That was then...these days I seem to place an order...find out it was cancelled with no explanation...wait on hold for endless amounts of time (to be accidentally cut off on numerous times while still waiting to speak with someone) not getting answers..the works. The latest?? Placed an order for a bag and flip flops a week ago..first they lose the order..then tell me this morning it will ship today...that was incorrect because I received it tonight...you know what NO FLIPFLOPS at all and the bag is TOTALLY WRONG! Both are now sold out on the website and I've been holding for over 40 minutes waiting to speak to someone when I was told it would be 8. The cake topper...I was FULLY CHARGED for this order...how dare they have the audacity to write final sale. Well forget you J.Crew..there are other shops in the sea!!!!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14494448457449130577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-71345063765806588982008-06-24T08:36:00.000-04:002008-06-24T08:36:00.000-04:00Chini: I agree that BORN tends to be more on the c...Chini: I agree that BORN tends to be more on the casual side, and fortunately for me...my lifestyle is casual for the most part (stay at home mom to 4 boys), but when I do need a dressier heel, I have a closet full of them, already...YAY!!! :)

About the suit...I would say to return it if you are really that unhappy with it, or at least talk to a Customer Service SUPERVISOR and explain your situation. Making wool suits that are unlined really seems to be a "defect" in itself. Anyways, my point is...you never know unless you try...all they can really do is say "no", and then you are back to where you are now...but if they say "yes" and refund your money...you will be glad you did. BTW...you can also ship items back to them via USPS, and it is usually alot less expensive, too. :)Melissa@AllThingsSimplifiedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06076948687302539385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-12757504152975049952008-06-24T04:23:00.000-04:002008-06-24T04:23:00.000-04:00I want to like Cole Haan. I really, really do. I...I want to like Cole Haan. I really, really do. I found the cutest pink and purple ballet flats there. They went back to the store because I couldn't even hobble around my apartment with my feet dying. I also found a cute pair of mules. I kept them, but I never wear them because they hurt my feet. Granted, neither of these were Nike Air technology, but to be honest, none of those I've tried on in store seemed all that comfortable. And I'm a believer in the philosophy that if it isn't comfortable in the store, it's not going to get more comfortable on the street.

I am a huge fan of Born and Indigo by Clarks for comfortable shoes, but they rarely have styles that are truly dressy. Unfortunately, Cole Haan isn't comfortable enough to me to make the price ($200-$300) worth it.

Off topic, but after I posted this rant on an older post, I realized more people might see it if I also posted it on the latest post. :-)

BEGIN RANT

I "just asked" customer service if I could be exempt from the $7.50 return fee. My reasoning for the request:

1. I bought multiple sizes of a suit because J. Crew does not carry petites in stores, and I did not know which size would best fit me in this particular style.

2. I do not live near a store. Not only does this mean I cannot try before I buy, I also cannot return items to a store. (During my last vacation, I visited several J. Crew stores to try on every single thing I possibly could be interested in so that I could order online with confidence. This is why my no-petites-in-stores reason is still valid even though I don't actually live near one.)

3. I paid full price for the items I bought.

The answer, of course, was no. I knew when I bought several sizes of the same item, I'd have to factor in the extra shipping and return charges, but it's still frustrating that they don't seem interested in waiving what ultimately is a very small dollar matter. I think J. Crew is being penny-wise but pound foolish.

Someone tell me why, given the reasons above, I should continue to shop at J. Crew when there are plenty of companies that offer good (better?) quality suits for *under* $400, with free shipping to boot.

I'm also mad because I don't even like the suit in the size I'm keeping. But since I've already worn it, I don't feel like I can return it. It is the itchy, unlined wool I mentioned in a previous post. I was going to take it to a tailor to have a lining sewn in, but why should I have to do that on an item that wasn't exactly inexpensive to begin with?

Part of me is tempted to return the worn one and throw a fit if they won't give me a refund. I want to make it clear that because they were so intent on keeping that $7.50 of my refund, they are losing the sale of a suit that I otherwise would have kept. Penny-wise, pound foolish.

END RANTAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-9546187236223905902008-06-23T23:13:00.000-04:002008-06-23T23:13:00.000-04:00Anonymous at 10:40 PM & ccbmum: Would you believe ...Anonymous at 10:40 PM & ccbmum: Would you believe that I was already at the Cole Haan website looking at those shoes!?! I got the Lana polka dot top in light pewter today, and I was quite dissapointed. The material was not as soft or silky as I expected it to be, and it was cut so large that it really looked like a sack on me. Normally I would just get it taken in, but I was disappointed with the material, so back to J.Crew it goes! On a happier note, I also recieved the Matchstick jeans today, which are fabulous, and I can't wait to start wearing them after I get them hemmed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-83453758480771144002008-06-23T21:24:00.000-04:002008-06-23T21:24:00.000-04:00ccbmum: I would love to get a pair of their sandal...ccbmum: I would love to get a pair of their sandals!
