know if the charmeuse pencil skirt runs TTS? TIA

    ReplyDelete
  5. jcma - would say the charmeuse pencil skirt fits TTS to slightly big depending on your body type. I got it in my normal size and it's slightly big but I like it on my hips so it's good.

Got to run by and take back a couple of things.

If anyone sees the cotton-cashmere bouquet in navy or tea rose in medium let me know.

  6. According to the Jcrew at North Lake Mall, Jcrew will no longer be running Additional % of Sale Item Promos. Jcrew will also no longer be combining the Student Discount to Items already on sale.

  7. They are going to loose business. They have been offering % off for many many years......

I cannot believe in this economy they are cutting promos!

I won't be shopping as much there sad to say...I always wait for the additional % off and then hit all 3JCrew stores near me....was really fun and something I have done for 5 years now.

  8. If anyone sees Cate high heel slingbacks on sale in their store, please let me know. My store is small and doesn't carry shoes. Mrsnonia@aol.com. Thanks, and happy shopping!

JCMA, I have the charmeuse pencil skirt in a 0, I normally take a 2 in Crew skirts. I wear it sort of between the waist and hip, if that makes sense. I love this skirt, have it in all three colors.

I was at the Willow Grove PA store last night! (Sometimes I go to King of Prussia for the shoes and jewelry). One of the guy SA's came over and said that they are receiving a new shipment next week and it should be out on Wed. He also said a lot of stuff will then go to the sale section. Basically, he suggested I wait until next week unless I was **needing** something that day. Yeah!

  10. Based on what I see on-line and in the catalog, there is nothing that would bring me into a store this weekend. I did do a once-thru of the short hills, nj store this past week, and it was a quick walk through at that.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is the shipment new items or just a restocking of current offerings. New things just came out in stores recently so I cannot imagine new stuff already???? hmmm....

  12. Hi Desert Flower, I did see some Cate slingbacks in the NY stores - mostly patent leather ones. I actually bought a Cate patterned slingbacks in Washed Shell color. So lovely! You have to ask the sales associate for it because most stores don't put all the shoes on the sale section even though they're on sale. Maybe not enough space?

  13. Mags - That's good to know! Thanks for the heads up. I sometimes go to KOP as well; I could spend hours in there, haha. I heard a couple of the guys at Willow Grove (probably the same ones) talking about how their last summer shipment is in two weeks, then they will start transitioning to fall. Craziness!

  14. I've got some returns, but I think I'll wait until Monday. The kids only have 2 more days of school, and I'm not working either of those days. I'll spend Monday running around and I'll spend Tuesday quietly by myself.

  15. jcma: The charmeuse pencil definitely runs slightly big. I sized down. However, I have a pretty narrow frame... not much in the hip area. I could have worn my normal size but it was too big for my taste. Sizing down gave a better fit but still is nowhere near tight. It's perfect!

I'm going to the Beachwood, OH store to return some things today... but I'm not expecting to buy anything.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I did a quick browse Thursday morning. Nothing new seemed to have been added to the sale, no percent off. I wonder if it's true that that's not coming back? Yikes, that will absolutely cut how much I spend there.

  17. Lilac Cupcake & Summer

They didn't say what was being put out. I would love to see a few more interesting summer things (as long as it's not made of slub cotton). It is only May for crying out loud!

How about short sleeved cardis or something instead of website/catalog only?? I could use some nice stuff for work, too. Willow Grove B&M doesn't carry swim stuff, either, it's pretty small.

  18. Does any one know what timet he site updated today?
I checked it at 7, and most of then had the red soldout sign

  19. My PS told me that the watercolor floral skirts will be restocked Mid June !!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. My sa told me that the new July line would be in my b&m on June 9th. They'll actually have all 3 lines' new items on the floor that day! Since school will be out, I'll be there sometime that day. Since we had that little sneak peek here, I'm excited to see a couple of items.

Btw, the Charleston, SC, store had several watercolor skirts - since I own it, I didn't check the sizes. Also, the ripstop pants in white and shell are on sale in store for 49.99.

  22. I just ordered the Cairo tunic on sale in burnished olive. It looks like a really nice basic, but I missed it first time around. Has anyone else tried it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Just got back from Westport store, where I finally scored the ottoman Aubrey jacket in navy, $29.99. Yahoo! They had one more in 4 and one in 8 (I think). Other than that, the sale section was just O.K.

  24. Would the NY store have the Augusta peep toes or flats?

    ReplyDelete
  25. No time to get out shopping, just checking a few things online. Lately J.Crew is dumping my cart every other day. Is it just me or anyone else having this too? I keep putting things back but I know I'm missing something, I'm short one item. Of course, if I can't remember what it is, do I really 'need' it? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Absolutely nothing new in the sale section at Beachwood. I was very disappointed, but it felt pretty good to return a bunch of stuff and not buy anything, for once!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Emily - I purchased and quickly returned the Cairo Tunic, item 12650, in Tea Rose. The fit was not at all flattering. It reminded me of something a doctor or nurse would wear at the hospital. I'm sure it works for some but not for me.

(I kind of knew from the pictures on the website it wasn't going to be a keeper but sometimes I can't stop myself from trying new items out! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Pakcola, try the collection store on Madison Ave. They had the Augusta peep toes earlier this month...not sure about the flats.

    ReplyDelete
  29. happy life - glad they had your size. I love mine and I hope you love yours!

    ReplyDelete
  30. SallyO,
I love that ottoman Aubrey jacket. I got mine for $49.99 on sale couple months ago. Anyone seen Joley flats in black size 7?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Pakcola, the Madison Avenue collection store used to have the Augusta heels & flats a few months ago but I went there like a couple weeks ago... they don't have them anymore. The SA told me they shipped the "old" items out and make room for the new items on the selling floor. I think you can only buy them online. I returned mine in size 6 to the Columbus Circle store today.

  32. I returned a pair of Graphite suede Coralies size 7 to Lake Forest IL yesterday, and picked up a Cotton-Cashmere Bouquet Cardi in Putty S. It was the only one, marked 49.99 but SA matched 19.99 online price for me.

Also had: several white and navy Ateliers, lots of boyfriend tees, one Croc cardi in S, Keegan in 2,4 in Khaki, several Keegans in dark slate color, 2 Frenchie slickers, several Cates and sandals, a couple Belle clutches and small/large gold Thompson totes. Also a hot mess of tired looking cashmere and Michelle cardis. Don't recall all sizes/prices but HTH someone.

  33. Site updated for today. Lots of things that are IN STOCK. In fact, everything I clicked on was in stock...limited sizes and/or color but it was nice to see it actually there!

  34. did it update just now?

  35. Went to the Wrentham, MA outlets yesterday. Picked up a cotton-stretch-knit dress ("lisa dress") and a couple ribbed tanks for a total of $56.xx. Nothing out of the ordinary..

-Some cute graphic tees, but the prints and color combos didn't really do it for me
-the lisa dress is a great comfy, casual dress; however, it looks like it will pill fairly quickly
    -lots of bangles on sale
-some cute printed tote bags (again, nothing i loved)
    -factory jackies (eg, lower quality)
    for about $34
-lots of shorts for $25--would have picked up some, but i dont wear shorts that often
    -lots of flipflops (printed)

    HTH! : )

  36. jcmama,

There was one pair of joley flats at the Beachwood, OH store, in size 7, or maybe they were 7.5 I can't remember. They were marked $49.99. I don't know what color but it might be worth a phone call! 216-292-8494

  37. Went to the Vacaville, CA factory store yesterday.

--They had a ton of stuff in the Fiji print from last year. I recall seeing minis, a very cute cotton sun dress, a featherweight cardi in the fiji print.

--Wonderful pink ellora-like printed cotton sundress and scarf

--Ruffle Pique polos for about 16.99

--Knit dresses in they style of the lisa from last summer but w/ thinner fabric at 40%off

--Sanur dresses in pink, brown and another color at 30% off

    --Lots of printed shorts, skirts

--Stocked sale section with extra 20% off

  38. Has anyone seen the painted floral tee IRL and have an opinion on it? Or has someone reviewed it on a blog? TIA.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The dressy jersey twist-strap dress was on sale for $49.99 at the Cambridge store (as opposed to FP online). However, the belted dress (which is what I was hoping to try) was still FP, not the $59.50 promo online.

  40. I have a couple questions abt phone orders
If i am not using a red phone, do I still get free shipping on full priced merchandise?
If I do a we will find it, do I get free shipping on full priced stuff?
    THanks

    ReplyDelete
  41. Julia-

I have the painted floral tee in white. It's quite pretty IRL. It was a bit sheer for my liking, so I wore a white cami underneath it when I work it to work on a casual day. It runs TTS and has survived a couple of washings so far. I can't offer an opinion about the weathered stone color, but I hope this helps you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sorry, that should be "when I wore it to work"

    ReplyDelete
  43. happy life - you won't get free shipping on full price items unless you order from a red phone. The last time I used the we will find it, I did get free shipping. But, that's been almost a year so I'm not sure if that policy has changed.

    ReplyDelete
  44. happy life - when you ask J.Crew to do a "we'll find it for you", then you get free standard shipping, as per policy. See "we'll find it for you" in the top left corner of their HELP page at this link.

    http://www.jcrew.com/AST/FootieNavigation/help.jsp

I've heard the policy is that they will only do the "find it" on full price items but occasionally have done the search for sale-price items according to others who have posted so on this blog. I don't know if shipping is free if the item is on sale but you can always ask. Even if you get the "one time courtesy" line, it's worth it for free shipping.

Sometimes I place a find it for full price items that are on backorder because I want the item now and don't want to take my chances that the backorder will be unfilfilled. It has worked every time, although I never check back to see when the backorders arrive but the item is shipped from a B&M.

I do love the "we'll find it" service. I have used it at least a dozen times and only once were they unable to find the item I wanted in the specific size/color combination. They did offer to priority ship me the item in a different color for free and I took them up on that offer.

    HTH

  45. Oh and Captain Crew, my cart is getting dumped daily now. I don't check the site every few hours, only once a day. I put stuff in, some of it full price. When I go back the next day, it's empty and I go back and put the stuff in again (still stock available).

I am starting to just create the bookmarks in folders as of today. Then if I do forget about something I'm watching, I will have the bookmark. It's a good way to stalk those must-haves too. ;-)

  46. @Math teacher - thank you
@xoxo That link was really helpful !
I placed an order with we will find it and got free shipping sometimes but sometimes the stores didnt honor it (all were full priced). Im write back to them asking for a shipping refund
    THanks alot

    ReplyDelete
  47. I went to the B&M today and found nothing interesting (even at the sale rack where I always found sth to buy). I just wish the Summer sweaters will go on sale (or may be another red card) and I will snag one (or may be three) up in a heart beat.

    ReplyDelete
  48. happy life - I went back to look at the page again and the line "Standard shipping's on us" has an asterisk and the note reads "full-price merchandise only". So since your items were FP, you should have no problem getting your shipping charges refunded.

Sometimes the policies, or at least the way they are applied, seem quite ambiguous with J.Crew but this looks pretty clear. ;-) Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  49. JC - the Soho store has no sale section because they were closed for remodeling and then opened again 3 weeks ago with only new merch.

  50. I was wondering what people thought about the toothpick ankle jeans. I just bought a pair but was still wondering. Also, I am doing a J.Crew giveaway on my blog.
