  1. This promo ends just when the new arrivals hit. No I will not be ordering.

  2. No, knits I am interested in right now. Nice that they have a promo but nothing is catching my eye or must have.

  3. thanks for posting about this, alexis! i took the opportunity to pick up the lilac showers shift dress. the discount was just a tiny bit better than getting free shipping, so i can live with that. fingers crossed that it fits!

  4. I'm on a shopping ban for Lent, but I picked up a few things on the last promo (wool jaspe top, which I love, it is so soft) so I think I am good for now. We need a new kitchen, so I will *really* need to scale back from ordering 2-3 times per month haha!

  6. I noticed that they raised the price of the Garland tank. It used to be $42.50 online now its $45.

  7. I want to get the lilac showers shift dress also! Does anyone know how it fits? I don't want to size too far down. . . .

  8. christina,

obviously i haven't tried it on yet, but i went with the small since the sizes go all the way down to x-x-small. usually i wear a small or medium, so decided to go with the smaller of my two sizes. i'm hoping it works out because i really love it on the model. anyone else tried this one on?

  9. Am I missing something here? I went to the J Crew site and saw the banner at the top about the 20% discount, prices as marked. Then I scrolled down for quite a bit before I found any discounted tees, five to be exact. SURELY I am missing something, otherwise it is pathetic.

  10. David- You have to click on the item and then the 20% off price will show up in red. And thanks Allie!

  11. Oddly enough, the only knit I am interested in is the ultra-knit weekend pants, but it looks like those were left out of the promo! C'mon, j.crew!

Even easier would be to go to the Sale section and click on tees & knits

  13. Or go to the sale section, the tees/knits are in there with the discounted prices

  14. I bought the Ultra Knit Zip hoodie in neon melon. Not a bad deal w/ student discount too!

  15. ashley,
My online PS (and I checked with two) said the student and educator's discount cannot be used with promo items. Only full priced.

  16. I love this type of promotion because since you don't have to enter a code to get the 20% off you can enter a free shipping code yay! I went in on some tees and such with my best friend to get above the $150 mark. I got the twisted neck painter tee- I figure it's a cute basic item to wear with my brique skirt, and I also got the Saturday Twist dress which I've been wanting since before the holidays but I'm glad I waited because I like the new spice color. Good thing is with free shipping if sizes don't work out no money lost!

  17. The new rollout at the B&M has SO MANY new tees. Perhaps they're running this promo to clear out the current merchandise before the new arrivals go online Thursday.

  18. I'm considering picking up a pair of Pixie pants in black. I'd appreciate JCA feedback on the fit (small, TTS, large). I'm usually a 4 in JC bottoms. Thanks for your help, ladies!

  19. Mimi- I don't own the pixie's but I've tried them several times in the store (haven't convinced myself to purchase them yet). Anyways I think they fit small, I guess because they are tight if that makes sense? I plan to size up one size if I ever get them. Might also depend on your body type - I don't have particularly thin legs so I thought the one size up was more comfortable. Waist wise my normal size was ok but even the butt part just felt better a size up . . . Also closing the zipper is a consideration too, since they aren't just stretchy leggings. Hope this helps a bit!

  20. I also noticed that the prices of many of the novelty knits have gone up. I bought the tissue garland tank yesterday for $42.50; regular price is now listed at $45

  21. Thanks Mags and Christina- I guess I've been so successful in my J Crew ban that I've forgotten how the promos work. But since I'm about to fall off the wagon, I need some tips on sizing. Regarding the scout chino, is it TTS or do I need to size down as I did for the skimmer pant? Also, has anyone bought any of the new flats? Are they running TTS? Last summer I bought a pair of the aqua leather ones with the satin bow(? name). I thought they were beautiful, but they ran so large-length and width- I sent them back, not wanting to go back and forth with shipping charges. However, I really like some of the new flats and I'm thinking about taking the plunge again. Also, has anyone tried the Alecia platform peeptoes? I LOVE the way they look , but I'm not sold on the zipper at the heel. It looks like it could be a comfort issue. Ladies, I would really appreciate any advice/thoughts on the above subjects. I hardly buy anything anymore without taking in to account what I read on this blog. TIA!

  22. A- Something has been up with the tissue garland tank for a few weeks. I bought it in store a few weeks ago when it first came out as a new arrival for $42.50, about 10 days after that I was on a skiing trip with me friends in Salt Lake City and we went to JCrew and one friend tried it on and we noticed that ALL of those tanks had stickers on them that said $45 in place of the $42.50. Now I see what you are saying that online it's also $45 . . . Totally true storey! Wonder what that's all about!

  23. Christina, that's so strange! I guess I got it just in time! Although it was my THIRD time ordering the tissue garland tank in-store yesterday - the fist two I ordered both arrived with the garland partially ripped off. I really hope the third time is the charm and this one is in good shape - especially because now ordering another would be more expensive! ugh. I think if this one arrives ripped also I'm going to give up, even though I think the tank is absolutely adorable.

  24. I also noticed at my neighborhood B&M yesterday that they have several pieces out on the floor (not in the sale section) at full price that were on final sale on the website and are now long gone online - a couple examples I remember are the Jackie cardigan in light peri and breeze and the ruffled Celosia cardigan in coral and melon. I really want the light peri and melon cardis, but I want to pay the final sale price for them - not the full price they're still at in my store! I wonder why they're still full price there. I asked the SA if she could price match them to the final sale price, but since they're already gone from the website, she said she couldn't do it because they're not on sale online.

  25. David: I have both the Scout and Skimmer pants, and I took the same size in both of them, you might want to check the measurements to be sure, the Scout is 1in larger in the hips compared to the Skimmer but it has no stretch.

  26. Mimi, I found the Pixies TTS. Got my normal 4

  27. Mimi, I LOVE my pixie pants, esp with long cardigans. I sized up -- I usually wear a 0 in pants, but took a 2 in these.

  28. For sale:
I have a classic Camel Pea Coat with Thinsulate from a couple seasons ago. Gorgeous, soft, felted wool and beautiful satin lining with chain at inside back collar for hanging. Excellent condition. Worn only one winter, dry cleaned and never worn again. It's too big on me. Size 2, $150 (includes shipping).

    E-mail me at csclee15@hotmail.com.

  29. I caved!

Went for the Gabriella dress in Navy and Portland Gray and threw in a pair of shorts to try on to get above the $150 for free shipping. I know this dress will probably go lower later on but I love it and I would be heartbroken to miss it!

Plus we are only a couple of months away from being able to wear it here in Central Cali. (can you tell I'm justifying ;0)

  30. this promo goes until the 25th, isn't that the day new stuff come out?? so,wouldn't this promo apply to new knits/tees, or not?

    ReplyDelete
  31. mrs.anketell, I was thinking the same thing - but then there might be no free shipping code and the shipping charges would cancel out the % off. hmmmm....!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oy vey...bit hard on this one, since there was a bunch of stuff I could use (as opposed to needed), and why pay full price? The no shipping code helped. Has anyone tried the molten-metallic tissue tank? Thought it would be nice with neutrals + gold sandals.

  33. I'm on the site now shopping away! I've got a couple knit tops in my shopping cart at the moment, and I'm looking into buying a pair of leggings. Has anyone tried their leggings? I've bought two pairs which were not cheap and they are totally sheer :(

    Thanks in advance!
