I am also very glad to hear that they have lowered the waist from high waist (as has been the unfortunate case (for me, at least) in the past). I like it a more true waist position (I started to wonder if the sizing models had unusual high waists!). Also good to know that it is quite fitted. I have a lady coat that is nicely fitted...now just wondering about the metro 2012...how fitted is that one. Thanks for your review of the slim trench, Debby !Cybeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03530317680579209911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-41187296810179718592012-09-13T20:10:40.646-04:002012-09-13T20:10:40.646-04:00as compared to last year...I am looking at the new...as compared to last year...I am looking at the new 2012 coats (which state they have a slimmer cut...) ..so wondering what people are finding in this regard. I was particularly excited to receive the Factory classic crewneck cardi in vibrant flame stripe, and upon receiving it, I promptly went back to the website and rechecked the image. Either I'm colorblind or online it's a bright orange sweater with tan stripes. In reality, it's a bright orange sweater with horribly clashing olive green stripes. Huh?? It's too bad because I'm quite happy with the sweater itself - it runs really short but I'm short so no issue here - but I'm not about to place another $175+ order just to get it in a different color without paying for shipping. A bit sad about that one.

Next up, the Factory pony hair skinny belt. I think the belts I see street vendors selling look more upscale than this. I love skinny belts, but given the amount of fabric used to construct this item, I might as well tie a string around my waist. However, what it lacks in substance in terms of width, it more than makes up for in length. I bought a size small and I am a good three inches away from being able to wear it on the smallest belt hole, and even if I created a new hole to make it smaller, I'm left with a mile of dangling excess. Back it goes.

Next up, the Factory abstract tweed mini. It has an exposed zipper at the back, which I didn't know about and personally I love exposed zippers but I know they're not a universal favorite aesthetically speaking. It fits wonderfully and from a distance it looks great, but up close it looks so cheap to me. (It's days like this when I hate living alone - I really need a second opinion!!) It reminds me of a collection skirt I stalked for months two winters ago, and when I finally bought it for $119.99 on final sale after an additional percentage off, I was really disappointed and ended up reselling it here a few months later for about half what I paid. I wish I could remember the name of it; my inner geek nicknamed it the dot matrix skirt because it looked like a printer test sheet from the '80s up close. So, to return or not to return? Will have to decide tomorrow when I pack up the rest of the lot.

On a side note, I received an email back from customer service regarding the defective corduroys I bought on final sale and they did a pre-return immediately, which seemed appropriate but I still really appreciated it and found it to be an example of great customer service. I was less in love with the latter portion of the email which responded to my complaint about not receiving a 20% off code in any of my 4 orders by saying that "there are no specific criterion for the promotion"... bla bla bla. Makes me feel better about all the returns though, given that I'm not a big returner.Darahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03067813535182618115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-54280541242822544442012-08-22T17:51:14.549-04:002012-08-22T17:51:14.549-04:00The main difference, in my experience, is the high...The main difference, in my experience, is the high waisted ness. My daughter is almost 15 months, and I am at pre-pregnancy weight, but things are a a bit different (I was measured for a bridesmaid dress and my hips have spread 3/4" pre-preg).

I'm still nursing my daughter twice a day, and I know my chest will be different when I'm done weaning her. I was trying on some dresses that I bought over the summer for an upcoming trip. It fit perfectly at the time that I bought it (Ella dress), and when I tried it on again over the weekend, it was so tight, I almost cried. Fed my daughter and the dress was loose on top.

I also bought the navy schoolboy - love it and it was on my list, too! :)injanuityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06592814180481080058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-55276851483216965442012-08-22T08:06:18.294-04:002012-08-22T08:06:18.294-04:00I broke down and placed an order this am. It all changes postpartum - at one point I was ready to get rid of all my blazers 'cause I was certain they would never fit again in the shoulders and then one day out of nowhere they were fine. This is exciting for me because I live two hours from the nearest store and I never get away from home, but today I did.

Anyway, there were some beautiful things, the minnies, the cafe capris, the pencil skirts, just everything. But alas, I am so pregnant that I really cannot try anything on and afraid that it may be a while before I can wear normal clothes again! I did end up buying the rugby striped boatneck top, the navy is so beautiful in person. It looks much shorter in person though than online. Confused by this. There was a decent sale section with no extra % off so the prices are better online right now.

I also bought the navy schoolboy and small biennial bag. I took a pretty good look at the stretch perfect shirt in stripe and I swear they are thicker and nicer material than last year but I don't know if my pregnancy brain is playing tricks on me or not. The navy school boy is beautiful. It was on my "fall shopping list". Ladies I have stayed true to my fall shopping list, sans one purchase so far. I am proud of myself.
