Crewcuts Arriving At Some J.Crew Factory Stores

I found the following paragraph in this article interesting (for the article in its entirety, click here):

CoStar's Retail News Roundup: July 6 to 12, 2008
by Sasha M Pardy

J. Crew revealed its plans for its youngest concepts. For Crewcuts, its kids division, the retailer plans to open one new stand-alone store and 10 shop-in-shops at factory outlets this fall. That would bring the concept to five stand-alone stores and 47 shop-in-shops.

Are you excited that Crewcuts will be arriving at J.Crew's Factory Stores? Do you think you will purchase more J.Crew Crewcuts at the Factory Store than the regular Crewcuts stores? How much do you want Crewcuts to be available in women sizes? ;)

  1. I have small feet and can sometimes fit into the biggest size children's shoes available. I was totally trying to see if I could for Crewcuts, because some of their shoes are SO CUTE, but can't. :) Some of the girl's fashions are so cute, I really do wish they'd carry them over.

  2. Funny question. -) I was looking at a couple of the crewcuts items and wondering if I could fit them. *lol*

I doubt I would buy crewcuts for my nieces or nephews because they are rough on their clothes. But if it were an outlet item -- I might be inclined to do so.

  3. ha, I wish I could fit into crewcuts. That would be awesome. I was looking at this skirt not too long ago and was like wow! I really like this...and then I realized that it was crewcuts. It was such a shame. I would've bought it if it were for women! lol

  4. I would be happy to see Crewcuts come to my Factory Store...I might consider buying more pieces for my boys if the prices were better. Right now I feel the clothes don't warrant the price tag, as they are so rough on them...not to mention they grow out of them in a month or two. Crewcuts online is a big investment to make on clothing that will only last a short amount of time, so if the prices are lower at the Factory, but the quality is still there, I will definitely buy. :)

  6. I agree, I have two kids 2yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. I LOVE crewcuts but just cannot pay that for kids clothes. Even on sale they are still a lot. I buy 75% gymboree, 20% gap and 10% target. Outlet would be nice but like others says quality has to be there. Gymboree has an outlet and I really don't buy because I don't like the quality. Gap outlet for kids is great. I still see the quality there.

  7. I think I would be inclined to buy more Crewcuts items if my son could try them on first (of course that means corralling a four-year-old into a dressing room long enough to do that). I usually order things on sale for him because as FFM said, he grows too much and is too hard on his clothes.

I really do wish they'd make some of the kids stuff in adult sizes. Their little pop-on skirts (which I love the ones I got last fall), sweaters, and cute tops make me jealous.

  8. I LOVE the crewcuts clothes for my niece. I do wait for sale or promotion, though. The manager at my b&m said they have a hard time keeping things in stock, so a crewcuts only b&m would be fantastic here. I think my sister would go crazy! As for the boys' items, they pretty much look like boys' items anywhere. So, I buy if on sale at a good price, but I don't follow an item like I would the girls' items.

I agree that I wish some of the girls' items were also made for women. I can fit into some girls' tops from ON and Talbots, but not here.

  9. I would die and go to heaven if I could find crewcuts in a JCrew factory store. Now I have to find where a factory store is in NY.

  10. My kids are still really young, so my strategy is to buy the Crewcuts pieces when they are really cheap, and then store them until the kids fit into them. The clothes really are adorable, and yes, there are some pieces that I'm envious about not being able to wear.

  11. In the new catalog there is a $140 cashmere crewcuts sweater for girls. Who would spend that much money on a sweater for a kindergartener? They would probably get art supplies and food all over it, not to mention grow out of it quickly. If I ever have kids they are getting old navy until they finish high school!!!

  12. Went to the Westbrook (CT) Tanger Outlet a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to find Crewcuts installed there. They had a nice selection of things for the Outlet line there (2 diamonds on the label). I bought my 3 year old daughter a couple "slub-cotton" tees (what is slub cotton anyways??) with cute French sayings on it. But a lot of the merch was still quite overpriced (even with my 15% educators discount), and I would wait for final sale.
