Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. Is that only in the store? And is it an additional 40% off?

  2. I have a few returns to make, so I'll pop by at some point.

Just posted reviews of the Tortoise Flower Necklace and Bracelet, as well as the Color Mix Bracelet here!

All of them are really cute. The necklace is going to be too big for me personally, but the others are keepers. The Color Mix bracelet is like candy and I want to eat it.

    1. I got the Tortoise Flower necklace and love it. Thanks for the review of the bracelet. I may have to pick that up. Like you, the Color Mix Bracelet was calling. I've enjoyed wearing it.

  3. I don't have plans of going this weekend, but I may stop into the Tampa J.Crew next week since I'll be near there. As always, I'll be looking forward to reports from all the JCAs that do go this weekend though! :)

  6. OT: There is still 30% off sale styles at Madewell until 5.6.13, and there are a lot of new promo-priced items added this week that also get the discount. I've updated the Madewell promo-priced items list which can be seen here.

Run to Old Navy! So many cute, not-bad quality J.Crew-likeitems and dirt cheap. See my blog for a few of my purchases.

  11. Just got back from North Avenue (Chicago) store. There were swarms of people in the sale section, so it was hard to see what was there. I did want to post to let anyone looking for the eyelet sweatshirt to know they had a few in store (not in sale section, but folded by the downstairs register). I know there was a L. I ultimately decided not to get it, but assuming they match the last online price, it's a steal!

  12. Definitely want to check out the Factory store with their additional 40% off the entire store seeing as I was on vacation when they did their 50% off. Hope to find nice and cheap things. Ha!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  13. Just received the swoop top in punk floral in my normal silk top size. Fit well in shoulders but billowy through body. I also noticed that one sleeve is more diagonal in cut but the other is cut straight across horizontally. Arghh.

JCAs who have this top, can you help.. Is the stitch on the top (in the back) sewn tightly? The bottom stitch on mine is tight, no space between the two pieces of silk but the top stitch is looser and you can see the loop of the stitch which makes a little space between the pieces of silk. Thank you so much!

    1. Hi jan! My top also has one loose stitch holding the top in the back. I will definitely need to reinforce it. Also ARGH! about the defective cut on the sleeve of your top. I love it otherwise and will post some photos on my blog this weekend of a few ways I styled it.

      Delete
    2. @a Bigger Closet- thank you so much for letting me know! I wasn't sure if the stitch was another defect. Good idea about reinforcing it.

I look forward to seeing your styling ideas! :)

    3. Mine arrived today, too. Love the color, but it was sheer in sunlight, the sleeves on mine were uneven, and if I raised my arms halfway it became midriff baring :( Back it goes...

      Delete
    4. Wendy, I agree it is more sheer than I thought. So you too have defective sleeves, that's pretty bad. I can't believe I forgot to try raising my arms, I was rushed so will have to try again.

    5. Just a quick note to say that I emailed CS about the loose stitches on the back of my Swoop blouse, and they offered to reimburse me for repair costs of up to $50 on my sending them a copy of the repair bill. I've had similar offers from J. Crew in the past when the item is defective and they can't just send another one, so it's worth a shot if you're planning on getting those back stitches reinforced (and are sewing-averse like me).

    6. @Professor Brady- thank you so much for posting this. I'm still on the fence about keeping it but I'm really glad to hear that they are acknowledging the problem. I wonder how many have loose stitches.

  14. I went by my local store today and actually didn't buy anything! I was going to return a few things and look around. I wanted to try the daisy lace mini but my store didn't have it. Probably a good thing as I have bought a lot lately.

The double serge cotton pencil skirts are marked down to $79.50 and the cafe capris down to $59.50. I noticed that the seersucker skirt and the navy/white pencil skirt were grouped there and I asked the SA if they were $79.50 too and she couldn't confirm or deny and I didn't have time to wait for her to check. So, if you're interested in either one of those skirts you might want to ask your store!

Also, I saw sizes 00 and 0 in the Liberty blazer (June's Meadow) for $99.99. This was at the Fair Oaks Mall, VA store.

    1. Ok, it was really bugging me so I called my store to see about the two newer skirts I mentioned being marked down and apparently they were not supposed to be marked that way :( The SA did say that she would honor that price for me if I came back in tonight since it was marked that way (accidentally), but I'm prob not going to do that...

  15. I have a few items to pack up and return from my recent order. I posted reviews and photos on my blog of items that are keepers here, including the Coral tweed jacket, Tippi in Graphic Floral and No. 2 skirt with navy-white stripe.

  16. I stopped by to return the Lace Stripe dress and a few other things that didn't work out. I tried it in a smaller size to see if the fit was better, but it still hung on me funny and was too short. I think I will keep the Daisy Lace Mini instead. The price was much better and I can more easily dress it down. I bought a pair of Bermuda shorts while I was there, though, oops... they are a great summer weight and look really cute rolled twice. I'm not usually a fan of Bermuda shorts because I have short legs but I was sold on the lightweight material and easy roll-up.

    1. I just ordered the lace stripe dress and daisy lace mini in both colors today. Hoping one them works out! Also put the tortoise necklace and scallop dress in the cart too... Now I will have to wait for UPS!

    2. I keep thinking about that tortoise necklace, it looks nice! I tried on the scallop dress in store but it wasn't the right fit on me. I hope that or the lace dress or skirt works out for you, I think they are so pretty.

  18. Stopped by today after catching a flick but didn't get anything. Nothing stood out and called my name, plus I wasn't really in the shopping mood. Blasphemous I know. Probably a good thing though. There were quite a few Swoop blouses and dress in the Punk floral print at my store (315-472-7182).

  19. Stopped by my B&M actually both in my area. But had a pair of Quorra Ballet flats on hold at Park Meadows. I have been lusting after these since last year, so decided with the 30% off and my rewards they would be mine. I love them, they actually come higher on the foot than my Cece's which I like, fit TTS and very comfortable. I got them in Chalk a nice neutral color. Not sure why but they rang up as 25% off and then I got the 30% discount, so only $82. Also, got Boy Shirt in Dot Oxford for $29.99 and a couple of vintage cotton tee's for $9.99 all prior to the 30% off, so great deals. The SA told me that he heard that the sale would be going through the weekend. I have to think that is true, sale section is so large tons of items that just are not selling. Plus the new arrivals from April and May seem to be hanging around, so lots of inventory to move.

    1. Gigi, the shirt I bought was style # 26728 (WE9925 on receipt) which does not match either of those. It came in light violet with black dots and light green with blue dots. Originally, $78. It says HOL. 12. Nice heavy cotton for $20. HTH

    2. JRSConifer - Thanks. That's the shrunken shirt in dot oxford. Review here of both colors for anyone that wants to look for it in-store. I saw a few in Pleasanton a week ago.

    3. As always your review was spot on, pun intended. I wanted to love the blue/green too but the violet/black looked better on. Park Meadows had lots of both colors/sizes and the rack also had the Indian Voile Popover in Neon Rose and an Emerald Green all for $29.99 prior to 30% off if anyone is looking for them.

  25. I stopped by and did a few returns. My store still had 25% off everything. I took a look around and only got a cute Double-Seahorse Tee. If anyone is looking, there are still plenty of Swoop Dresses in Punk Floral @ La Cantera, San Antonio. Tempted to go back and get the Tortoise necklace for MamaBella. I think she'd love it.

  27. stopped by my store today...they had 25% off and 30% off for cardholders (no signage for that, they mentioned it when I was checking out). The punk floral items were pretty much sold out at my location. I ended up purchasing the navy and white striped pencil skirt and a vintage v-neck striped tee.

  29. I stopped by with a return and to try the Perfect Shirt in Crosshatch Linen in Brilliant Blue before the sale ended. Did anyone else have issues with gaping and the buttons slipping out of the buttonholes? I want to love this shirt but it seems like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. I tried on a size up but it gaped at the bust too, which was strange because it was clearly too big. I'm not even very big-busted. Maybe the shoulders are pulling and causing it to gape in front?

    2. Thanks, good to know it's not just me. That's disappointing. It's such a pretty color. I have a turquoise linen perfect shirt from last year that is fine, too.

  31. I did stop by but didn't end up picking up anything because of my spending challenge. But I did try on this stuff and have posted some reviews:
    - Linen Baseball Sweater: great for summer and super comfy. Overprice, imo. Fit pics
    - Embroidered Wildflower Top: Cute, but the arms are super super tight. I don't know why this happens sometimes with their knits. fit pics
    - Short Sleeve Chambray Shirt: Adorable, great fit. Very comfy. Would be great for summer and would actually look really cute with a shirt layered under, too. fit pics
    - Postage Stamp Mini in Scattered Dot: it was ok, a little big. fit pics
    - Linen City Mini: love. would buy on sale. not sure about how horrible the wrinkles would be. fit pics
    - Cargo Scout Chino: not for me. totally gave me flat butt. fit pics
    - Toothpick Jean in Garment Dyed Twill: i'm not a toothpick fan, much prefer the matchstick. but i figured i'd throw some picks up there for a comparison. fit pics

This was one of the only times I've successfully left J. Crew with nothing. Quite proud :)
