Generally, I'm fine with the magazine's breezy-style editorial commentary that presents the look-book and introduces a theme or mood that generally makes some kind of sense. This issue, however, contains a headline that is particularly tone-deaf. It appears on Page 11 -- more nice pink blazer. The headline presents "Style Math (but in a fun way)". What?? This says that math is, y'know, sort of tedious and off-putting for us readers, us girls, even if it IS linked to *fashion*. Excuse me, some of us females find math to be intuitive, fascinating and -- dare I say it? -- seriously FUN, fashion considerations aside. The message reminds me of the infamous Teen Talk Barbie who whines, "Math is HARD!" Jeez, JCrew, it's the 21st century, please don't be so behind the times. It didn't work for Mattel and it doesn't work for you. A far stronger brand promise would be to celebrate and encourage female STEM students, heroes and leaders who work every day for recognition.KidGloverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01253043078812297895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-14483286285507429212016-08-13T08:29:03.685-04:002016-08-13T08:29:03.685-04:00@Anthro Blogger - a little late to the post but I ...@Anthro Blogger - a little late to the post but I have the very bright orange tassel sandals from this year - they are BRIGHT. Not anymore. Now I have to decipher the reviews on the fit and keep my fingers crossed. I sized up, per almost all the reviews, with the Martie bi-stretch wool pants. They were a steal at $25 on final sale. I get them, and they're too big. I went to re-order a size smaller, but they're back to their original, full price. Why would I order $120 pants that were $25 two weeks ago for the exact same pants? The sizing issues and pricing games are getting to be too much.Shellyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04893183553979749976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317882250647868056.post-43507260242089948302016-08-11T10:21:07.947-04:002016-08-11T10:21:07.947-04:00Ha! So, now you can say you know someone. I know you didn't mean for your rant to be hurtful, but some may see it that way. I would invite you to think about these generalizations in light of women like me, who often have to hide behind baggy clothing at the workplace to avoid distractions.
