For example, I found J.Crew Japan sells $60 shorts at almost $90-100 equivalent amount in yen. Josie dress and fontana dress ($140) were sold around at about $200, if I remember well. J.Crew $250 silk dress was sold over $500 in Tokyo. J.Crew Japan is a joint venture and they have to pay for shippings, import customes, salary and high rent expenses, etc. Also, J.Crew needs to hedge exchange rates. Those are reflected in prices. I think J.Crew price in Japan is expensive for this level of quality, but I can understand somehow that J.Crew has to charge extra expenses on retail prices. However, everytime I find Ebay sellers who charge more than original prices, I claim them to Ebay for unreasonable prices.
