J.Crew Email: A long awaited sale...

J.Crew sent an email this morning reminding us about their Spring Sale (click here). The subject of the email, "A long awaited sale...", makes me wonder if they are going to update the Sale section today with lots of goodies. Oh, I really hope so! I would love to see new sale items & items that are available for purchase after clicking on the item itself. :)

  1. Does anyone know if a private sale (20% off all items- not just sale) might be happening soon online? There was not one last month in April...I know there was one last May b/c I bought most all my spring/summer items then.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I think it already updated - really early this morning :( There wasn't much restocked. Maybe tomorrow?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Nothing new that I can see, but some prices are lower. I didn't get the email so I'm glad the blog is here. There is so much I wouldn't know about if it wasn't posted on this blog!

  4. I just got the email a few minutes ago:)

  5. i have a couple things in my cart but i can't justify buying anything without an additional percentage off.

  6. I can highly recommend the Belle Satchel(online only) if it pops up again in the sale section. I just received mine (pebble) from the last 20% off sale. It has a very upscale look and feel, the size is great.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Can anyone give me a head's up on the CASHMERE SHRUNKEN HOODIE? I'm tempted but want to know how it fits.

And thanks in advance. You guys are the best!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ah J.Crew why do you tempt and tease me so? I don't need anything, yet I'll look and possibly fall off the wagon. Not too much of a fall, I ordered with the 20% off the sale last week.

  9. Cancelled order again!!! I ordered the Cate shoes two weeks ago on their "Spring Sale" and got the dreaded email yesterday that they don't actually have the shoes that they sold me. I am FURIOUS!! This has happened to me repeatedly and I would have thought that by this time, J Crew would have worked this out!

When I called customer service to complain, I was given no explanation-- literally. I was told that they had no explanation as to why this happened to me, only that they weren't sending me the shoes. I pointed out that as a consumer, I have choices, and having had this happen to me numerous times with Crew, I was thinking about doing business with a company that was able to effectively manage these situations. "I am sorry to hear that, Maam."

  10. I think the site updated this morning , but only the jewelery section did..
Not sure if they will update again...
They usually only do it once a day

  11. My Belle satchel is coming today! I got the heather pink-- I hope it's pink and not too peachy!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jodi, how is the pebble color of the Belle satchel? It looks almost white online, is it? Or does it lean more toward gray or beige?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  13. OT, but has anyone had problems with their patent Juliet mid-heels, particularly the blanched almond color, becoming discolored? I bought mine in January, and in recent weeks each time I've pulled them out to wear them, I've noticed these patches of dark gray appearing underneath the surface. I though maybe it was a scuff or something, but soap and water hasn't done anything. I know I haven't walked in or near anything that might cause this stain, and they keep multiplying...ahhh! I called CS and they haven't had reports of this problem, and suggested I bring them in to the B&M. If anyone has any insight or tips to solve this problem, it would be grealy appreciated ;) Email me at love2shop4bags@yahoo.com. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  14. JCrewCC: Congratulations on your Belle Satchel! I was contemplating the pink before it sold out. If you have the chance, I would love to hear what it's like IRL in case it happens to *pop up* again. TIA! :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm with jcrew guy in Canada - why does J.Crew have to tempt me so? I've bought so much with the red card AND the 20% off already...and it looks like the Belle Satchel will be the one to stalk! ;) For those who are wondering, Laura In Real Life gave a review on her blog. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. TaraFabo: I have two of the Cashmere Shrunken Hoodies from last season and they a bit snug on the TTS side (I typically wear a size small or a 4 in tops/sweaters, and I got a small in the Cashmere Shrunken Hoodie as well). It's super soft - I'm wondering if maybe it shrunk (a bit more!) after getting it back from the dry cleaners (can that even happen?) I seem to remember it fitting less snugly before taking it in to be cleaned...

Jodi: I just got my 20% off order in the mail yesterday - I purchased the Belle Satchel in pebble as well! I'd actually ordered it and returned once before - couldn't justify the cost, but on sale...made it hard to resist! I wish I could've gotten the pink color as well but it was already gone by the time I looked.

ShuLvr: I think the color leans more toward white than gray or beige - maybe the slightest tiny yellowish tint to it (because of the glaze?) but don't take that as a bad thing. I really love it!

  17. Site updated !!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Looks like the organza pencil skirt was marked down and both the gladiola garland cami and chiffon ruffle blouse were majorly marked down.

    ReplyDelete
  19. FFM: I'll let you know for sure. I am still stalking the UPS lady at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  20. MaryMoo,

Thanks for the heads-up on the gladiola garland cami. The Cricket Cardigan is also marked down to $59.99, but only available in the blue right now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Does anyone own the Chiffon Ruffle Blouse they are on sale for 19.99 now.

    ReplyDelete
  22. saw a return in store on the chiffon blouse and it is mega sheer FYI

    ReplyDelete
  23. Does the garland cami run true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  24. If the printed garland cami is anything like the solid one, it runs very big. I normally wear a 8 in J Crew and I sized down to a 4 in the solid garland when I tried it on.

I'm going to try it. I have NO yellow in my closet and, for $30, it's worth a look.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Genny - I have the solid garland camis, and they run a couple sizes too big (like Nichi said). I just picked up the gladiola print in a size 4 (smallest they have), and I normally wear a 0 in sleeveless tops - since it's button front and has no sleeves, it should be really easy to tailor.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks RatsOnParade. I am glad to see I am not the only one who purchases the same bag in more than one color (Frankie, Peyton, Oslo, Uptown)! I do the same with shoes too.

I'm not usually a fan of white handbags, not sure why, but the Belle is definitely a gorgeous bag. The LauraInRealLife review says the pink is more dusty rose, which is not how it looks online or in the catalog.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks Julie and Nichi:)I will keep that in mind. I will size down from an 8 to a 6 (I just cannot see myself in a 4 but I don't mind things blousey:)

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Shulvr The Belle satchel is what I would call ecru, lite beige, not white. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dainty sparkle necklace is marked down.

I bought this in fresh mint, warning - it's not the same freshmint you see everywhere else. It's light green (read: lime colored) beads. I think the necklace is great though, so I exchanged for the black. It's not short enough that you can wrap it around twice though. But I think it looks cute, it is in fact "dainty" as in it's not too much of a statement but it's still sparkly.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Jodi: "Ecru"! Exactly! I couldn't think of the word - that describes it perfectly. I just tried out my new Belle with my Blanched Almond Juliets, and while the shoes are a bit darker than the bag, I think they work together fairly well.

@ShuLvr: Too funny! I have both shades of the Frankie and two versions of the Small Oslo as well (champagne and ash). Stick with what works, yeah? I love them all! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I need help!!!please...
I received heavy wool pique felicia coat and douple serge tuesday trench, both in Navy.
I can't keep them both(I already have so many coats. Which one should I keep? If anybody bought them last season please let me know. I appreciate it!

    ReplyDelete
  32. re: Belle - ecru sounds better for my wardrobe than white. I will be stalking Belle now...

    @RatsOnParade - so true! If I find something that works, I often will buy another. DH's only complaint is that the volume of choices exponentially increases the time it takes me to decide what to wear. :}

    ReplyDelete
  33. If anyone is considering the pique pavilion shift... it is obscenely low cut, like, I couldnt wear it in public or my whole bra would show. I mean, I guess it's designed to be worn over a swimsuit but still I wouldn't want the whole top of my swimsuit to show, either. And I am 5'10" for reference so I can only imagine how low it'd be on a shorter gal. And I even tried it in XS! Still did not work. Disappointing since they are $19.99 at the store.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mavian, I do not have Felicia, but have 2 Tuesday Trenches- one in Persimmon and one in Dk Charcoal- what a gorgeous coat! Quality is outstanding and design is timeless.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why would I buy a necklace on sale only to have shipping cost half again what I might save? I really wish they'd do more FS event or lower the limit to something reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anyone have a review on the Chiffon ruffle blouse? For $19.99 I'm SO tempted! How's the fit?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just bought 2 chiffon ruffle blouses 19.99 each. Any word on fit?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks, slastena. You are so nice.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow! I have to share my happiness about this item. I was able to snag this top, the
    Metallic linen tunic top
, on an update last week. I LOVE IT! It's from Summer 2008 and I'm sure I passed it up because of the fit on the model. It's a beautiful just right amount of shine and the fit is excellent. Does anyone else have it?

I was also able to get a pair of white cropped (to just below knees) Matchsticks which look fabulous. Yay, I love when the orders arrive as ordered! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Does anyone know if the cashmere Jackie fits like the cotton Jackie? I'd love to get one on the sale....

    ReplyDelete
  41. Figures... I've been waiting weeks for the Frenchie slicker to go on sale in either the gray or coral, and in my effort not to shop today (which I broke a moment ago) they sold out in size 2!

Sooooo... if you ordered one and are not sure about it, or don't like it once it arrives, please keep me in mind! darashapiro (at) gmail

    ReplyDelete
  42. mavian, I also have the double-serge Tuesday trench in navy and I love it. I considered the Felicia as well, but wasn't able to get it before it sold out. ITA with Slastena's comments on the Tuesday - quality is outstanding and design is timeless. It's a true classic in the trench style.

I would compare the two based on what I will wear most or give me the most enjoyment. Do you prefer belted coats? Do you want something longer or is a shorter coat what you need? Do you like to update your look regularly or build on classic pieces?

I have never seen the wool pique fabric but the double-serge is so awesome. Soft and very well done. I've worn my Tuesday for months and there is zero pilling to date. One of my favorite J.Crew pieces ever. Although the Felicia looks very nice too.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Kathleen - That is so frustrating! Which Cates were you looking for? I have a 7.5 patent pair that I'm going to return because they're too big, but if I have the shoes you want, I'd be more than happy to send them your way instead. :)

I've luckily never gotten a cancelled order before *knocks on wood* but I can imagine how frustrating that can be.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Just returned from my b&m, and they did a sale update last night. Mostly everything was the same and rather boring, but they had marked down the library cardigan to $20. I loved mine at $40, so I really love it at $20! :) So if you are thinking about ordering one (which I highly recommend), try your b&m first if you have one. Hope that helps someone! :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Genny - I think the sizing advice you've gotten is correct, and sizing down was a good move! I normally wear a P2, but I got a P0 in the printed garland top and it fits perfectly! :D Congrats on getting it for $29.99!

    ReplyDelete
  46. JcrewCC - The Cates are in stone. Oops, I probably should have mentioned that! :) I got them for $63.99 and am super bummed they don't fit!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I just bought off ebay the Gayle Trench in Navy. Did anyone buy it? Last time I read Love it or Leave it: Gayle Ruffle Trench no one had purchased it.

I wanted to buy the Frenchie slicker but it was taking to long to go on sale and today there it was on sale :(

Not sure how to wear the gayle trench if you gals have any ideas please let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Did anyone see a significant update this morning? I'm late in the game, and don't know if things sold out, or if there wasnt much of an update. Thanks! : )

    ReplyDelete
  49. I saw the chiffon ruffle blouse in stores as well. It is very flimsy and completely sheer. The chiffon looked extremely delicate. :(

    ReplyDelete
  50. Forgot one thing! Has anyone seen either the Merino microstripe V-neck cardigan (size small in beechwood) or the Metallic-linen strapless dress (any color, size 2) in any of the NYC stores? I have to do a return this evening of some sale items I just received that I'm not in love with and would so much rather try on these items at the B&M than pay S/H all over again.

FYI the items I'm returning are the Silk double cami in champagne in size 2 and the Merino crosshatch cardigan in dusty rose in small if any of you are interested (both are still available online, but if a fellow JCA is looking for them I would be happy to send them for actual shipping costs vs J.Crew's outrageous s/h rates). I don't know, these just make me look dowdy... I was not impressed and will hopefully trade up at my B&M tonight.

  51. Good afternoon, everyone. Former "anon" here! Doesn't sound like anyone is really getting anything on sale . . . me neither. I'm waiting for further markdowns. Let's hope for some soon, and also for some great new arrivals.

  52. Hello JCA's -- for those who love the ROSETTE TEE, I was at the Atlanta Lenox store yesterday and they were putting out a shipment of new ones in pewter/light grey with rosettes in a slightly darker grey. Gorgeous! So if you missed out on the first ones in shell & natural, check these out. I actually like the light grey better than the white or shell, somehow it gives a very feminine tee a bit more of an edge plus transitions more readily into fall/winter.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oooh! I want a pewter one. Is there a white rosette tee out there or is everyone referring to the natural as white? Just wondering...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Here's a mini review on the Cotton-silk ruffle swirl tank that some of us went ga-ga for when it made a stealth appearance in the April catalog:

Big disappointment. First off, the shell color is much too close to my skin tone and washes me out. But the dealbreaker is the zipper placement on the side of the tank. I understand the need for the zipper, but had it been placed on the back rather than side, it would not have that very unattractive side bulge that gives one side-saddlebags when the tank is worn tucked in.

I bought the croquet cardi in melon/pink to go with the above tank in shell, but I ended up returning that too as the fit was too boxy to my liking. The color blocking on the shoulder emphasized my already-broad shoulders.

On the good side, the bengal stripe Frankie shorts in bronzed twig are adorable! Nice thin fabric but not see-through, perfect for humid summers in the South.

    ReplyDelete
  55. toast,
Thanks for the confirmation. I live overseas and returning is not much of an option...

    ReplyDelete
  56. There was a small update today...not much of one...

    ReplyDelete
  57. GoldCoastGal-
There is a white rosette tee. I beleive it was only available at the B&Ms. Ema reviewed the white and shell colors on her blog a few weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  58. There was a white version that arrived in stores about a week ago, but the Atlanta store sold out within a matter of days. The pewter arrived yesterday and the SA said they were selling like hotcakes too.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks Emily. I'm going to try find it.

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Cheryl: Thanks so much for the update re: rosette tee in pewter! I picked up the white one one my last B&M trip - I'd LOVE to have the gray one too! Guess I'll definitely have to schedule another B&M trip for the weekend. I've got many many returns to do anyhow - won't be that much of a stretch. :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's great to see so many comments in this post! :)

I won't lie, this morning I waited for the sale update and didn't really notice one. Ah well. Maybe one tomorrow. ;)

Dara: The Frenchie Slicker is quite nice for the current price. I bought one in khaki for $75 and love it. Unless you have tried it on in a store and know your size, you may want to consider a size 0. I am normally a size 2 in J.Crew Jackets, although these few past seasons I feel like size 0 works better. The body of the Frenchie Slicker is boxy so a size 0 works nicely. The shoulders worked out well too. So if the Frenchie Slicker comes back to the Sale Page in a size 0 and not 2, you may want to try it. :)

  62. Just called the Easton Town Center location (614-428-5990) and they have the pewter rosette tee! (I've got it on hold till I can go get it - hooray!)

In other news - to repeat what someone else mentioned (sorry I can't remember who) - the new arrivals at the Easton B&M are supposed to be out by the time they open Friday morning. The SA made it sound like they'd still be in the process of putting things on the floor throughout the day, but that's good news! I can't wait to see what's new. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Himmiefan, I think the cashmere Jackies are much looser than the cotton blend version. Basically they're just both hip length crewneck cardigans, and that seems to be all they have in common besides the moniker. cotton blend is 3/4 sleeve vs. the full length on the cashmere. The cashmere is looser in both sleeve and body than the cotton, but both fit TTS in their own way, like the way the shoulders fit and length. Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Not looking foward to anything....everytime they do this it's blah colors and crappy designs and material.

Bring back fall 2006, where everything was made decent.

Instead now it looks like a dressy Gap/Old Navy. I hope employees read this blog and report to upper managment so changes may come soon

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hey, Alexis! Good to see you on here : )

    We appreciate your efforts!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks RatsOnParade.

I just called Easton and had them hold one for me until tomorrow. They said they only had about 5 of them left. I'll make a trip there when they open to try it on.

    ReplyDelete
  67. so excited to hear, on this blog, that a new gray colored rosette tee might be coming....?? I love my white rosette tee!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I got the chiffon trim tees (in XS) today (ordered 3 colors) and found they run big (XS =M in other tees), so I made a trip to return at B&M. Then, it seemed that the student/educator discount policy is already applied to the store. The SA said it's new policy and every store have to follow it. So, after I returned my items, I just went straight back home. Shopping at Jcrew isn't fun anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Meeju: I'd ordered the chiffon trim tee myself and yeah, it looks REALLY big on the hanger. It actually fit kinda sorta okay when I tried it on - but it hasn't made it into regular rotation yet (still on the fence about it).

Oh, and hi @Alexis! Glad to see you here as well!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Has anyone else seen the library cardi for $19.99???

    ReplyDelete
  71. xoxo,
thank you for taking your time to write the kind advice. I really like the double serge, I liked it better on Maggie pink jacket(shouldn't have returned it) I'll keep the trench, the fabric might last long enough to hand down to my crewcuts-wearing daughter(7)I already have so many coats, but it sounds like Felicia was popular too.

    ReplyDelete
  72. And I'm a former anon. I got a google id to post just on this blog. I really appreciate kind JCAs answering my questions.

    ReplyDelete
  73. FYI - just called my local store and the library cardis ARE 19.99 if you are interested.

As if I need more cardigans but I can't resist *sigh*. Love things that are cute for work and casual settings.

    ReplyDelete
  74. mavian you never know, you might have an opportunity get your Maggie back. I missed the boat and then one came up on FS in my size in camel, the color I wanted. I was hesitant, thinking it might be a worn/defective return but it came NWT and was perfect.

The double-serge fabric of the Tuesday trench and the pencil skirts is what made me want the Maggie. I usually prefer jackets to be more fitted at the waist but considering the quality fabric and construction, even if I wear Maggie only a few times a year, it will last for several years so I'll get my money's worth. It was reduced to $79 and EXTRA20 off of that. Smokin deal! I couldn't believe when it shipped. :-D

Hope the advice helps. I usually go through all the practical steps to decide and then imagine I have to choose right this minute and what choice would I make, which is usually the more emotional choice. It doesn't always help me in the end, but it is fun to torture myself anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yay I got my pewter rosette tee too! haven;'t seen it but I am sure I will LOVE it once I get it off hold tomorrow! Thanks to whoever blew the whistle on this tee. The shops at columbus circle has them also....thats in NY, NY.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I love the library cardi and ordered a second one in the other color on the last promo. I can't believe the price on these sweaters, they are really great. Definitely can dress up or down and the neutrals can work with a lot of other things.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Did anyone notice any library cardi's in XS????

    ReplyDelete
  78. Alexis
I am so glad to see you updating the blog and your comments. Thank you so much for your efforts!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think it's great that J.Crew is continuing to produce the rosette tee, even if it's in different colors. It helps to thwart the ebay resellers who ask insane prices for highly coveted items like this tee. Of course, they can't do it with every item that sells out, but at least they are doing it with the rosette tees, which are theoretically, affordable to almost everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  80. No JC for me I spent all my monies on beads and shoes. The grey rosette tees sounds very interesting though!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm interested in the gray Rosette Tee too. I really like the colors Pewter and Dark Slate. Let the stampede begin!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Love the Belle satchel. The color is a really creamy white. Not too shiny either. Only dislike is the lining. It looks and feels cheap. It's a light khaki colored twill, just doesn't go with the style bag. Any other color lining would have been improvedment. Very classic and goes with everything. If it reappears I would go for it!

    ReplyDelete
  83. EEk. I'd love a library shawl cardi but they're sold out in xs in my local stores...

did anyone see on in their stores? perhaps i can order by mail or something?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Can someone comment on the colors of the croquet cardigan IRL? The lavender doesn't look to have a lot of contrast online, but does look to have more contrast in the catalog. The melon looks more subdued in the catalog, but brighter online. Also, how is the feel/thickness? It's thicker than featherweight, right? TIA

The library shawl cardi was available in XS at the update this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anthropogie is offering free-shipping to people with their member cards. The offer will be valid for months ...

    What is jcrew offering?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Contemplating ordering the double cloth Marie (bright berry)even though my BFF has it in the same color...who cares anyway? Can someone offer any insight? I watched it since it was full price and at 79.99 with a rewards also, you can't beat that with bat! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  87. i am also interested in this pewter rosette tee. boring i know, but i love the color pewter. if someone buys one and wants to share a link to an IRL pic, i'm sure a few of us would love to see it!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anon, how do you get the FS at Anthro? As much as I love their stuff, I balk at always paying the shipping. That said, they have recently stepped up their game in a major way as far as shipping times go. It used to take a week to a week and two days to get a package sent from SC to MI, now the last three times I ordered turnaround was three to four days! I was so (pleasantly) surprised when that happened, especially because that was my first purchase from them after a bad-CS-inflicted Anthro shopping ban. If they really are offering FS, too, I'd be very happy with them!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Tina I have the double-cloth Marie coat in the deep royal/majestic purple or whatever the blue was called. I found the coat to run large, which was perfect for me because I wore it over my suit jackets. It's a very easy fit and the raglan sleeves shouldn't make sizing down too tight in the shoulders, if you want a closer fit.

The fabric is nice, the color vibrant. Minimal tailoring, which lets you layer it on underneath. No inside pocket and the collar seems designed to be up but no problem for me keeping it down when I want. The length is good for those blustery days and although there is no interlining, the coat is quite warm. I would buy it again.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I did not see much in the sale that caught my interest today, so I am going to wait for the new arrivals in June, which, given the collection pieces, look very promising.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thank you CheesyGoodness! Sounds like I'm going to have to go down a size in the cashmere Jackie. I'm so darned small-boned that anything too big looks ridiculous.

Now, my mini review of my recent purchases:

Silk and linen v-neck sweater - great! I'm a 6 on top, and the small fits well.

Cotton cashmere cardigan - I think someone else mentioned this. It has a really nice fit - much better than the featherweight cashmere, which looked like a sack on me.

Cashmere bauble-button henley - I. Love. This. It fits really nicely - not too clingy, not too loose, and not too long! The glass buttons came individually wrapped in tissue paper. I'm going to have to get another color.

    ReplyDelete
  92. does anyone know the answer to Genny's (1st post) question about private sale?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Aaand...I fell off the wagon.

Bought the Silk Gladiola Print Garland Cami. :p

Hey, Alexis! *waves to Alexis* So happy to see you!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. To CheesyGoodness,

Have you joined anthropologie membership card (yellow card)? The free shipping (no minimum I think) is automatic if you shopping online. The offer started today and will end in September.

    ReplyDelete
  95. hello all,

I am placing my summer order this week (husband going to New Jersey on business) I need some sizing advice. I want the double serge cotton pencil skirts, as I am in love with my winter versions. I wear a size 6 are they TTS? I thought I read somewhere that they run big.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Anon, I have set up an Anthro account twice, actually! I did it once online, and on a trip to the closest store I forgot and did it again. Thanks for the info!

    ReplyDelete
  97. OK, just got off the phone with Anthro CS. Free ship with the Anthro card (it's free to sign up) on phone orders until SEPTEMBER7!!! Dang good news to start a dreary looking day!

  98. Tina: If you like the coat you should totally get it. :) Bright berry is a bright color in person- but it is super pretty. Incidentally, there was a review of the coat itself awhile back you might be interested in: "Product Review: Double-Cloth Marie Coat " :)

Himmiefan: Thanks for your review of the Cashmere bauble-button henley. :)

Genny & Caliglam: I am not sure when the next private sale will happen. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Drewablank: Waving a "big hello!" right back at you! :)

  102. CheesyGoodness, Wonderful news isn't it? Among several brands I shop often, I like anthropologie's CS the most.

  103. Sale section updated! I didn't find anything new or lower prices, though. Oh well, I suppose I can concentrate now and go back to studying! ; )

  104. Any thoughts on the contrast silk tunic? Is TTS or does it run big? I usually size down for camis but wear regular size in shirts.

  105. Update...

I bought the pewter rosette. I didn't like it in the other colors, but I LOVE the contrast on this one.

    Thanks all!

  106. I have to be the only one ANGRY about getting a lavender Jackie.

I was able to snag a regal purple Jackie in the sale last week and, including shipping it cost me $40. I thought it was reasonable and it was the EXACT color I wanted.

I got the package today and when I opened it, I knew something was not quite right. They sent me a Jackie, but it is the lavendar from Spring 09 that you all have been raving about.

It is really pretty and a good deal at $40, but I don't need it. I didn't buy that color because I'm not drawn to pastels.

This is the first time J. Crew has messed up one of my orders. Now my bright blue island tee will have to wait to find a friend. :(

  107. Nichi: I am sorry to hear that your order got mixed up. I hate when that happens. :(

  108. Kendra: Thanks for the nice words (referring to your 4:45 PM comment). It means a lot to me. :)

  109. loves2shop: I have those patent shoes in blanched almond (got them in September) and they're my favorite shoes. I haven't had the problem you're experiencing, but I did spill some curry on the toe of one and it did stain it pretty quickly. I would definitely take your shoes back for them to look at. Sounds like a defect.

  110. A review of my recent acquisitions...

Belinda spectator pumps in orange -- fabulous! Compliments every time I wear them. They fit a bit small, I'm usually a 7 or 7.5 but take an 8 in these. (On sale $129)

Cotton cashmere bouquet cardigan in light pewter -- fits like the Jackie cardie, and so soft! Love it.

I just ordered the Joley patent leather peep-toes in soft seashell, I think they'll go with everything this summer.

Not on sale, but also ordered the Tuxedo-front cotton cami (even though it seems overpriced!) but it is so cute. And the Double serge cotton pencil skirt -- has anyone tried this? Is it like their other pencil skirts in terms of fit?

And has anyone got the Saturday trousers? I was intrigued but I have bad luck with JCrew pant sizes, I seem to be in-between a 4 and 6.
