Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. When I placed an order on j.crew’s site I was able to apply my rewards. No need to enter a code. Or waiting for my reward via snail mail. Love this feature! Finally J.Crew. 😬

Can’t wait to try on the pink print Abigail Borg pieces - The Silk tank, skirt, and long sleeve tie-blouse.

    1. Agree that this was overdue! It is also new that you can see the rewards on the register during checkout.

    2. Yup. I was pleasantly surprised. It made check-out so easy..😬

    3. Me too! That was so nice and easy.

  2. I was planning on stopping by today to see some of the new roll out, but with no promo at all, I'm having second thoughts. We have a tax free weekend, and it is prime back to school shopping time, so I'm baffled there isn't anything but a crewcuts sale.

    1. Hi bythelake - I just got an e-mail that said 30% off your purchase (and 50% off sale items) in stores only this weekend.

    2. @silver lining - Thanks for the info

    3. That’s weird - store promo but no online?

    4. nice if you have stores near by...the customers who do not will order from other retailers. makes no sense at all.

    5. I picked up few items today: cerise cashmere sweater $23, summer Friday’s T-shirt under $7, Leonard suede shoes in grey $33 cotton Jackie cardigan $11, CS adjusted to 50% off. Great prices!!! If I can only find the tweed lady jacket with ties from last year...would be great... still hoping for a pop back... lol

  3. The eyelet backed sweatshirt in navy was marked down to $14.99 and I ordered it for myself and my mom this morning. My parents live in a beach town and it will be perfect for cool summer nights. It is very nice in person, although I haven't tried it on.

I thought it did, I always order a small in their sweatshirts.

    2. @Cheritheberry - I think it is cute too! I picked up the shirting back one in navy during the 50% off sale. Now go give away something you do not wear any more...

    3. @Cheritheberry - I just ordered one for my mom too. Not a perfect match for my shirt-back version but close. Thanks for the tip!

  4. Yesterday, stores were 50% off final sale, 30% off your purchase + 25% off w/your J. Crew card. It applied to my fs purchase as well as regular price.

Here's a Factory code good thru Sun, 8/5 for extra 20% off of $100+:

  5. Ina-quick question-if you’re a cardholder, the new rewards program basically does nothing unless you pay with something other than the JC card, right? The language is so unclear to me. Thanks!

    1. Hi @Wendy
I looked in my little pamphlet and i think if u have a crew card u get $10 for eveery $200 (instead of $5) and special birtthday surprises. HTH

      Delete
    2. But didn't we always get $10 for every $200/ $25 for $500? This isn't more, but if you don't use the J crew card you get less $ back. The only difference is the free shipping, which is great, plus maybe some other extras we haven't seen yet.

      Delete
    3. Her is what my info says:
What u get with the rewards program:
-one point for every dollar u spend
      (=200 points get $5)
      -free standard shipping
-exclusive access to sales and offers
And hey why not upgrade to a jcrew card:
—$10 credit card for every 20 points
      -15% off ur first purchase
-special birthday surprise and much more
      HTH

  6. I will be doing a return on two items from the 50% off sale where I ordered two sizes.

Based on the reviews, I ordered the 2011 Foundry pants in 4 and 6. Actually I think the 4 is running large, no reason to even try the 6. If it existed I would try the 2, but the 4 will work and be super comfortable. Tempted to unpick the hem to see if I can hem with little more length, otherwise these will be a wear with loafers pant for me. Or cuff and wear like the model shots, of course. They work with the leopard Cora sandal. Somehow each of these items were about $13. If I add the Striped button-shoulder turtleneck that I bought during a crazy flash sale on June 1st, I have a full outfit for $35. Um, thanks J Crew, but you must have lost money on these things?

And we have two pair of the mens 484 slim-fit pant in lightweight Bedford cord, one of which will go back. I think he will keep the larger pair, as these are truly a slimmer fit. These are nice pants that walk the line between casual and work. The fabric looks great, will see how they wash. I usually turn pants inside out and wash cold/short/gentle then hang dry.

    1. Sizing is so funny. I assume based on your description of the foundry pants that maybe you're straighter? (Hips and waist wise?) I like them loose so they sit low on my hips but I have a big waist to hip difference.

      Delete
    2. Actually I am 35/27/36 But my hip measurement is really due to my muscular backside. I guess my hips themselves are not wide, but I wear curvy jeans to fit the muscles in my legs. My very best fitting pants are the Ashbury palmetto flares.

      Delete
    3. That's so weird. My measurements are pretty similar, and like you are describing I have a muscular bootie. The Foundry pants in a 0 just fit but I think I ended up with a 6 and love them. I took the camo in a 4. I found the camo fit in the 00 but I wanted them loose. I guess fit is a very personal thing!

    4. The 2011 Foundry popped up in a 2 this AM. I was afraid they would sell out before I could call for an exchange, so I ordered them. Just got off the phone with CS who kindly adjusted to the price I paid on sale!

      Delete
    5. Nice! I was thinking of getting another pair.

      Delete
    6. What was the sale price you paid?

      Delete
    7. $13. They were $20 today but got adjusted down...worth either price I think...

      Delete
    8. @Sue Haz, the size 6 is gone on the website, but I happen to have a pair. Depending on the fit with the 2 I may also have a 4. I shop in Chester NJ, so I think you may be nearby? If you are interested say so and I will not return them tomorrow as planned.

      Delete
    9. Thanks for thinking of me, I actually ordered the 2 figuring it might be nice to have a more fitted pair and I know my middle daughter prefers them like that if I decide I don't!

      Delete
  7. I just got in several orders. All in all they looked good except randomly one pair of women's heels were actually sandals in the box, totally different style. Another pair of mens shoes were two right feet and two TOTALLY different styles. I am just trying to figure out who is manning the ship here??

  8. I used my Madewell $25 coupon to purchase the Emmett Denim shorts that popped back in what is usually my size but they're HUGE and don't work. The receipt doesn't say anything about using the $25 and only lists the discounted price. I assume I forfeit the $?

  9. Order arrived today. The Abigail Borg shirt dress is lovely and I agree with @Cheritheberry that it’s very well made. I took the larger of my two sizes and it fits beautifully. I just need to decide if I’d wear it enough to pay full price for it.

Red Evie flats are perfect color but feel more narrow than the blush from last year. I think those are going back.

    1. 30% In store promo today included the Abigail Borg clothes, so if you have a local store you might be able to get a price adjustment, if you like the dress. This line is nice, but couldn't bring myself to bite at FP. However with 30% off plus 20% with my J Crew Card I was smitten.

      Delete
    2. Yay! You liked the dress!

I just got home from work and the Abigail Borg dress was excluded (along with the pants and 3 shirts), at least from the store I work at.

    1. Quite a few items I have ordered at a good but no % off price have dropped before the 7 day period for price adjustments. That happened with my Parke topcoat last winter, it went from $95 to $65. So good luck with a sale next week.

    2. Yes I’m hoping some things will work out and there’s a promo before the PA period ends. I also picked up the Parke topcoat at the crazy good price! What color did you get?

    4. @eeps Thanks for the PSA! I wasn’t going to check the website as there is no promo, but glad I saw your post as I was able to score a few things that were on my wishlist, like the cashmere sweater with the tie neck in navy/white/cerise.

      Delete
    5. Excellent! I love that sweater! That’s on my wishlist - the popback wasn’t in my size. I had to return a medium because I listened to the reviews when I shouldn’t have.

      Delete
    6. @eeps, My Parke is the heather grey with black buttons. It is the exact same fabric as the double serge bow front pencil skirt. Lovely classic well made clothing. I have a Boden coat too, which may be cuter than the Parke but not as well made.
I like that tie neck sweater too!

  11. Received my order (and a second order too) and 75% are returns. Keeping the liberty skirt and collared sweater and an olive salut tee to go with my floral maxi from anthro. Returning the lightweight tippi and Point Sur dress (don’t remember the name but it comes in pink and teal). This dress could have been perfect for work but it’s a near miss like a lot of jcrew stuff - arm holes too low and show my bra, lining hangs out at the bottom, and came in a horrific wrinkled mess that would surely require a pressing from the dry cleaner. It seems some lace items are coming up soon so I’ll save my money for that rollout.

    1. I kept my liberty skirt but glad I sized down because it was huge in the waist. I could have actually gone down 2 sizes. I’m wearing it today and will post a ootd on my IG

    2. It looks lovely on you! Love your pairing!

      Delete
    3. Hi Liz - what did you think about the lightweight Tippi?

      Delete
    4. Hi silver_lining! I thought it was great! I could really tell the difference that the cotton made in the weave. So much more lightweight and breathable. TTS too. I only returned because the cerise color is the exact same as another sweater I have. I think the black and navy will make their way into my closet one day because they are a great basic.

      Delete
    5. Thanks Liz! I can’t wait to see how you style yours ❤️

      Delete
    6. Thanks Liz - good to know they're nice. I've always liked their merino/cotton sweaters. One more question - would you say that the cerise is more orange than red? I find that to be such a difficult color to tell on my monitor. I love a true red, but JC's "modern red" and the other names it has gone by don't work for me.

      Delete
    7. I would say it has quite a bit of orange in it. Definitely not a true red but not orange either. Would look great with navy but I think if you paired it with black it would look Halloweenish. I loved the idea of it with khaki and a pop of leopard as styled on the site. And I see it’s available in the sweater blazer too which would be great with jeans and leopard. But definitely not a true red if that’s what you’re looking for.

    8. Thanks again! You saved me a return. ; )

  12. Went to the Greensboro store and was surprised they had as many new arrivals as they did. Bought the tiger print and Borg teal peasant top in XXS for 20 percent off. Had ordered the XS in the Borg and realized that the smaller size is much better. The tiger print shirt is stunning in real life. It didn't do much for me online. I also hadn't realized it was navy and not black.

Are you Mary who was going to Italy and communicated some months ago about Ratti fabrics?

Yes, that was me. Glad you got the top. I have only vague plans to return to Italy at some point. My Romanian cousin and I want to meet in Florence, though with all I keep reading about Milan, that seems worth a trip too.

  13. Answering my own question from above. I couldn't get through with anyone at Short Hills or garden state plaza, but the Wayne store picked up and told me sale was extra 50 and an extra 20 for using jcrew card. I called for a PA and was told the extra 20 wasn't valid but I called the store a second time to confirm, so I just emailed rather than wait on hold another ten minutes. Hopefully I get the PA.
I was tempted to order the silk floral jacket...or pants...

    ReplyDelete
  14. So can I order online and call for a PA for 50% off sale if the sale is going on in the store?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Theoretically. You need to specify your store has the promo.

    2. I should add, I really don't like doing that, but then again there SHOULD be consistency. My store has limited inventory so I do most of my shopping online.

  15. Not sure if this is appropriate to post here but I have a Regatta skirt in XXS I am sending back to the Crew. Since I know this is a coveted item I figured I'd offer it up here before mailing it back to the warehouse. I used my student discount to buy it, so it would be $85 plus 1st class shipping to where you are (probably a couple of dollars). Please let me know if you are interested, if there are no takers I'm mailing it back on Monday. My email is bankygirl @ gmail . com.

    1. Very nice of you to post this. You’re so right about it being a coveted item; go over to eBay and look at Hannahbeast (ID) she has over 10 available in all sizes. I’m furious people buy items in volumes only to resell on eBay.I ripped my size Small 2 weeks ago and was unable to locate another. I purchased a M today and wondering if it can be altered given the pleats etc.

    4. Runs very large in the waist. I can also do an XS but it would give a more tapered look. Since my last post I cancelled the M and located a S. I believe given your size a S would be a better fit. I’m 5’71/2 128 lbs. long legged.

  16. My Orders:

Reversible Liberty Puffer Jacket - Got XXS. Even in that size, it still doesn't fit me right. My husband said I look like I'm in a hazmat suit, about to diffuse a bomb. And my daughter said I look I'm wearing a sleeping bag. Hahaha!

Petite Vintage Straight Jean in Two Tone - Love this! Got a P26. It's stretchy so I might exchange for a P25. It's high waisted @ 9 3/4 rise.

Stretch Button Up Shirt in Peplum - Nice. Got a 2. Sleeves are a tad long on me. I like the hidden buttons. Fabric is thick. I like the mandarin collar and the peplum.

    Borg Pieces:
Pink Silk Tank - Size 2. I like it IRL. Will look nice with a navy or grey cardigan, and grey cigarette fit slacks.

Pink Cotton-Silk Peasant Top - Size XS. Fit is good on my 35B chest. Not too fond of the material. Fabric is kind of flimsy. Colors does not pop like it does in silk. Will return.

Pink Silk Slip Skirt - Size 0. Followed the advice of comments online. I'm usually a 2, but 0 fits. I like the hook-up of tank and skirt, but not sure how often I'd wear the skirt...its a keep for now.

  19. The difference between store promos and online are really frustrating. Why can't there be consistency? I'm glad I ordered yesterday and called several stores to find out what their promos were. Even still, CS spoke to someone else in the store who gave different info than what I was told and I needed to call again to get the additional 20% off that was offered yesterday.
(Also, not every store actually picks up the phone on busy weekend days!)

  20. the Pipa Middleton dress and other floral dress are now on the factory website not in the jcrew site. However, it is $70 and take extra 40% for final sale. More expensive than previous promotions and in final sale?? A lot of factory items have in higher prices and in final sale. And generally, factory color is not as attractive as the jcrew items and the design is boring and lack of change.
