The color is similar in pigmentation to Honey Glaze, however, it is more of a true yellow and a tad brighter (but not as bright as, say, Maize or a neon Citron).

I got it in 10P and I usually wear mediums or 8s in most J Crew tops. The shoulders definitely are small (which is good because I have narrow shoulders) but (similar to the Fiona and Lady Day on me) the uppers arms are just a tad snug but with a fitted shirt under are just fine.

The shape is just to die for and I find fits my small upper frame well and has a nice structured fitted waist. The buttons are a lighter camel tortoise shell and really look nice with the saturated yellow. The lining is ivory colored. I think Deep Yellow is a color that would look great on a lot of people (I'm very fair with pink undertones) and the wool is soft and not as significantly textured as other double cloth coats.

Simply put: Cute and fun!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-57794018647244686382008-10-24T08:15:00.000-04:002008-10-24T08:15:00.000-04:00I just got my maggies and unfortunately they are a...I just got my maggies and unfortunately they are a tad small.

So for reference - 6 in andrea, 8 in lucille, and 8 is needed in Maggie.

The wool is very soft and not at all itchy, and the workmanship is very good. There are some pin stitching details around the jacket. The pockets are slanted, and on the smaller size. I got both a 8P and 6 and the sleeves on the petite are just right and when rolled up is the bracelet length. Regular is a little long not rolled up. I'm 5'2" btw.

This jacket fits into the 'classic with a twist' category.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-56029332382733859962008-10-23T21:11:00.000-04:002008-10-23T21:11:00.000-04:00FFM - the buttons on the black Maggie are also bla...FFM - the buttons on the black Maggie are also black. I ordered this in a 14 tall ( I am 5'11, 40D) and it was proportioned totally wrong for me. I really was trying to WILL my bod into this :) but to no avail. Just a warning to those of you with broad shoulders, long waists, and "ample busts"-this MAY not be the blazer for you. Although it fitted me poorly, I was impressed with the quality of the fabric and with the workmanship. The wool is VERY substantial and it is lined in fog colored satin throughout the body and golden cypress satin in the sleeves. The sleeves lend themselves well to turning up. Compared to other JCrew blazers and especially to the sweaters (most of which are poor quality compared to what was offered "back in the day"-I've been a customer for a l-o-n-g time :) )I do think that this is worth the $250 ($260 for tall) price point. FFM the buttons are BLACK on the black jacket :).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-23848445756030575502008-10-23T17:02:00.000-04:002008-10-23T17:02:00.000-04:00Kitchy7: Congratulations! I can definitely see how it is different than on the website, but it wasn't as short as I was expecting it to be from the comments.
