I have the "classic" cafe capris from a couple of years ago and they fit the same as these new ones. I am between a 2 and 4 and may take the 2 because they tend to stretch out a bit. They're more streamlined. I like these better because the opening at the bottom is not "flared" like the classic but has a skinnier opening, it that makes sense. Can't wait until they go on sale.Zoelicioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284110248528884066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-69975647125942083432011-01-17T15:46:11.037-05:002011-01-17T15:46:11.037-05:00XOXO, I think they've hit it as far as classic...XOXO, I think they've hit it as far as classics are concerned. The bad news for J. Crew is that those pieces are so classic, I already own them! I think many of us probably already have some version of those items.

Off topic, did anyone receive the small spring lookbook in the mail? It's women's wear on one side and you flip it over to view men's. I know a link to the spring pictures was posted some time ago. It was nice looking at them on paper. While I'm not crazy about the styling I was able to identify some individual pieces I think I'm going to like.SunnyDayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06398034412926361235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-18901033095297954102011-01-17T14:07:32.914-05:002011-01-17T14:07:32.914-05:00I'm not crazy about capris. I'm tall and ...I'm not crazy about capris. I'm tall and they tend to hit me in an odd spot so the few I have bought I've shortened or rolled up. Maybe it's because I have *ridiculously* skinny ankles - I can put my hand around my ankle and touch my thumb and middle finger together - because they just look odd on me. I prefer the style of pant that hits just below the knee, at the top of the calf. Usually I'd rather wear a skirt or shorts in the summer.

The email mentions that these are number 4 in a list of 11 must-have classics for 2011. What do you think of J.Crew's New Classics? I like the white blouse and the tote is nice, except for the studs. Of course the pencil skirt is one of my favorites pieces and I already have a Burberry quilted jacket that looks a lot more classic than the J.Crew version. Curious what others think of the list.xoxohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12336645422459479330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-55553711625485413242011-01-17T14:07:06.208-05:002011-01-17T14:07:06.208-05:00I don't like pockets as they always gape when ...I don't like pockets as they always gape when you sit down and are too small to hold anything like keys, let alone my hands (and trust me I have small hands). With the exception of the looser fitting Cocktail Capri (which I love) I keep all my pockets sewn shut, that goes for the cotton double serge skirts from 09 and my 2 Studio twill pants. I find the gaping looks frumpy and breaks up what would otherwise be a sleek silhouette.Color Confectionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16016830280045987746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-31944882735416959202011-01-17T13:25:23.004-05:002011-01-17T13:25:23.004-05:00When I saw the outfit in the catalog, I just loved...When I saw the outfit in the catalog, I just loved it! I ordered a perfect-fit tee in Cerise and the New Cafe Capri's in Desert in a 6P (they are waitlisted). Now I just need to find shoes similar to the
Loxley buckle peep toes. I don't like last two ankle straps.

I happened to be in my B&M store doing returns and I tried them on in a 6 and a 4 and the 4 fit perfectly but were too long for me (I'm 5'2"). I bought the skimmers and the other capris (can't remember the name) because they had pockets. I really need pockets at school since I have to carry my room keys around. I saw these this past weekend, but didn't try them on. My ps said they weren't moving, but that's probably b/c we won't be wearing them until it warms up a little. He was not happy that they'd included pockets. Maybe they should have kept the original and again had another capri with pockets.

Milljcrew, I miss all the colors, too. Since the cafe capris are only available in neutral colors, I wonder if they'll have another capri in fashion colors. *fingers crossed*math teacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09138745106263001588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-85149508252665276412011-01-17T10:43:12.184-05:002011-01-17T10:43:12.184-05:00I just say no to pockets.
