Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time again! :)

J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $100+ with promo code PENCILS. This offer expires 9/11/08.

  1. It's interesting - I don't have jcrew.com in my favorites (I have no idea WHY) so I always Google it to get to the main page. Now the Google results for jcrew.com say "Look good without even trying". Interesting! I'd say that's about partially true, because there's a lot of "trying" that Aficionadas/os have to do to physically get their hands on the items! :)

  2. Thank you for this!

I was wondering if you could do a post on j.crew driving mocs (shoes). I am contemplating whether or not to buy a pair. I am not someone who has good feet for their traditional flats, but their driving mocs are comfortable when I try them on. What do people wear them with? Pants, or more - skirts, shorts? Also, any tips on how they wear? I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks, Alexis!

  3. Now if only we could get free shipping and the extra 20% off like we could in the good old days....

  4. I ordered from Jcrew 2 skirts, and after 1.5 I finally got an email about it. Then I got a note saying that only 1 skirt was in stock (expected...). So I emailed customer service about how disappointed I was (and also because I like to order from Jcrew in bulk, since I do have to pay shipping or hit the free shipping mark with 150+. They offered me free shipping on my next order so I asked them to cancel the order completely so I could reorder. The good thing was, the extra20 came the next day! So, now I get to save even more, hopefully get the freeshipping they offered me (not a code--they just told me to reply with the order number the email where they said I could get free shipping). I'm also going to use my educators discount...I just don't know when they'll fully cancel my order and refund the credit card they charged. A mild but not bitter experience with Jcrew's new system. I really love your blog, and have been following it through the whole website upgrade fiasco, but this is the first time I've posted. I sincerely wish they'd combine free shipping with %'s offs. Does anyone have a review of the Silk taffeta pop-on mini?

  6. I've just recently found this blog and have been addicted to jcrew for some time! Can someone answer this question for me? Is there a JC store in either Chicago or NYC that is considered flagship that carries ALL or most of their line - including Collection?

  7. How do camel University pants fit around the hips? Do they make you look hippier? (I'm a size 6). How does the Ecole jacket fit on a somewhat busty woman (size 8 top)?
    Love your blog!

  8. I got so used to the 40% off everything on sale that an extra 15% off or an extra 20% sounds pretty measly to me.

From Honolulu: yes, they have now gotten much stricter and they will not offer you the extra 20% AND your educators discount. Its really the pits.

Silverlining: I don't have jcrew in my favorites either... I have the site memorized. Ooops. But thats interesting about the google searches

Anon: no one really likes the fit of the ecole very much. I am either a 4 or 6 on top but a 32DD and I have to say, the ecole fit like crap.

  9. Thanks for this coupon code. Now, I am trying to decide whether I should use the free shipping code or the 20% off discount code. I have to calculate where I am saving more.

  10. Thanks Blumre for your comment about the Ecole jacket. I was afraid of that..how about the university pants?

  11. Heather: I know- I hate having to decide between the 20% off code or the free shipping code! It's too bad that the 20% off is no longer automatic (like it use to be in the good 'ol days). ;)

  12. I'm sitting on a code for retail products before I make my next purchase. Come on Alexis, pull some strings.

  13. No longer making the extra 20% or 30% off automatic is just ridiculous, as is considering the student/educator discount a coupon that cannot be combined with Free Shipping or the extra % off. Not to mention that most of the prices on items get higher when the extra % is added, so it's really not saving any money at all.

Seems as if there should be one more Back To School Crewcuts code after this since the contest doesn't end until the 15th...fingers crossed. :)

  14. Geoff: I would love to if I could. ;)

FFM: I agree with you that the 20% off sale doesn't seem too "wonderful" now that it is a separate code (to apply the 20% off) and when prices in the sale section go up during the 20% off sale. :(
