J.Crew Website: "Be Back Soon" For You Too?

I just tried going to J.Crew's website in Foxfire and found this image popping up. I then opened up the site in Internet Explorer- I was able to get the main page just fine, but when I clicked on the "sale" link, this image popped up as well. :(

Is anyone else experiencing problems accessing J.Crew's website?

Update: The website seems to be working fine for me now (6PM) in Firefox (but not in IE). More importantly, the site seems to work find for others- so chances are the site is working fine for you too. :)

  2. Thanks Jeff T & Casual Crew for letting me know that it is working for you. Maybe the J.Crew site just doesn't work for me. :(

  3. I noticed that the metallic giraffe day coat is on sale, but where is the adorable yellow version they had on the models for awhile? I'm not into animal prints but thought the coat was cute in a solid. :) Does anyone know if they have plans to release one?

  4. I haven't had any problems today. :)

OT - my jackie and crewcuts dress arrived today, free to purchaser. :) And, my floral belle skirt shipped today as well. I can't wait for it to arrive. :P

  6. It's working fine for me on both IE and Firefox--must've hit a momentary glitch, Alexis!

BTW, I was in the b&m by my school today, and final sale items are still 20% off, so I'm going to assume that most stores are continuing the same offer.

  9. Yes, i had issues yesterday no matter the browser.
Couldn't place an order, didn't recognize the EXTRA 20 discount for final sale items, couldn't log in to "MY ACCOUNT", kept getting m "Unable to process your request right now messages."

This is utterly ridiculous. On top of that, it occured to me I s hould have split my order. One for the EXTRA 2o items, and another for the reg. price to get the free shipping offer. I wrote to ask them to change it....we'll see.

  10. Website was fine on the 1st try for me. Looking forward to receiving an order I placed last week.

OT -- I went to b&M on Sat and saw the cutest t-shirt with rows of sequins on it. I didn't get the style number because I was getting lectured by my mom. I don't recall it from the dreary catalog, so maybe it's in there. It was $59. Navy & gray horizontal stripes w/rows of navy sequins on the blue stripes. It was so cute on.

  11. Ugh! I was so excited Saturday that I scored a suiting jacket and pants for FS online. The website would not take my order so I had to phone it in. I still have not received an email confirmation. Anyway, checked its status online and the jacket has been cancelled. I called CS and said I would not have ordered the pants (and express shipping) if I knew the jacket wasn't available. He said the website has had difficulties but that they should all be worked out this week. He did waive the shipping costs, but now I have to return what's left of the order to a b&M. I am hoping they find a jacket in my size on the way to packaging. I told him I am done ordering online.

  12. gigiofca: I know the tee you're talking about. My sister tried it on and while she liked it, it was a little baggy around the midrift. She's not got a huge chest, but there's no way she could have sized down. However, I'm sure if they still have it when it gets marked down that she'll buy it.

  13. It's working for me, enough that I managed to add more items to my shopping cart.

I had a bad Gap pants day. I should have known that even if I thought they fit okay at the store, after a few hours they stretched out in the butt and didn't fit great. And knowing Gap they shrink up in odd ways. I'm officially swearing off the Gap. At least with the J.Crew pants they fit well and don't have these weird shrinking issues the Gap ones do.

What do you think of the ones in the picture next to my post. I think they will be a good antidote to me evil gap pants.

  14. Casual Crew: Congrats on your error free order & delivery!!! :)

Anon at 6:38 PM: That is awful how many issues you ran into with the website yesterday. Hopefully J.Crew will respond quickly to your email (which they are pretty good at). :)

Isadore: I am sorry to hear that the jacket got canceled and now you have to return the pants. (Which totally makes sense since the suit pants are only good if there is a suit jacket to match.)

JCrew Guy In Canada: You are too funny- being able to manage more items to your shopping card! ;) On the Gap pants note, I thought Gap pants for men were really good quality. I am surprised to hear that they are known to stretch out in weird ways too. I will definitely have to keep that in mind (considering I just bought a pair of Gap khakis for my husband). P.S. Love the new pants icon by your name! ;)

  15. Ok, this is weird. I've tried to access the "Knits & tees" and "Pants" sections in the Final Sale section, and the website keeps spewing out all kinds of items, from the Men's section and crewcuts! =S

  16. I just checked all the other sections, and it's doing the same thing! They're showing all kinds of stuff except what you want shown (Knits & tees in "Knits & tees", pants in "Pants", etc.). Hmmmm....

  17. Ok, these sections are working properly: Accessories, Bags, Denim, Jewelry, Lounge & Beach cover-ups, Outerwear, Skirts, Suiting and Yoga. All the others are going a little cuckoo.

  18. The website loads fine for me, but I no longer can log into my account: my email is not recognized. Anyone else has the same problems? I know some people lost their previous accounts, but this is 3 months post-update, there should not be any major changes going on right now.

  19. To everyone: Just sit tight. Trying to log on again & again won't help you one bit. Lol, just wait it out. In fact, your persistence might actually create more problems for you in the near feature.

  20. Alexis: I was happy with Gap pants in the past, but twice in the past year the pants I bought have shrink in crazy amounts and ways. I'm getting a new treadmill tomorrow, but that doesn't mean I'm magically in better condition and shape, so it must be the pants and not me.

And hey we all know J.Crew trumps Gap. Period, so guess what this means, more J.Crew for me.

  21. Tried to order crewcuts off of sale section--didn't work friday nite thru saturday nite & I finally gave up.

  22. working fine for me earlier in the morning. But in the afternoon, when I click on sections, e.g. shirts, skirts, etc. The display items were totally mess up. There were kids' and men's items displayed in the women's page.

I've place over 5 orders online in the last 2 weeks, every single order has some items canceled for inventory reason :(

  23. WOW!! My Gap pants (I was wearing today for the first time today at work) split right down the seam on the left side near my butt!! I thought to myself...see that's why I should stick with J. Crew...LOL!!

  24. i ordered last week (prior to the extra 20 sale) and half my order was cancelled. I emailed them my disappointment and asked if I could have the rest of the order cancelled so I could reorder a bigger (complete) order and customer service said yes, and also said they would waive my shipping fees for the inconvenience. Then on the 6th I got an email saying my 1st order was sent out!!! I had ordered the item, 2x in my second order (staple skirts) along with 3 other items so I called and emailed Jcrew in fury...(asking if it'd be possible to return order #1 since order #2 had the same item, etc.) Yesterday I got an email saying that my credit card would be credited the amount for order #1...and that when I received order #1 in the mail---to just keep it for all the mistakes they made! I have yet to receive it, and will have to check my cc statements to see how it all goes through but I'm impressed---and hopeful (though at the same time I just wish the orders would be processed with more speed and accuracy.

  25. Well now the sale section is a jumble of men's women's and children's wear! I click on "knits and tees" and get men's clothing, men's hats, boys t shirts, bikinis etc. I click on "dresses" and get bikinis, men's pants etc etc. Complete insanity!

  26. I don't even look at the sale section anymore after I used to check it daily. It is not worth the time and effort and likely hood of not getting the sale items.

I ordered the Simone peacoat and it came just fine. I also just ordered the Astrid in plum. Hopefully, it will come fine too. After than I am done with my shopping from JCrew.

Just stay away from the awful sale section and you will be fine. Choose a few new fall pieces instead of a ton of sale stuff. That is my recommendation.
