Extra 25% Off Holiday Sale Ends Today

Today is the last day J.Crew is offering an extra 25% off their Holiday Sale (click here), and free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code EXTRA25.

Moreover, today (by 11:59 PM, EST) is the last day to ship with standard Holiday delivery.

For some JCAs, this promotion has been a wonderful incentive to buy some Holiday gifts (including for ourselves, of course!) For other JCAs, this promotion was not enticing enough. (And the fact that this promotion had to be over $150+ *after* the 25% discount was applied, didn't help too much either.)

I am looking forward to seeing what tomorrow's promotion (if any) is. Let's hope it's something great! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. Decent update this morning, better than the past few days. I didn't get anything (2 bags and 2 coats earlier in the week), but there might be a few popbacks that others have been waiting for. Good luck!

  2. There was a good update, although stuff I'm stalking did not show up. I'm sure it will tomorrow as soon as the 25% off is gone :)

  3. Got two bags that I'd missed during the last 25%-off and 30%-off promos. (And I also stopped by the store and got a sweater that was marked down lower than online, in a store-only color.) Now I really need to put myself on a shopping "diet"!

The update wasn't bad, though it was strange -- I was seeing some stuff that had popped back from almost a year ago (the tissue ruffle cardigan, luxe pleated shell, etc.). Nothing I was stalking, though.

  4. No. Wish they had something like Ann taylor's 40% off offer.

  5. I just bought the Annalise ruffle cami in Dark Slate. God knows I don't need another ruffly cami, but I think I'll get a lot of use out of this one in the neutral color. I'd been resisting it for a long time, but the 25% promo helped me take the plunge! Happy shopping everyone!

  6. Waiting and hoping that after this last week-end of Christmas shopping, JCrew will do something big to clear out leftover merchandise. There are a few things in my cart but nothing I'm really excited about. I'll get up early to check the popbacks when holiday returns start. As much as I'd love a discount and free shipping, it's the merchandise that's keeping me from buying. After all the Christmas shopping money I spent (and none of it at JCrew) I just don't see anything worth further depleting the bank account for.

  7. I already own everything on my very short must-have list. I am starting to look at items that have grown on me, but keep reminding myself that the resort collection will be out soon. Any idea when the new catalog will be out and new items will be online?

  8. Hi Everyone,
I have been following this blog since the summer but have never contributed until now, as I am a little 'technologically challenged'! With some help from my DH, I am now here!!!
I love this blog and enjoy reading everyone's comments.
I have definitely taken full advantage of the promos that have been offered throughout the month of December and feel as though I need some serious shopping rehab at this point. My credit card is smokin' but it has been worth it considering some of the deals I've scored (at least that is how I am justifying it!) LOL

  9. Just wondering if someone can tell me what the sales online were like last year after Christmas...

  10. One thing I know about the after X'mas sale is that it will most likely be final sale :( Probably starting on Christmas day.

  11. There were 463 women's sale items before 4am this morning. Then there were 692 sale items between 4am and 7 am. When I checked agin at 7:30, it was down to a little over 500.

  12. Man, I wonder what those almost 200 items that popped during the early morning were. Right now, I see the same 500 items in the women's sale that I've been seeing for the past week or so. There's not anything that I'm dying to have. I already took advantage of the extra25 and I was looking for some "extra" things that I might have missed the first time. :) Oh well, I'm just going to wait and see what kind of deals JC offers tomorrow. JC really hasn't been bringing their best game with their sales. I'm just not that into the styles at the Loft or BR right now. I wish I was since I'd probably be getting more bang for my buck!

  13. Yes, buy now and not later. Final sale will appear very soon (probaby the 25th like someone said) and then I don't check the sale section for many months. I refuse to buy final sale items and just don't play JC's game. So I have been buying on and off so I know I can easily return.

  14. Has anyone tried the Dolce cable knit sweater? Does it fit TTS? The description says it is long sleeved but on the model it looks 3/4 sleeved. Maybe the model is 6ft tall but still, it looks like it fits small. TIA

  15. I'm with crewcrazy -- since I made a big ol' order the day the extra25 promo was released, I'm holding out for post-xmas to see what the deal is. I believe that last year I stayed up until modnight on 12/25 to see if the site flipped to final sale, and I think it did, and I cleaned up. I *think*. So I will probably do that again just to see if I can score any awesome deals. I can tell you I won't be in store on 12/26. I just can't hang on that day (or black friday, lol).

  16. I finally caved in last night after going to the mall and not finding any decent black wool coat in petite. I thought i got a good deal with the double cloth lady day coat especially with the free shipping. I was afraid if i waited till after christmas for any more sales, i might not be able to get the size i needed. I kept holding off on a charcoal sweater and now that color is gone.

  17. Tweetle: I have not tried the Dolce sweater but I have seen it in store. Do not let the pic fool you ... the knit is very loose, so if anything you might need to size down. HTH!

  18. I happened to be up at 2am PST when the sale section updated to over 600 items. There were some older items like the french terry cardigan and rolling ruffles tank. I placed an order - it was over $150 with the EXTRA25 code - but I was still charged for shipping. I decided to place the order anyway (since I knew there was probably just one of each item) and ask for a refund on the shipping.

  19. Hi All,

Just wanted warn all jcrew aficionadas living in NYC, I just looked at one of my last orders and learned that NY sales tax is charged not only on items over $110, but also on S&H!!! That is absolutely RIDICULOUS!

So, in other words, if you buy an item costing more than $110, you pay taxes on the item AND on S&H!
This was the first time in a long time that I ordered stuff with paid shipping, my rule is - no orders online unless I get a free shipping....Of course, had there been no quality and sizing issued, I would not have to do it....

Just wanted to bring it to other JA's attention...

  20. @ green_dino: I have a bad news for you :(, this is yet another JC trick:
"Free shipping applies to orders of $150+ AFTER 25% discount on sale items and before shipping, handling and taxes are added"

But, please let us know if you got the refund.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My order total was more than $150 after I applied the discount. Sorry for being unclear. I try to read all the fine print on J.Crew codes since you just never know. I already received a response from CS - "Thank you for inquiring about your recent order. We apologize for any confusion you may have experienced with your recent order. Due to a hiccup in our website the discount for shipping and handling is not visible on your order summary but has been honored on your order." Just a FYI in case this happens to anyone else.

  22. I don't know if anyone else has braved their outlet this weekend, but they wouldn't let me use the previous posted outlet coupon on clearance items. :(

I know in the past I've used these types of coupons on purchases that included clearance items, but they considered the additional percentage off of clearance an additional promo that couldn't be used with the coupon. Blech! Oh well.

  23. Forgot the dreaded FS would be appearing soon. Oh well, I need to buy only things I can't live without and stop buying things I just like. Thanks for the reminder - I'll have to keep a closer eye on the sale site this week.

  24. i don't often post (ok, never), but i thought i'd tell you guys but i'm vacationing and decided to, of course, hit up the jcrew outlet down here in florida. i think the checkout girl didn't know much because she let me use my student ID and discounted everything--including clearance!

i got a nice butterscotch blazer (the receipt says school boy--looks the same, but it has one button) for $35, 2 pairs of matchstick cords for $7 each, a belle skirt, a cute headband. they had a rolling ruffles top (it was slightly different than the normal version) for $6!!!!!! i almost cried thinking of how much i paid for the 3 i already own.

this was at the ellenton prime outlet.

  25. Nothing much left on the men's side. Seems like all the good stuff is either not on sale or sold out. Then there is 'the question' .... do I really need another wool sweater or another pair of gray pants?

Sorry J.Crew nothing really enticing me, guess I have way too much willpower today.

  26. oliveoil, the manager of my b&m (Santa Monica 3rd Street Promendade) told me yesterday that resort would be in the stores the last week of December.

  27. Well, I checked my mailbox today and unfortunately there was no Xmas gift from J.Crew (a.k.a. 2010 planner)to be found. Anyone, know the criteria they use to determine, who receives such lovely surprises? I can't imagine it's random.

  28. I was up early this morning when the site updated. It was 600+ items, but when I clicked through I got the "sorry not available" thing for most of them. More of that cat-and-mouse game that keeps us all checking sale on a daily basis.

I did get an ethereal cardi and an ethereal v-neck on popback yesterday w/my ruffle coat, so that made me happy.

  29. if anyone was looking for the sequin skirt, there was a size 6 in the silver color at the jcrew in emeryville

  30. I have taken advantage of the 25% off sale to pick up a few items and some super cute crewcuts items-I was very excited to score the Frances in Cinnamon Spice this morning:) I too thought about the dreaded final sale... you know its coming!! arghhh
I would be nice if they offered a % off this week on everything not just sale- HO HO HO

  31. Sophia - I think adding S&H to the total and then charging tax on top of that has been the standard practice for a while now; I've lived and had deliveries in several states. I agree, it's ridiculous and I don't order now unless it's free S&H.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ green_dino: good to hear that!

@ audrey: yes, unfortunately it is a standard, and just like you - I don't order unless S&h is free.
Paying almost $20 for shipping 2 or 3 items AND taxing that shipping charge - almost 9% in NYC(of course, it's the State law, not JC, but still..) it's too much....

  33. DinDin - Thanks so much! That's the size I was looking for in the silver stardust skirt. I called the store and they're shipping it to me. Thank you for the early Christmas present!

  34. I had a quick look through the sale site and didn't add a thing to my cart. Guess I'm too late to the party.

Just got back from a long trip and had the opportunity to stop into several different B&Ms along the way. The only thing I bought for myself was a pair of matchstick cords. I was really disappointed in the merch available, there was really nothing else I found exciting enough to add to my already burgeoning closet. I did manage to pick up the buffalo check shirt jacket, a couple of thermals, a pair of cargos, two pairs of jeans and a tartan tie for my husband though. The menswear has been great this season and there were some great deals in some of the stores.

I would love a promo on full-price merch, there are a couple of collection items that I would consider at a discount. Guess we'll see soon enough.
