Unfortunately for me, I should've paid more attention to the reviews and given the matter more thought. I'm a 0-0P in chinos and other JC pants, such as the Minnie, so I ordered these at Final Sale and alas, although they *technically* fit, they are way too tight in the crotch area. So bummed, as these are lovely. Will watch for popback in the next size up -- they are that nice and I'd love to own them in a size that fits in this color! I am usually a 2 in Blazers. 0 fit but was tight across the shoulders and arms were short (I'm 5'6" but seem to have long arms!). The 2 just fit over a blazer, but on me the length felt a little short. I'd probably size up to a 4 or even a 6. (To wear over a blazer and for the sleeve length).
I absolutely loved the red, bright but not neon, and surprisingly, the pale gray was gorgeous! I have dark hair and fair skin so usually go for red, black or dark colors. I was surprised how beautiful the light gray was. I also really loved the fur hood. To me that detail made the coat more special.
Suz Hashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13861014424535094375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-75431234761026810782015-12-16T13:32:48.940-05:002015-12-16T13:32:48.940-05:00thanks ladies! hopefully I can snap some pics of t...thanks ladies! hopefully I can snap some pics of the pants this weekend and post. I love the idea of a swingy silhouette, and already thinking that if I had to size up to get the shoulders/arms to fit, I may end up with a wider silhouette, and that could potentially be a dealbreaker. Great idea to contact a CS! Didn't think to do that. The shoulders fit just right on my usual 4 with the rest of the body in an swingy A-line shape (which I liked). If I were to size down to get a smaller "swing" in the body, the shoulders would be too tight. CS is great with giving measurements before you order - you may want to contact them and have them give you measurements for both the 2P and the 4P to help you decide. Good luck! Sometimes the differences in sizes are so slight it's hard to choose. silver_lininghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11145331294538875917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-49724770577377590582015-12-16T10:36:13.604-05:002015-12-16T10:36:13.604-05:00All right, friends, let's talk Chateau Parka. ...All right, friends, let's talk Chateau Parka. I know this is a favorite for many, and considering it's always excluded from promos, it's considered a bestseller. I'm on the fence... it does have some great details, and I could certainly use a warm jacket to survive our Midwestern winters (though so far, this winter has been extremely mild). I'm interested in the navy colorway, but concerned about the sizing. I wear petite, and some of the reviews indicate this jacket runs huge. I've also struggled with the arms in J.Crew jackets -- the cut is too slender, but I'm afraid sizing up in this jacket would be a mistake if the A-line ends up being too large. Any petites who've had luck with this jacket and figured out the magic size that works for them? I have a 2P and a 4P in my cart, but I'm certain they'll sell out before I pull the trigger. Hoping I may score a popback at some point, but if it's a final sale item I can't commit to something that may not fit. Any feedback is appreciated! I disagree. It's a mid weight wool, similar in texture to the full length pant in bi stretch wool but a little lighter. The leather stripe is nice, though there is a seam in the middle (somewhere above the knee I think) which was wrinkled when I took it out of the package, I've had them hung up for a few days and tried them on again and like them even more, especially with the zip back beaded shoulder sweater--the length is perfect together. I like this material 100 X better than the patio in cotton. I ordered these in my normal size and they are a bit on the narrow side (my foot is a bit wide) and a bit on the long side. I could use half a size down in length, but I wouldn't do it because of the width. The style looks and fits like the Darby loafers (and maybe they are the Darby loafers with another name, you never know with J. Crew). I liked them right away, but am a little concerned with how they will wear. I wouldn't wear them for long outings or in bad weather, but it seems like the toes could get messed up if I'm not careful. They're super comfortable, and I think the width will be fine after I wear them once or twice. Just thought I'd ask here, before I make the final decision about keeping them. I thought the clasp opened but it does not. It slips over the hand.

E1069 glitter ankle strap ballet flat: love them but may need to return because they run really large on me. Although the strap keeps them secure it seems I have about 1/4 inch room at the front. Even at the sale price, $90 is a lot for shoes if they stretch out and I can't wear them. Otherwise they are very comfortable and I love the black detail around the shoe and ankle. The glitter is a much finer glitter than the glitter Elsies.

E5641, E5593 wide leg pant in wool (black) and glen plaid wool: to refresh, I ordered these when they first came out but got two of my smaller size by mistake. The black just popped back but I wasn't sure if I'd need to size up even more since they were a bit tight, so I got two more sizes in the glen plaid. Fortunately the 0 fits, the 2 is ok but a little loose. (Not even trying the 4.) the glen plaid is great but since the black fits and I love this pant, I'm sticking with that (I don't need both. The length is long but works with heels on me (5'6", size 0).

Rayner jeans in black and Keller wash: I ordered these in black with my continued quest to find great black pants. At first I wasn't sure but then decided I liked them enough to go for the final sale Keller wash. The denim Keller wash is definitely a bit stiffer out of the package. I'm hoping they soften up enough, and I will steam them since the leg lies funny from packaging. For the final sale price it's a good deal on a different silhouette. They happen to look good with flats and heels. I actually prefer the front of the black with the little front welt pockets as opposed to the traditional front pocket on the Keller wash.

Wool boatneck sweater in stripe: I sized up one and love this. The wool is very soft and not itchy. It's a little loose but the shape doesn't seem to be meant to be worn too tight or fitted..

Patio pant in black wool with leather tuxedo stripe, patio pant in cotton (various colors). I dislike the cotton in this style. It feels too thin and stretchy. If it was a little heavier (like a twill) I'd like it better. I do like the black wool with leather tuxedo stripe, but prefer the wider leg of the Rayner jean in black or the exaggerated leg of the wide-leg pant in wool. I like the length of these and the flat front, just wish the leg was a little more dramatic like the cropped pant with the pleats (which didn't work for me because of the pleat placement, although I loved them otherwise).

I also mentioned the Point Sur teddy buckle back jean in Falcone wash, which I had been eyeing but were final sale for the longest time. I finally bit the bullet and ordered them in my usual size and LOVE them. However one leg is a little shorter than the other. I contacted customer service but my size is sold out, so I can't exchange. They did offer me a credit if I went to a tailor and had the hem evened out, but I'm afraid that might make them too short. I may undo the hems completely and leave the bottoms rough (there are some $$$ jeans with a similar silhouette with cut hems and they look great) or just leave them as is and figure over time they will soften up.
