However, I think that mainly applies to the English Saddle and Black colors - I got my Navy one on a promo + additional % off a few months ago. IMO, they are awesome bags. I use one daily to tote papers, a small laptop, and all sorts of odds and ends. They also have them at Shopbop, where I've seen discounts apply in the past - I got my English Saddle one from there with a global 25% promo about a year ago. Soft and body-skimming (took my usual S). The best part is that it doesn't have the triangle detail at the neckline that just about every other sweatshirt thing has lately (even the retail version of this same dress - b1918). silver_lininghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11145331294538875917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-53960570847585962322014-09-09T23:26:18.274-04:002014-09-09T23:26:18.274-04:00Hi! I took my normal sz. 29. I was told they run big, but that wasn't the case for me. I love the higher rise and that they're the perfect length on me b/c even though they're "ankle length", on me they fit perfect and I can just roll them if I want them to be ankle length. I think the Albion plaid shirt runs slightly small as far as the Ex-Boyfriend Shirts go, so I would say if you're between sizes to size up. The Maison des A.R.T.S. sweatshirt I think runs at least a full size large, so go down one size in this. Hope this helps! I'm loving a lot of the Madewell offerings so far!Marielarue7https://www.blogger.com/profile/16327728409607390921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-84615544945535257842014-09-09T15:37:21.277-04:002014-09-09T15:37:21.277-04:00After that long snarky review I feel the need to p...After that long snarky review I feel the need to post something nice, so I will say that I looove the Madewell Rowhouse sweater. I ordered it in the "bright berry," which is a saturated true red, notwithstanding the somewhat deceptive name. The merino is lightweight and almost silky, but opaque. I ordered my usual XS, and it was a casual, slouchy fit.Hexiconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00834188332983426624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-21854912880405845562014-09-09T15:04:27.183-04:002014-09-09T15:04:27.183-04:00Posting a "meh" review of the Regent bla...Posting a "meh" review of the Regent blazer in Vintage Red.

Color: I am finicky about color so I wanted to post a detailed description, especially because red is a hard color to purchase online. I would describe it as a true red, but a "light" true red. It's not lipstick (bluish), tomato or flame (orange-y), or strawberry (pinkish), but it is lighter and less "saturated" than other items I consider a true red. It's different than every other red in my JC-dominated wardrobe. Closest item is probably the red Eaton trouser.

Fit: I'm 5'4" but due to torso length I don't wear a petite well, so most of my JC jackets are regular; even so, I usually don't have to alter the sleeves. The sleeves on this jacket are noticeably longer than on other jackets, which may be nice for you taller ladies. The shape is probably better for rulers; there was not enough waist definition for my hourglass.

Style: The "popped" collar gives the effect of a stand collar, almost a Mandarin-style. I thought it was a flattering, face-framing look, like the Bella of yore. I have a long neck, so my jaw does not touch the collar even when I put my chin down, but if you have a shorter neck or blend your foundation down your neck, make-up could be an issue. Although you can flip down the collar, due to its size and the size of the lapels, it simply doesn't work down IMO. There is a contrast striped lining in black and white that shows if you want to roll up the sleeves.

Quality: For the last ten years or so, I've bought at least one novelty blazer from JC each fall. I know we all complain about the decline in quality, and this is a good example. The fabric is thinner than I expected, and something is "off" about the front, maybe the interfacing. It lacks shaping and the special details of older JC jackets.

Of course, now that I've complained about all of this, I'm not sure that I could find anything better for the price. Ordinarily I would return it and see if I changed my mind at a later markdown, but it's on backorder, so that's not an option.
Hexiconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00834188332983426624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-12493375851220317172014-09-09T14:52:08.542-04:002014-09-09T14:52:08.542-04:00OMG.
