J.Crew Math {brilliant!}

Paper Bag Princess has a {great} blog called "pudding and the paper bag princess". Every so often she comes up with {fantastic} math equations featuring various J.Crew pieces.

The image used in the post is just one of many {brilliant} posts, the following are some more:
These posts really are great and bring out the LOLs. And in many cases "spot on" with the transfer of properties! ;) You rock Paper Bag Princess! :)

How much do you love these math equations!?! :) Do you have any of your own J.Crew Math equations?

  3. Speaking of math, the 99 inventory trick no longer works - the maximum quantity you can add to your cart (or change once you're in your cart) is 9.

  4. silver lining I had the same problem last night. Once items were in my cart though, I was able to adjust to 99. You can only do it on the cart page.

I swear J.Crew is out to make shopping with them as difficult as possible :P

  5. @Silver_lining, I just tried the 99 trick and it worked for me. There are only 34 black Marjories suede flats in size 10 left!

  6. PBP's math is hilarious!

The only thing I can come up with right now is the beaded etoile cardigan in papaya (15091) looks like it had a bunch of shaving nicks that needed to be covered in tiny pieces of toilet paper to stop the bleeding. :D

  7. Absolutely hilarious!

Something less hilarious--another poster noticed that the site was weird last night. Indeed, it seems they were making some changes:

I tried the "99" inventory trick on two items this morning. The quantity box will now only allow you to enter a single digit. It seems we may no longer be able to check stock to know whether we need to buy right away, or if we can wait for a better deal.

Further evidence JCrew reads the blogs--this trick has been the subject of several recent posts.

    Boo on you, JCrew :(

  8. Thanks previous posters--I was in a rush and wanted to post my discovery, then saw your posts. Looks like a solution has been found!

  9. I added 99 (but 88 items) came up for me just now in a dress I like. No issues.....

  10. I have really enjoyed seeing these on PBP's blog...hilarious, and DEAD-ON! :)

  12. hee hee hee. I am a person with too much time on my hands. (:

Tastymoog that's a good one!! ha ha, and I actually really like that sweater.

Can't wait for some more summer arrivals - new material for mockin'!

ohhh, boo indeed if the inventory trick doesn't work anymore. I did it just last night and it helped me avoid a impulse buy...

  13. I just checked the inventory using 99 and it worked just like old times. No problems here:) Yeah!

  14. What is this 99 inventory trick??

  15. happy life - to check how many are left of an item, enter 99 in the quantity box and add to your cart - that tells you how many are available. very helpful for your covetables and sale items.

And also - i'm a huge fan of PBP's math - love love love it!!

  16. Well, the 99 still isn't working for me, even when I try to make the change on my cart page. Too bad! Maybe it's my browser?

  17. Tastymoog, I have been trying to decide between the papaya Etoile cardi and the guava featherweight cardi and I think you may have just clinched it for me--won't be able to get that image out of my head!

  19. JCrew Math is great - a simple concept so brilliantly executed by PBP. My fav is the Tank inspired by ZZ Top, but they're ALL funny....and spookily accurate:)

  20. Corry, as of this morning, the quantity field has been limited to one character. This means you can only check the quantity up to 9. You can keep adding 9 to your shopping bag, it's just a pain in the butt.

PBP's math is hilarious! I hope she keeps going with it. :)

  21. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't read the previous posts carefully enough...the quantity change had already been noted on this post.

  22. I just checked again and I can still do 99 in the quantity box. I have no clue why people are reporting problems. Just glad I can still check inventory:)

  23. O/t: I received the Metallic pleated cotton strati tank. I sized down to a size 2 (I'm usually size 4) and it's too tight across the bust. If I had ordered the size 4 I'd be able to say it fits tts but can't confirm since I didn't order the size 4.

Summer: can you give me an item number of something where you can still check the quantity?

  24. J.Crew math is hilarious! So clever.

Inventory trick no longer works for me either.

  25. ok.. one more question..
why would anyone want more than 9 of the same item ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. IRL,
I was able to order very early this morning and able to add any item in large #'s to check inventory.

I was still able to check all day so far at varing intervals. I tried 4 times at least ......

Well, now I have just checked again and I can no longer add more than 9. I did keep adding in increments of 9 and it did max out at one point on a dress so it takes more effort but one can still check. Thank goodness.

  27. happy life,
Not to buy but to check inventory levels.

JCrew found out we are able to track inventory and know when to buy when items get low and/or wait.

I did check about 15 items while I could today with 99 still active so I know where I stand and can still monitor my favorites.

  28. @Summer
    Thats makes sense.
Too bad I didnt know the trick until they changed it to single digit :(
    Btw, I love PBP's math

  29. Re: Inventory check

My hypothesis is that too many people were publishing on their blogs and this blog about how to do the checks-to decide whether or not to wait for the sales. J.crew (Big Brother) decided this is bad for business and thus limited the ability to check over 9 items.

  30. Doesn't J Crew have better things to do than make sure people can't check stock? Why don't they focus on making nice clothes?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sorry if I messed it up for y'all. Next time I'll keep my big mouth shut.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I assume we can just call CS and ask what the inventory level is. Might have to be firm to get them to answer but I am hopeful.

  33. Following up with IRL, I got the strati cami from the SUMMER code and I think it fits TTS. It's a little shorter than some of their other camis and not as loose around the bottom but fits well around the chest and armpit area (at least for someone small chested like me!). I think it's really cute and will be a nice summer top that can be casual or dressed up.

The JC math is great! Love the atomic fireball necklace equation!
