Gorgeous and timeless. Yes, it can be work appropriate but as I mentioned in the review of the item posted online at JC site, you could absolutely make this a fabulous cocktail party or going-out dress with some fancy heels and a statement necklace. I anticipate having (and wearing) this dress in my closet for a long, long time. Suggest you order and try. I have a feeling the shape isn't going to be what I'm looking for.

I wonder why they are adding zippers to so many sweaters and tops this year. Zippers usually mean extra production expense, right? But they're putting them on clothes that don't need zippers (at the hem vents, at the shoulders, in the back of tops that could pull over your head without an opening). They can't be that much out of design ideas, I hope.catehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17121234545386465542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-74195054771302182652014-10-24T04:39:47.540-04:002014-10-24T04:39:47.540-04:00I purchased this in my usual size online and had t...I purchased this in my usual size online and had the chance to try it on in person today, and I had to size down, one size (usually a 0 but had to order a 00). I think they were...Stopped into the B&M today. I think they were still putting out some of the new items, it was kind of hard to tell what was new.

Chateau parka (b3901) - Cute. Definitely A-line in shape, I tried my usual 4 and it was a little like a bell but not in a bad way. I wouldn't size down because it would probably be too tight in the shoulders. I don't think it will be warm enough if my winter involves another polar vortex. The warmest JC coat I have to date is the 2009 wool duffle with Thinsulate. (Maybe we can do another coat-specific post sometime, Alexis?)

Merino wool pointelle cable sweater (b5916) - My store was almost out of the heather lichen ones, so I tried the ivory for size. My usual S fit fine, a teeny bit boxy but again, I wouldn't size down. Something about these boxy sweaters with the slits on the sides I don't love - it feels like I'm drawing attention to a problem area. The pointelle down the front is a little see through.

High-low crewneck sweater (b6192) - TTS. Dropped shoulders are so unflattering, I can't even. Plus, the way that they're constructed, the dropped seam kind of juts out a bit (you know how you get little peaks on a sweater if it's been on a hanger? Kind of like that). Plus, the blend felt very much like my beloved JCF open cardigan that didn't make it a month.

Side-zip stripe tee (b1468) - I thought this was a different one when I brought it into the fitting room. Basic. TTS. I'm not into zippers on tops so it wasn't for me, but the heft of the fabric was nice. Dropped shoulders, go to hell.

Saw but didn't try on the painted stripe sweatshirt (b7180) - white stripes have a plastic-y feel to them (I wonder if they'd crack when washed), pieced pinstripe sweatshirt (b5704) - I didn't realize this one had an exposed zip in the back.

Oh! They improved on the suede shearling scuffs (b4051) by adding a rubber sole. I wear these all winter and previous versions would wear right the sole. These I could wear outside if I was so inclined. ;) silver_lininghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11145331294538875917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-7342733866208470132014-10-23T11:38:54.191-04:002014-10-23T11:38:54.191-04:00So, that leather panel dress is gorgeous!! The lighter colors for outerwear are very fresh looking, but I know in reality, they'd start looking dirty and drab quickly if they were worn a lot. Maybe for a dressier coat you don't wear often? But then in that case, I'd really hate to spend so much money for something I can't use and wear regularly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-2472136703301206392014-10-23T08:26:00.802-04:002014-10-23T08:26:00.802-04:00Also, the matching ring is lovely but it is a doub...Also, the matching ring is lovely but it is a double ring and when I tried it on my short fingers I could not bend the finger :)JRSConiferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03267439414300795711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-2087940863010487922014-10-23T08:20:42.063-04:002014-10-23T08:20:42.063-04:00Maryeb, yes that is the bracelet. On that site it is called cubic zircona cuff, you maybe able to google it. I tried it over a sweater and bare skin and liked both. I think with a Tippi it would be perfect.
